i updated the theme properly using http://ftp..also cleared all cache ,cdn
the theme fonts section, ads section are affected, every options value on those page shows as -1
Hello,
The theme does not add any numbers to the url’s. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test again.
If you still have trouble with this, try to switch to a wp default theme and see if the author url still gets the 2’s
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please make sure you increase your system status parameters like this guide shows: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hi Nik
The code works on my end: http://screencast.com/t/fSjoHGhS
Please check your theme panel-> custom css section and make sure your previous code is properly closed
Also make sure you clear cache and reset cdn files as the code is the correct one for removing the comments.
Try it with chrome;s live css extension to see if the code works. If it doesn’t please provide a link to your site so i can inspect it.
Thanks.
Hi,
1. The sticky logo is there now. Mobile and desktop
2. Please remove any custom css you may have affecting the logo and add this code instead:
.td-header-style-7 .td-header-sp-logo{
max-width: 278px!important;
}
.td-header-style-7 .td-header-menu-wrap-full{
height: 106px!important;;
}
3. For the slider issue, please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test the slider again. i sus pect some plugins are no longer compatible in the current version of the theme.
Thank you!
Hi,
Well if you did not add the code, maybe a plugin did. Please try to remove the code I provided and simply disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the email address again and see if it’s still transparent. Here is the reason why I said it was something you or a plugin added. All the css that comes from the theme will have style.css shown in the right of the code like so (using the chorme browser inspector): http://screencast.com/t/wn3GWX7vD That is a clear sign that the css comes from the theme. Now, other css rules that do not come from the theme, will not have the source as the theme;s style.css like the transparency rule that you have on your site. It is still there but it’s been re-writen by my code as you can see here: http://screencast.com/t/LLiFJ4kS
Thank you!
Hello,
Please download the correct version of the patch from here:
http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/patch_7.4_7.5.zip
Do not use the patch you downloaded from envato as there are missing files from it.
Thank you!

Hello shyamkarnani,
I have inspected your issue and it was a conflict between mobile theme plugin and SEO By Yoast. Try to delete the mobile theme plugin and install this version: http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/td-mobile-plugin.zip clear all caches then test the site again.
Let us know ho it goes.
Thanks for the message!
Hello,
Please make sure you updated the theme properly via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files if you use it. If the problem is still there please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can login and investigate.
Thank you!
Ok,
Now we also see the issue as well as the js error that creates it http://screencast.com/t/ULf4gxKuao
This is a standard plugin conflict. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then test again. Also if you use a child theme, switch to the main theme in order to rule out any custom code that will affect the theme js.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
This usually happens when the theme js breaks. This happens very often on plugin conflicts. Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files. If you use a child theme, switch to the main theme so we can rule out any customization as well.
Thank you!
Hello,
1. You should check to see if speedbooster is indeed active and running. is it moving any other render blocking js and css? ius it doing nothing? check the system status and make sure you clear all caches after you change the plugin code. Disable any untested plugin as if you use our workaround for speedbooster to make it work with other plugins, it is not guaranteed it will move the plugins css and js.
2. If wp super cache is installed and runnign properly the system status should detect it as so. Please clear the hosting cache and purge cdn files and test again.
3. You should follow those instructions, yes as they are requirements for the installation of the plugin. After you install it, use this guide to set it properly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
4. we still get some of the errors but we do not use speedbooster on our demo and as you can see it loads pretty fast without it. speedbooster will improve speed but it;s the optimization that you make until that point that count the most: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fdemo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewspaper%2F&tab=desktop
Give this topic a try also if you want to get the best out of your site’s page speed: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/score-100100-pagespeed-with-newspaper-wordpress-theme/
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files if you use it. Then test again. If the problem is still there, please delete your theme and install it again by using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Choose the ftp method and also delete the theme manually via ftp as there is a bug in the current version of WP that might prevent you from deleting any theme from the wp dashboard.
Thank you!
1. We have not tested SiteGround, sorry. As for the specs, I cannot disclose them. Our theme has these requirements for hosting https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
3 and 4. We only use these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ we have not tested anything extra that is not specified in the guide
5. If using wordfence you will have to make sure you set the firewall on learning mode otherwise it will block any setting in the theme panel and block any change you make to your theme. It seems to work fine otherwise.
6. Please read this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
7. The main reason is that it’s the option that works best with our theme. We have tried all settings to see which combination works best and this was the result we found to be the best solution. We recommend PHP, not mode rewrite
Thank you!
Yeah … I’ve been moving all our news network sites to https with “Let’s Encrypt” and we’re going to be beta testing http/2 on our server for the speed-demon-who-needs-CDN-not-me-buddy effect :-).
I don’t use the speedbooster anymore since I tend to manually hack stuff to move to footer anyway, merge files, and then put critical css in header. SO, I’m more into doing that vs the plugin. Also been cheating a bit with the simple “scripts to footer” plugin which plays nice with our sites at the moment.
Also it turned out finally going from Newsmag 1.7 (ahem!) to 3.1 made huge difference in being able to use the tagdiv beta composer. So, with the 3x, scripts to footer, basic house cleaning, and the tagdiv composer, that is one huge giant jumpstart right there … newspaper a bit more clunky but serves more masters!
Right now I’m still embroiled in the nightmare that is working with google for http > https, notifying Google News, mysql search/replace crap, etc. — WAAAH!
Anyway — have not myself yet gotten to playing with php 7. Just switched on new server Aug 5, so still doing house cleaning on stuff in prep for new version of mod_pagespeed (we crashed last version due to some issue where it didn’t like missing images, and with server crash we borked some stuff, so now need to add stupid htacess rule to redirect missing jpeg to default jpeg just to get mod_pagespeed to work …)
but I digress … as per usual :-0
Multi-site w/ Sub-direcotories – NewsPaper 7 (Installed on and plugins tested on the primary site.)
Hey – So I went through the tutorials and have a couple of questions:
1. TD Speed Booster – Primary Site Activated Only
I added the CSS & JS as mentioned in the docs >> Purged all Cache on CloudFlare >> Ran PageInsights and the same files showed up in the “Should Fix” Suggestion Summary.
I did have an error in NewsPaper System Status stating it was deactived due to plugin conflict >>
So I commented out the lines in the Speed Booster Plugin PHP (as per tutorial) >> Cleared CloudFlare CDN >> Ran PageSpeed Insights again == The exact same CSS and JS files in the Should Fix.
Any Ideas?
2. WP Super Cache – Network Activated
Shows page Cached: http://screencast.com/t/muegNyyeNUoC
NewsPaper System Status, NO Active Caching Plugin: http://screencast.com/t/nWPRhHjHw
Cached files in supercache directory: http://screencast.com/t/9DafM4rEem
Any Ideas?
3. WP Super Cache – Developer Installation Instructions
Do we also need to follow these directions? http://screencast.com/t/3huZNEaTuI
Original page here: installation: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/installation/
4. CloudFlare – Do you guys still get on Google PageSpeed Tools (Even if you have minify enabled on CloudFlare): Consider Fixing = Minify Javascript and Minify CSS
Theme doesn’t store third party plugin data; the WordPress database does.
You can try cleaning your dbase with wp-optimize plugin, which I use.
You can also resave permalinks, clear any cache plugin, reset CDN if used.
Check the support forum for that plugin to see if others have similar issue.
Hello,
Page speed is a very personal thing Optimization has to be doen on your site to achieve better speeds. Please follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
1) We use softlayer – http://www.softlayer.com/
2) We do not have retina images enabled on our demo.
3) We do use cdn (cloudflare) and we recommend these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
4) We did not activate the mobile theme plugin on our demo.
5) We do not have speedbooster enabled on the demo.
Thank you!
Hello,
Your favicon displays perfectly fine:
http://screencast.com/t/1GLArsYEH
I suspect you have a cdn server or a server cache that you are not aware of and simply clearing the cache plugin is not enough . Please check with your host and ask for any caching if you do not know about.
Thank you!
Hey – So your demos are loading pretty fast. (I’m looking at the original demo)
I hope you don’t mind me asking these questions…
1. What type of hosting do you use?
2. Do you have retina images enabled?
3. Are you using a CDN?
4. Do you have your Mobile Plugin enabled?
5. Do you have the TD Booster enable?
If you can’t answer all of these, I completely understand.
Best,
IC
Hello,
The theme will not remove any content from your site unless you edited the dummy data and then switched demos.
it will also remove the content of the sidebar if you use any special characters in the sidebar names. Wehen you create sidebars please only use standard symbols no special characters or language specific symbols.
If the issues are still there, please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and rest cdn files. Then check again.
Let us know if you still have trouble with this.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also remove any custom code you may have in place (make a back-up before)
If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme. Try to bring the theme as close to the original code as possible. And then test again. Please also restore any changes made by third party optimization tools.
If you still have trouble with this please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wo-admin so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you.
Thank you!
Hi, I asked for some help on MAXCDN and they helped me to set it up. Working like a charm now.

hello,
We do not recommend using max cdn as it is not tested to work with our theme. We recommend cloudflare and these settings:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
As for caching: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thank you!
