Hello,

This could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

If the problem is still there please contact us on our email address at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to your site and wp-admin (login information and admin rights) so we can login and investigate. Please also include a link to this topic so we can identify you!

Thank you!

I would like to know how I can change the font of all in Newspaper website.

I do understand that we can change or select the font from theme panel > theme fonts.

My website is written by Japanese, therefore it would be difficult (or too heavy) to use custom fonts.

To change the font for Japanese within Google font (it should be “Noto Sans”), which one shall I choose or select for “Google font setting”?

I have tried so many ways to change it, it seems to not working properly.

Next, I tried to set the font-family from the child-theme.

I wrote a normal way to define the font as…

body { font-family: ‘font name’ }

It is also not working as I wish.

Please let me know if anything that I can do.

Hello rahuldungawat,

Try the code below and place it in Theme panel->Custom CSS area.

.td_social_type .td_social_info:nth-child(2) {
display: none;
}

The result is here -> http://screencast.com/t/pGl1Ae6IPRI

Bogdan, when trying to diagnose the issue, I overwrote the functions.php and style.css that was in my child theme with the newest versions from the code folder, so they are up to date.

Hi,

A descending or ascending smart list only changes the numbering sistem in the list not the order of the articles. I have tested it to my end and works properly.
In your case this could be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except Visual Composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Hello,

It appears the error points to the wodrpress directory. Please try to switch to a wp default theme to see if the error is still there. You can try to disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Also if you use a child theme you can try to switch to the main theme.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you!

OK, but even if you did not edit anything in the child theme. How old is it? When did you create it? Please always use the style.css and functions.php provided in the child theme in each version release. If you did not alter anything then there will be no consequence in deleting and using the child theme provided with the latest version of the theme: http://screencast.com/t/jZ8YLxL0
Thanks.

Please try one more thing.
Disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.
Let us know if you still have this issue without the plugins.

Thank you!

Hello,

Unfortunately if for your testing site it works properly, maybe you do require a htaccess adjustment for permalinks or the SEO yoast plugin: http://screencast.com/t/KSiSNiAGiON
I cannot say for sure. You can also try to please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Hello,

You will be able to use the child theme but only if you update it and make the necessary adjustments for future updates. A child theme is never update proof. If you alter functions.php and style.css those are files that are constantly changed in each update. They will have to be adjusted and your modifications tested with the new version each time. Please test without the child theme. Disable it for testing and see if the problem goes away without it.

Thank you!

Hi,

Please make sure to update the social counter aswell as all the other plugins found in the theme package downloaded from theme forest – http://www.screencast.com/t/0r883t9N – to the latest version. Also if you use a child theme update it too. More about the update process here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Also I have another Newspaper site using a child theme (I’ve purchased 2 licenses) which has not had these issues.

Thank you. My child theme only contains functions.php and style.css

functions.php
(<?php

/* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Newspaper 7 Child theme - Please do not use this child theme with older versions of Newspaper Theme

What can be overwritten via the child theme:

- everything from /parts folder

- all the loops (loop.php loop-single-1.php) etc

- the rest of the theme has to be modified via the theme api:

*/

/* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

add the parent style + style.css from this folder

*/

add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'theme_enqueue_styles', 1001);

function theme_enqueue_styles() {

wp_enqueue_style('td-theme', get_template_directory_uri() . '/style.css', '', TD_THEME_VERSION . 'c' , 'all' );

wp_enqueue_style('td-theme-child', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/style.css', array('td-theme'), TD_THEME_VERSION . 'c', 'all' );

}

Hi,

Of course you can use a child theme, but please read this explanation of how the child theme works and the need to update it https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/setting-up-child-theme/

Thanks

Simion, thanks for the reply. The problem is intermittent. I need to be able to use the child theme (and expect to be able to with a premium theme)… I have also cleared the cache and that didn’t help. Any other ideas?

That seems to have solved it.

Weird seeing as I didn’t have any custom styles defined in the child theme. I just created it with an empty stylesheet and created the functions.php as per the WordPress Codex documentation.

Thanks for your help, great theme by the way!

Hi,

From inspecting your site i can see that are multiple css styles overlapping the main theme style. If you are using a child-theme please disable it and see what happens. Also if u have a child-theme please make sure you have updated it to the latest version, from the package that you downloaded from Themeforest. Please let me know if you still have issues.

Thanks
