Hello,
It depends on what you use from cludflare. We use cludflare ourselves but not all options. You can follow our cloudflare guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
I hope this helps.
Thank you!
Hello sid,
This issue is known when using CDN or loading fonts from a different source.
Take a look at this: http://screencast.com/t/AMjW530CSH6 and this: http://screencast.com/t/dLjEUGGwQUZ
The solution to this issue is simple. You will need to add some code to your .htaccess file like this post suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/
For your second request, if you want to remove the border between the top bar and main menu, please try the code below and add it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.
The code is ->
.td-header-style-8 .td-header-top-menu {
border-bottom:0px;
}
The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/3tRmZyw5k
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
If is not what you mean, please provide more details about your desired changes so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thank you for the message!
Exactly, CDN is best for edge hosting (being able to load frequently loaded content at a closer locale). A CDN is also useful if you get periodic traffic surges (e.g., featured on Reddit or something), as it allows you to get a big overload without having complex load balancing (we’re talking something like jumping up to 1 million views in a week or something … this happened to us once and holy crap!). And it can be useful for some common stuff like jquery as it gets cached in browser so is not reloaded if everybody is loading it off Google’s server.
Also note that some CDN setups don’t properly gzip/deflate everything unless you set that up — some are managed, some are just like your own site meaning you have to manage TTL, CORS, expiration of content to refresh, gzip/deflate, headers, etc.
Frankly http/2 is going to be more mission critical with hosting services, and http/2 + mod_pagespeed is very powerful.
Most important thing is to stop serving live pages and start serving static html pages. You can do this with W3totalcaching, just make sure page caching is enabled. Also it will NOT cache for logged-in users. So test in another browser…
If you have a regular hosting plan a non-cached php page will load in something like 900ms. On a slow host you can even see 2000+ ms. If you use a good host (pm me if you are looking for a fast one) you can get this down to about 300ms. When you switch to html pages you can go as low as 30ms.
CDN is only useful for international websites. I use it on one of my websites because it allows visitors from the US and Asia to load my page faster (hosted in The Netherlands).
Yeah I turned off cache plugin, which in turn turns off the CDN. The page load was significantly different. Was multiple seconds different (by me just loading the page in my browser with no cookies). Was ridiculous. But I don’t think thats the experience with everyone… I dunno.. but thanks, I’ll try and do more testing. Just seems to load the images very very slow with cdn (though even slower without) – and I don’t understand why, besides this template being extremely bloated.
@larceny
in my case we have dedicated high speed server in Class-A datacenter. So for us, using most CDN stuff doesn’t help us. We tested this thoroughly, hence the effort to optimize “in place” vs relying on external resources.
For whatever your situation is, you will have to A/B test how it works for you and your content, layouts, hosting plan, etc., as that varies from site to site.
Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that the page structure it’s different then the one from the theme. If you made any customization in theme’s file try to revert them, deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using and test again.
Let us know how it goes and if the problem persist please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials and we will inspect this issue as soon as possible, also include a link to this topic.
Thanks!
Hello,
This seems like a js error caused by conflicting plugins. It is most likely not caused by woocommerce but the combination between it and another plugin. Please deactivate all plugins except woocommerce and visual composer, clear your cache and reset cdn files if you use it. This issue is caused by a js error and the lazyload animation. You can deactivate this feature if you want.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
All of sudden search and social icons appear in Chinese characters in main and top menu navigation. When I contacted MaxCDN, support guy said that webfont file which you have included has ?8 query string and a 301 redirect.
Here have a look: http://www.freezebin.com/5a8b74dc718a6464b093218af43d47fd49bf732d53bb25364
How can I fix this issue? Please help.
Hello,
When the thumbs dissapear from the blocks, this usually means you have a plugin incompatibility. Please remove all your plugins except visual composer and the aggregator and test it again . Also clear the cache and reset cdn if you use it. Unfortunately the rss agreggator plugin is not tested with our theme so it could be the one creating the problems in the first place. If the problem is still there after you remove all other plugin, then you need to find another rss plugin.
Thank you!
Hello,
I tested this again on my end but it seems to display fine in custom ad 1 implemented exatly the same as yours: http://screencast.com/t/wogxkqiN
It seems the issue is not the theme. Please try to update your theme to the latest version, then try it without any plugins. Disable all of them except visual composer and clear cache (reset cdn if you use it).
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
I’m using MaxCDN, but doesn’t seemed to have helped my stats much.
Hello,
The setting are seeming to be saved. Also i don’t think so to use a cdn server.
I have sent you credentials at your contact e-mail.
thank you
Hello,
Please make sure your settings get saved in the theme panel. try other settings as well to see if they apply. If they do not, then you should follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Regarding the cache, you simply need to clear the cache. If you use a cdn server then you need to reset the cdn files also.
If the problem is still there afterwards, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin so we can take a look and see why the logo cannot change. Also include a link to this topic.
(We do not work on weekends so we will inspect your website on Monday)
Thank you!
Hello,
what do you mean with purge cdn.
here is the link:
http://testgeolits.myipservers.gr/Olaballa/
Now i disabled all plugins, and i deleted all cache from browser.
the logo at the theme panel is diferent from the default logo you can see right now.
Is there something else i have to do with cache?
thank you
Hello,
Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn if you use it to rule out a plugin conflict.
If the problem is not solved afterwards, please try to download the theme again and install it via ftp. (You can delete the current theme as your settings will not get affected but just to be safe you can make a back-up beforehand) https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
Hello,
I have tested this on my end but could not recreate the issue. Please try to remove all your plugins except visual composer, clear your cache and purge cdn if you use it.
If the problem is still there please let us know and provide a link to your website pointing at the problem.
Thank you!

Should be in the CDN FAQs, too 😉
Issue Solved. but i agree Chris should be in FAQ as CDNs are getting more and more popular.
I tried this line in nginx…
location ~* \.(eot|ttf|woff|woff2)$ {
add_header Access-Control-Allow-Origin “*”;
}
didn’t work. I tried httaccess method, didn’t work either.
Then simply told my host to send CORS headers forfont files for my website. They confirmed it and I see that that it was done “Access-control-allow-origin: * ”
Still those perky icons not loading lol
When font awesome didn’t want to load, i simply loaded it from external CDN (maxcdn) and it worked again. If i can do the same with the other random font files, then would be good to go.
You need to either load the font locally (it’s in the theme in the images folder I think; basically a trimmed version of fontawesome) — or setup a CORS rule on your CDN. This is a protection setting that blocks fonts from being loaded “across domains” in browsers.
Really should be a FAQs page on this in the docs, but everybody using a CDN runs into this one eventually 🙂
What fonts are used to display social icons, arrows, search icon and random other icons around the theme?
I ask because ever since switching to a CDN those font icons are not displaying correctly.
That is the ONLY issue i’m having on my site. Everything else is flawless.
So perhaps if I know the font, I can load it manually or from another cloud provider.
Might be something that changed with WP 4.2.2 — likely good to double check your php upload settings for your hosting account as this sometimes resets with a server update (meaning the max file size upload).
Try uploading from media manager vs from a post. That is “outside” the theme.
Make sure you have enough RAM allocated to WP, meaning at least 96MB vs default 40MB.
Make sure you’re not using a conflicting plugin, or something that tries to post the image to external location or something (e.g., CDN, Jetpack, etc.).
Hello Mark,
This looks like a plugin compatibility issue. please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN. If this is plugin related, now your mobile menu should display properly and you need to identify the plugin that creates the issue.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
