Hi
Sorry for that inconvenience.
Unfortunately minifying js could cause issues which why we don’t recommend using the minify option for js. We had numerous theme issues reported and the vast majority of them proved to occur because of minified js or when using CDN host services which can deliver old file content if not used right.
Thanks for the message!
Hello Bogdan,
There is no CDN or cache on our development system (which is the staging setup).
De-activating plugins didn’t help either.
I’ve sent you an email with login details and SFTP details. I’ve reset the development back to 4.6.1 as I’m sure that is more useful to you.
Kind Regards.
Hello,
Please try one more thing. To disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear your cache and purge CDN files if you use it. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login credentials so we can take a look. Please provide a link to this topic as well so we know who you are and what the problem is.
Thank you!

Hi,
Unfortunately I cannot provide an accurate solution to this as we did not made any tests regarding this. The above solution helped many users to fix this issue, but if you say that didn’t work in your case, I can only suggest to find an online solution. I have searched regarding this and I paste bellow some topics that may help you:

Hi there,
currently we are having an issues with this setting. In general it works fine BUT:
If a review is set for a post, the post appears in the blog which is configured to show the highest rated. But if you remove the review the specific post won’t disappear within this block. It is still there but not showing any stars (well this works as intended).
We also tried not to only set the review setting to “no” but also delete every single “feature name” and the description. Looking into the db entry for that post, all information about the “review” seem to be removed correctly. Anyhow, the post – as already said – still appears in every block using this filter method.
Are there any additional tables which are holding these review information or how could we solve this issue?
By the way, adding the review information automatically by writing them into the database works fine and all information about the review are correctly shown on the post itself. In a Block using the filter method highes rated these post first show up after saving the post through the backend without making any changes. This behavior also makes me belief that additional review information are stored somewhere else in the database?!
Ah, before you ask, there is no caching plugin oder CDN aktive.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english…
Best regards.
Hey Alin,
I tried a lot, since it didn’t work I disabled the CDN option. That’s why you are seeing a normal website. Without the icons the website didn’t look good. So had to disable the CDN. Still looking for solution. Kindly check and help on the same.
I am using Amazon EC2 for hosting and Cloudfront for CDN.
There is also a CORS setting you can add with Amazon CDN if memory serves.
http://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/cors.html
Been using it for 2 years now with Newspaper.
Try disabling other plugins, except for visual composer.
Might be issue with the speedbooster, or your caching is not cleared.
Remember whenever you change anything related to permalinks/URLs, you need to fully clear/reset all caching, CDN copies, etc., so that the “new” locations are seen properly.
Hi guys,
I am having a problem (not sure when it first started, only noticed it today while fiddling with widgets) where the smart sidebar does not work on Google Chrome – works fine on Safari and Firefox.
Traced the issue down to my CDN (maxCDN). When I switch that off, my smart sidebar sticks correctly. Do you have any suggestions on how I can resolve this?
Many thanks,
Hi,
Please make sure you use the child theme version provided with the theme as we have changed the child theme system from version 6.3 – http://screencast.com/t/Q9Z4Lf7tihc Then check the code that you add in stylesheet file, to not have any errors. If you use CDN you will have to purge your files and also clear all cache.
I suggest to get someone to help you as this requires some time to check and unfortunately we care not available for custom services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks!
Hello,
Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear cache and purge CDN files if you use it.
Let us know if the problem is still there afterwards.

Hello,
Please try to clear your cache and purge your CDN files if you use it. Normally our blocks were not meant to support sticky posts. If you have made any modification to the code, please remove that also.
Let us know how it goes!
Thank you!

Hi,
We use a font for most of the icons present in the theme. When the font is served from a CDN it may cause a Cross Origin issue. Try the solution presented here – http://screencast.com/t/pPtF7boVPyAQ – http://webmasters.stackexchange.com/questions/71630/font-blocked-from-loading-by-cross-origin-resource-sharing-policy-no-access-co

Hi
I’ve checked your site and noticed that you’re using V 4.6.3 of Newspaper and V 4.4.4 of VC. We received some reports in the past regarding the high CPU usage with this version of VC. If you want to stay with this version try to downgrade the VC plugin at V 4.3.5 which require lower resources.
If you want to use the curen version of Visual Composer plugin available with the theme, then you need to update the theme to version 6.5.1 which has support for later versions of VC plugin and it’s also included within full theme’s package.
The current version of the Visual Composer included in theme’s package (4.7.4) has been tested and works fine. Also the plugin has passed through a major update, lots of security vulnerabilities have been fixed
If you decide to update please follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ backup your current install, run the import settings script, update plugins and check the result. You can always get back to the previous working theme version if something goes wrong as long as you backup it but doing the update as instructed the theme should work fine.
You should also consider into the process at the following aspects:
– backup your current theme/WordPress/database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
– setup a maintenance mode and you can use a plugin for that.
– empty all caches/purge files if you also use CDN host then disable any services of this type until you switch to the new theme
– disable all plugins
– install the theme then install the required plugins
– switch back the rest of the plugins and start other services
Hope this help.
Thanks!
I mostly use Template 7 but I love Template 8 – but 8 seems to corrupt on mobile -the demo looks perfect on mobile – but when I use it on my site it creates a small strip of the body text to the left third of the screen (smartphone) – the large image is on the right hand two thirds. Tablet and desktop all fine. Would love to know if there’s a fix for this.
No cache no cdn no lazy load
Best wishes
Pat
Hey there,
I’ve selected Open Sans as the font for the header menu and some other things, seen here: http://themedium.ca
“Latin” is checked in the theme panel for which Google Fonts subsets to load.
But at the moment I can only see Chrome actually displaying Open Sans. Firefox and Edge are showing a placeholder.
When I check sources, I see that Chrome is indeed loading the CSS and hence fonts from Google:
http://www.screencast.com/t/VrXcbxgOQI
But FF and Edge are only loading Roboto, not Open Sans:
http://www.screencast.com/t/9gdBHCTppI
http://www.screencast.com/t/ApqBMwc8
I’ve already purged all caches. I am using a CDN, but my htaccess allows font downloads, as you can see from Roboto and even my custom font files.
Any suggestions?
Hi
Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I thought it might be some kind of caching problem, but why does it only affect my site with Newspaper and not my other site which has a different theme? My other site updates instantly on the same PC.
I’ll look into WP Super Cache. but I have no idea what ‘CDN files’ are, sorry. Could you give me some more info please?
Thanks in advance.
Kathleen
Hello,
Please try to clear your cache and/or try using a different caching plugin: we recommend WP Super Cache for the job. You can also try to purge your CDN files if you use it as Ing Geek suggested.
Let us know how it goes!
Thank you.
Thats not Newspaper problem.
Could be your hosting, cache, CDN, and a lot of things.
You are loading an old cached page 🙂
Hi,
Please try to disable all your plugins except visual composer, clear your cache and purge CDN if you use it. Then try the widgets and Bluehost again and see if the error is still there.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!
