We will not force users to use one or the other. Depends on your choice. However most of the existent features and the new ones to come will only work with the tagDiv composer.

Mailchimp would be compatible with the theme, you could use that as a newsletter/subscription functionality on your website

There is a newsletter element in the tagDiv composer, in which you can enter newsletter codes, currently from only a few providers, however (Mailchimp works)

This element can only be placed on pages at the moment. For post sidebars, you can use a text widget and enter the form code in it.

The theme by itself has no email options, it does not have any settings for mailing confirmations or sending any emails to users. You will have to manage these either through the hosting if they provide such a service, or with a plugin

WPBakery can still be used with the theme and it will be provided and updated, just that the new features will not be possible with it. When both composers are active there could also be issues in some cases.

Since newspaper 8, we added this message as big grids need to be on their own full column layout. You do this in the tagdiv composer or visual composer (depending on the plugin used) by making the row with the grid full and not have a sidebar besides the big grid. The big grids were never supposed to show a sidebar next to them.

@pacoesni I believe that issue was resolved after the investigation of the case from above. It was a problem with the tagDiv composer.
Do you use the latest theme version 9.0.1? Please provide a link to one of the websites you mention.

The only required plugin is the tagdiv composer. The theme needs it to show the content blocks properly, anything beyond that plugins is entirely optional.

Seems that clicking anywhere in the page content tries to open a modal, that should happen only when clicking on images set like this

In your case when clinking on text it tries to open a modal for some reason. Could be a plugin causing this, or something loaded in the page.
There are also some errors only in that page

The other issue with the appearing slash characters “/” will be fixed as soon as possible. The quick fix is to make a small addition in a tagDiv composer plugin file here

Once the modification is made, modify the text elements where it happened and remove the unwanted slashes, they will not appear anymore after that. Sorry for the inconvenience.

So you already tried with no plugins except theme plugins active, plugins are usually the case. There are a couple of other solutions you could try

Does the issue happen for all pages you try to edit with the composer? Be sure to edit only pages that were initially built with it and contain no extra content or content that was not added with the composer.

If that is not the case here, in some similar cases the solutions from these topics worked for various composer problems, you could give them a try if possible
