same here!
You shouldn’t release this new update without proper documentation as to where one should apply the child theme customizations as of this new update. And as it is crucial update, you should release a beta for testing ahead so site owners could get prepare ahead.
You just say to us: we’ve changed the theme, as we wanted to or instructed to, whatever, go find yourself.
This is a disgrace!

Hello,
This issue comes from using a child theme in the current theme version.
Most of the theme files were moved into the tagdiv composer plugin as per the requirements of envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css and the few files left in the main theme folder as envato requires all functionality to be added through plugins.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
Hello,
Please note that the child theme cannot affect plugins.

What is the modification you made to the templates as maybe you can implement it through the tagdiv composer and cloud library.
Thank you!
Hello,
This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Thank you!

On the bright side is you do not have to alter the theme code to make modifications to the header. Please read this guide to create a custom header design using the cloud library: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-customize-the-header-manager/
Thank you!
I just uploaded a fresh copy of your theme (latest version) and its child theme.
With a child theme on, AMP is not working. Same settings/plugins. With main theme on, AMP is working.
Any ideas?
Hello,
Indeed we did foresee this but we have to stick to the new envato rules. We had to comply to the new envato rules. Please read this article: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
The rules are the rules. Our products are envato exclusive and envato made these rules very clear for all theme developers. Every envato theme will be implementing such functionality.
On the bright side, now you do not need a child theme to make modifications to your header. Please read this guide and use the new header manager: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-customize-the-header-manager/
Every template can now be modified using the cloud library plugin so you no longer have to go in manually to edit the code.
Thank you!

Hello,
Amp works just fine for us with the mobile theme. I have just tested the functionality again but saw no issues with it. It is most likely a plugin conflict affecting your amp template.
Please disable all plugins except the page builder, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

on this page:
https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
it says if you don’t have a child theme follow the instructions below..
but what if you DO have a child theme?
I have several customizations in a child theme that disappear after updating to 9.7
Thanks
thanks
I just upgraded to 9.7 and all page templates are now moved from the theme to the td-composer plugin. Here is the relative path:
td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/
Prior to the upgrade, all page templates were in the root of the parent theme:
“page-pagebuilder-title”
“page-pagebuilder-latest.php”
I want to override this page template from the child theme:
“td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/page-pagebuilder-latest.php” – “page-pagebuilder-latest.php” –
I created a folder structure in my child theme as such: “td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/” but the page templates in my child theme are not overriding the legacy files in the plugin.
How can I override the moved files to the legacy folder in the td-composer plugin from my child theme?
Please advise. Thank you!
Envato app auto-updated theme and the website is now broken, returning an HTTP 500 error.
– Reverted back to Twenty Nineteen via database, disabled all plugs via database, switched back to Newspaper, no change
– Deleted Newspaper and re-added, no change
– Made sure that NP theme did not have modified files other than functions and stylesheet, no change
– Deleted and re-added NP plugs from new Envato zip file, no change
This also is affecting my old ionMag theme/child theme as well, same http 500. Anything else I should be looking at?
I need to upgrade a new client from Newspaper 9.5 and I need to create a child theme with modified fields. Where can I get a full copy of this version?
Kind regards.
Dear M,
After updating to 9.7 I’ve noticed the logo’s on my subdomain aren’t linking anymore to ‘custom location’.
In the child theme, I’ve copied the parts/header/logo.php and made the adjustments to link to the master domain, but seems not to work, … also not when I enable the ‘main’ theme and make the adjustments in the ‘main’ parts/header/logo.php file.
Any suggestions?
Kind regards,
Webagent05
Hey ho, .
I got notified from Envato that the update to Newspaper 9.7 is already available.
I updated my localhost version and tested my custom headerstyle-10.php
As expected it wasn’t working.
I figured out that the headerstyle-10.php is now located under plugins td-composer/legacy…..
I modified the “new” headerstyle-10.php there and now it seems to be working.
The thing is that my Childtheme is now unnecessary so I removed it completly.
The only problem that I got now, is that every time td-composer is updated, I have to manually replace the headerstyle-10.php in the td-composer folder.
Is there another steady solution?
Best regards
Hi,
Please make sure that your child theme is set like in our documentation -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Also there are files that can not be set in child theme, only the files specific in our documentation can be set in child.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi!
I’ve child-theme and make modifications in td_module_10.php. Now I have updated my theme to 9.7 and I did’n find td_module_10.php anymore in theme?
This is my modification:
<div class=”td-module-meta-info”>
<?php do_action(‘epfl_pw_premium_indicator’, $this->post);?>
<?php if (td_util::get_option(‘tds_category_module_10’) == ‘yes’) { echo $this->get_category(); }?>
<?php echo $this->get_author();?>
<?php echo $this->get_date($modified_date);?>
<?php echo $this->get_comments();?>
</div>
So where I put now this: <?php do_action(‘epfl_pw_premium_indicator’, $this->post);?>

Hi Calin,
Thanks for your feedback.
I have disabled all plugins, changed to Newspaper theme (without child theme), also no cache theme is being used.
I’ve followed all these actions and still the button is not clickable. Issue persists.
Please advise.
