Hello selejanalex,
Please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset CDN files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
If this does not fix it, please try to reinstall the theme via FTP using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you!
Hello, I have two questions about the theme Newspaper that I want to update
1.- Is the Newspaper theme compatible with the option to create a child theme? To avoid that customizations are lost in the updates.
2.- Does the theme include the latest version of the WPBakery Visual Composer plugin?
Currently I have:
Version Newspaper: 7.5
WPBakery Visual Composer Version: 4.12.1
Thank you
Hello,
If you cannot see the images, it could be a plugin conflict and not a theme update issue. You probably have a js error in your browser console that breaks the lazyload animation. Try to find which one of your plugins causes the issue and remove/replace it. This is done by disabling all plugins at once, clearing the cache and resetting/purgins cdn files if you use it. Then re-activate the plugins one by one testing your site after each one to see which one causes the images to break
Or it could not be a plugin at all and it could be a custom modification you made or your child theme that need updating as well. The child theme is not update proof. Try to switch to the main theme to test it out.
I hope this helps.
Thanks.
Hi,
@adamatpaymentscm.com and @Stefan Please try to reinstall your theme using this method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and install only the plugins provided in the theme package. Also deactivate any child theme you are using, because some elements from the theme may have been subject to change and it could interfere with the functionality.
Thanks
Hello,
Please check this guide as not all the files in wp_booster will work from the child theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
The files that work are mentioned in the guide. Unfortunately td_module will not work from the child theme. You will have to change it in the main theme files.
Thank you!
Hi,
Disabling the plugins is very important in this case, because a plugin could be the cause of this, or a child theme, since the problem is not manifesting on our side. You could try to rename the plugins folder or just deactivate them one by one in the plugins section and checking to see if the problem is still there. If nothing works, please try to make a fresh install by FTP – https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and install only the plugins bundled with the theme. Also if the search issue is present after taking these steps, please contact us at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login information, and paste a link to this topic for identification purposes.
Thank you for understanding!
Hi,
I have created a child theme for a couple of small changes I need.
In the main folder I have the following files:
style.css
functions.php
Then I have created the following structure: includes/wp_booster
and added 2 files in wp_booster
td_module_single_base.php
td_module.php
But td_module.php is not loading. The change in that file is not showing. I know the code is working because I have tested the file directly in the main theme. When I replace my file with the original file there, it works right away. But when I put the file in the child theme, it is not working!
What am I missing here?
Cheers,
Hi, as you suggested, I deactivated absolutely all plugins except Visual composer on a testing environment
I have also activated the actual theme, so there’s no child theme
as you can see here:
https://mgn.ikanaweb.com/maison/cuisine/rehausseur-kaboost-chaise-enfant/
The picture lokking like a “confidential” (which is served from a subdomain) is not triggering the global settings for modal image, which is on “enable” : http://prntscr.com/en17ih

Thank you for your answer.
I don’t know why should i use Regenerate thumbnails plugin for images uploaded 2 days ago. I can do this procedure every day than. So i guess this is not the solution, right?
What harm can do child theme, with different CSS code than default or some php added to functions, that clearly has nothing to do with images?
No plugins that has to deal with images are added .. so why disable them?
Sorry, my answers might be stupid, cause i would like to get to the bottom of this bad images and some things are just not going together with bad images (child theme css, plugins)
Thank you for your support and time.
Hi,
It seems that the ajax request is being blocked – https://www.screencast.com/t/W63FmaM962Ky Please try to deactivate all your plugins except Visual composer to rule out any plugin interference, clear the cache and check again. Also check any modifications you might have made to the theme files, and deactivate the child theme if you use one.
Thanks

You don’t really need child theme unless you are making changes to core code.
Best way to update theme and plugins is via FTP, as you download the files from Envato/Themeforest to your PC/Mac, then upload to server.
Allows you to make backup before update, in case you need to roll back, and you HAVE all the files to do the updates as both the theme folder, and the various plugins that you happen to be using with theme.
Anyway, that’s how I do it to avoid issues.
Hello. I have newspaper theme and I’m using child theme too (apparently it helps preserve the settings?). Typically when I use child theme to update the main theme i have to switch to the main theme and then try to update, right? So I did all those things that are listed in tutorial for automatic updating (installed envato plugin, created API token…). After doinhg that it showed that the theme version was newest, but it did not install updated plugins. In tutorial it says that I can find them in some directory somewhere.. Where?
What is the best and easiest way to update this theme when using child theme? Do I need to switch from child to main for that? DO i need child theme at all?
Thank You.

Hi,
I believe that it would not be a problem if you were to use a header.php in your child theme. Please try it and let us know how it goes for you.
Thanks
Thanks,
But I am not talking about the theme headers in the “parts” directory.
The header.php is in the root directory and is not listed in the child theme documentation.
Can I just pop in a header.php file in the child theme?
Hi,
Please try as a first step to deactivate all your plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache and check to see if the problem is still there. Also check any custom code you might have entered in theme panel, or added to the theme files. If you use a child theme try switching to the main theme, because this could affect the functionality. Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks
Use Child theme.
The child theme support included in our themes is intended for developers to modify core parts of the theme without modifying the actual theme. This allows you to keep updating the theme without loosing your changes.
