Hi, I did. Scraped and debugged + Cloudflare and w3 cache refresh.

How can we disable the author tag with the latest theme version?

I removed the whole code but it still displays my author name + link. One update back I only had to add // and it worked just fine, but I still don’t know how to remove the tag nowadays.

Thanks, looking forward hearing from you!

So, are you guys planning to anything to help everyone to be able to customize their mobile menu in the future? I wish we knew it before we started working on our project.
Instead of relying on random devs all the time, I prefer relying on you guys with a possible update in the future. Since it looks like everyone who purchased the theme complaining about not having an option to customize the mobile (which is the most important thing for any websites or blogs since people use their mobiel phones more than their desktop, such as 83%), it’d dope if you guys let everyone know about it. Also, please let me know if guys are considering this, so we’ll have a better understanding about who we have to work on a long-term. Also, we’re a bit afraid of that’d decrease our page speed because of additional CSS codes.
Also, we have come across another problem right now, right before I started typing this. So, on theme panel/blocks settings/category tags on modules, is not working even tho I cleared all the caches. It doesn’t show on the thumbnails or homepage posts.

Hi,

Please follow this guide and modify the mentioned parameters – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also here is a guide to improve page speed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ and configure the cache plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ If you still have problems on a fresh theme install, installing only the theme’s required plugins and after using the recommendations above please provide a link to your website so we can take a look.

Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. As said I am not facing any problem with WP Super Cache and images & blog is working just fine with WP Super Cache, but the thing is WP Super Cache doesn’t have that many features as W3 Total Cache got.

Here is the actual problem is with the Asynchronous tag i.e., whenever I try to use the Async feature of W3 Total Cache or plugin to make all the javascript Asynchronous/ defer, the images stop showing up. If you can tell me any script which needs to be excluded then it would be really helpful. If this functionality cannot be attained then also please let me know. Also, as far as the testing is concerned then W3 Total Cache works just fine if I uncheck the Async Javascript option, but then again it becomes a bit useless to use it.

Also, let me know if there is any possible way to show the News Ticker on all the pages of the site or on all articles page. Currently it can be only shown on the homepage but it would look really great on the articles pages. If there is any possible to do the same then please let me know.

Blog URL – http://thatsbreaking.com

I am trying to add Async Javascript to make my blog load faster and to increase the Google Pagespeed Insights.
Thanks and have a nice day!

Hi,

This could be happening when the complex visual composer elements present on your page, make multiple ajax requests under heavy visitor traffic. You should try to reduce the number of requests, like block pagination, ajax filter etc. from each of the block settings – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ Also make sure you have updated Visual composer – along with the theme update. Alternatively this can be caused by a plugin, so you could deactivate all of them if possible, except visual composer and check the results. Here are some guides to help you configure the WP Super Cache plugin – https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ and optimize site speed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Lastly please make sure the server meets the theme’s requirements – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check to see if there are any redirects being made in your htaccess file. Also deactivate all your plugins except Visual composer, clear your cache and purge cdn files. Please also check any custom code you may have entered in theme panel or added to the theme files. If you are using a child theme switch to the main theme.

Thanks

Gentlemen,

My widgets page are too slow, it takes a 5-8 delays seconds for a single scrollbar click. It just impossible to work with.
I tried fresh installation, no plugins activated, cache cleared, other updated browsers, nothing works.

Waiting for a solution, please.

Best regards,
Fabio.

Hello Soothsayer,

First of all, please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme which comes bundled with the theme packet and also, installs only the plugins that come bundled with the theme pack and rule out any conflciting plugins. If you want to exclude some categories from Blocks, yo should consult the theme panel option from our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/ Also, clear all your caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

1. Please check to see if you have the default thumb size set in wordpress – https://www.screencast.com/t/uosBOW2xYg and make the changes if not. Also clear your cache after the modification.

2. If you are using the mobile theme, this plugin was designed with speed and performance in mind, so it comes with predefined templates for the homepage, posts and categories. So you will have the mobile theme post template regardless of the post template used for the post. More information here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ If you do not use the mobile theme, the theme has full responsive design so it always looks good on all devices.
Post template style 8 – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/ could be a bit slower in loading since it features a background image.

Thanks

Hello,

You seem to have made almost all of the important debugging steps except the most important one which I suspect is the culprit. A plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This issue can be created by the photon feature of jetpack or another plugin that needs access to images.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you!

Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

If you still cannot get it to work properly please provide a link to your site so we can inspect the ad.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please follow this guide and increase the mentioned parameters if required – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also you should try as a test to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear your cache and check the speed again, maybe a plugin is causing this. Here is a guide to help you further improve your website speed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ and recommended configuration for the cachehttps://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/

Hi,

It seems the Roboto Condensed font has a minimum of 300 font weight meaning the light version – https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Roboto+Condensed Try to enable the following settings in theme panel fonts – https://www.screencast.com/t/5FXjMwBjaXxI The result should be like this, do a cache clear after the modifications just to be sure – https://www.screencast.com/t/c73g5jA6Jrj More about font customization here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
I don’t know what to recommend about that table plugin, if you are using shortcodes and they are correct it should work properly. You could identify the elements on the page and make custom code using your browser inspector to further style and position the table, if the plugin has no settings for this – https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/

Thanks

Hello,
The social counter issue could be linked to the same plugin conflict. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files. That way you can test the theme without plugins as they are the number 1 reason for styling issues.
Thank you!

Hi, no longer updating this thread, as I’m now moving to testing optimizations utilizing

a) php 7 with enhancements for code and opcache, even better than php 5.6 (5.4 is a DOG!).
b) https + http/2

We have dedicated server, so a bit different approach than many others here. We do not use CDN as not secure (e.g., Cloudflare), or not any faster for our U.S. client/audience due to our server in Class A datacenter in Texas.

Hello Vicky,

Please notice that the W3 Total Cache is not tested with our theme, sorry! You should use only the WP Super Cache plugin because this is our tested caching plugin. For more information about settings of WP Super cache, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Please notice that the mobile theme makes some troubles due to WP Super Cache plugin. Also, the WP Super Cache plugin is compatible with the mobile devices, but if you are using the Mobile Theme, please notice that you should make some changes for a better working. This could be a problem from wp super cache and not the browser. If you use the plugin, please use this method to fix the issue:
Use this link and add the customization as marked here: https://github.com/Automattic/wp-super-cache/pull/185/files
Edit wp-cache-phase1.php and add the green code from the right column as it shows there.
If you need more assistance regarding on your images, please provide your website URL so we can take a closer look.

Thanks for the message!

Hi,

I have updated Visual Composer, cleared the cache but unfortunately the problem is still there.

Additionally I’d have another question. We are using Tables by Supsystic plugin, where in order to publish the tables on pages we need to use shortcodes. Unfortunately, the tables on pages do not look like the originally set up one (styling, size…) Any idea what might cause the issue?

Thanks,
LS

Hello newbietamvan,

I have inspected your website and I saw that you have some errors in your console and also, you are using some untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues. Please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Also, if the problem is still there, please try to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and check the results.

Thanks for the message!

Hi Kanana, can you help me with the exact settings for this to work with W3 total cache?

There is already a usergroup called ‘low’ with mobile user agents do you leave that untouched? And which theme do you select for the new usergroup or do you leave it empty?

Hi,
Okay I get it, that I cannot show Link ads through theme’s ads panel.

I got one more thing, I want to ask i.e., Whenever I try to use W3 Total Cache with NewsPaper theme and choose the option to load Javascript Asynchronously, I noticed that the theme stop showing images. Also, if I use the TagDiv Mobile theme with W3 Total Cache, the mobile theme start showing on browser sometimes and the desktop theme on mobile platforms.
I tried to fix this issue by choosing the defer Javascript option of the w3 Total Cache, but still the issue of images not showing up and wrong theme for different platforms loads up.
Then I decided to delete the mobile theme and to do that again, but the image issue was still there.
Right now, I am not using any Caching plugin and any other plugin or code to load javascript asynchronously/ defer.
I noticed some warnings when I ran Google Pagespeed Insights and would like to learn some tips to fix these warnings.
I know I can also use WP Super Cache, but it is not that efficient and don’t have that many features as compared to W3 Total Cache.
If you are about to run a Google Pagespeed Insights, then please check the render blocking javascript and css for the desktop and ignore for the mobile platform as I am using mobile theme which is preoptimized.
Thanks!

There are parts of the website that are not seen on the mobile. The plugins that I have active are the following:

– Accelerated Mobile Pages
– AMP
– Asesor de Cookies
– Contact Form 7
– Jetpack by WordPress.com
– Simple Social Icons
– Speed Booster Pack
– tagDiv Mobile Theme
– WP Super Cache
– WPBakery Visual Composer (Versión 4.12.1)
– Yoast SEO

I’ve followed all the steps and still do not know what to do.

Hello kingvish,

Please try to increase your WP Memory limit to 64M according to our guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ From your screens it seems to be set up to 40M. This can be a reason for your issue. Try my advice, clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
