Hi,
The version 4.4.4 of Visual Composer is the latest version tested and included with the theme files. We’re testing the plugin latest version, if everything is ok we will include it in the next update and only then you can update the plugin by downloading the theme latest version.
Before an update please make a backup of your current theme installation, so you can revert back to them if something goes wrong. The styling modifications or options from Theme Panel should not be affected by updating your theme, only if you have custom modification to the theme’s files you will need to re-add them as when you update the theme these files will be overwritten. Also we recommend to update your theme using FTP method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/
Thanks!
Hi,
Please try to upload Visual Composer plugin via FTP and see if it works.
Also you can check WP folder permissions. It is possible the “wp-content/uploads” directory has the wrong folder permission.
Thanks!
Hello, I have noticed that the load time for Visual Composer is very slow for me (4.4 seconds). I saw that I am running version 4.4.4, and they are now on 4.5.2. According to their update logs, it seems that the newer version would be helpful as the it’s rather large and slowing things down.
My first question is, how can I upgrade?
Once I upgrade to the newest version, will I have to set everything up again or is this all saved?
Hi,
This is not a Visual Composer issue as the latest version tested and included with the theme’s files is 4.4.4.
Please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-acces so we cant take a look and also paste a link to this conversation so we can know who you are.
Thanks!
Hi, I can’t seem to install the WPBakery Visual installer plug-in and don’t see it at all with either creating/editing pages or posts. when trying to upload the JS_composer.zip it gives me the the message “Failed to write file to disk.”

Thanks,

Hi,
Please check this only with Visual Composer and Seo by Yoast active(disable all other plugins) also clear cache and check the screen options when you edit a page it should be displayed – http://screencast.com/t/kr9jcYTm

Hi,
Newsticker block is included only in Newsmag theme, but we’re also working on a major update for Newspaper (v5.0) which will include most of the features from Newsmag like smart sidebar feature,smart lists or some of the post templates. You can take a look on our demo to make an idea about blocks that are included(and how they look on columns), post samples… – http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ and also our documentation may help – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-documentation/
Also the latest theme version is 4.6.3 which includes Visual Composer plugin(4.4.4) in /plugins folder. If you want to update please follow this guide and use FTP method – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
If you cannot see all blocks available to be added using Visual Composer please make sure that all of them are selected from settings and save – http://screencast.com/t/9TCvIFaa
Thanks!
Hi there
I am running NEwspaper 4.6.2 but when using the Visual composer I only have access to Block types 1 to 10 and missing other things like the Newsticker.
My Visual Composer version is 4.4.2
Am I missing something else?
Thanks for your help.
Hello!
We’ve purchased Newspaper 4 theme, but there is a small hiccup. After a year of operation site has become unbearably slow on relatively powerful hardware and with relatively modest load (70 concurrent users).
We have accumulated about 5 thousand articles most of which are in a single category, though we are using tags (which causes another funny side effect – thousands of cache update operations through terms_cache almost on each request).
Nevertheless, I have to give you a baseline. We’ve changed hardware over time in search of performance, so to be totally syre, we set up an empty virtual box (4GB TAM, 2 core CPU, 60GB SSD on DigitalOcean), simple LAMP server, a copy of our site and even then we were unable to get pageloads under a second (though all other plugins were enabled).
Next move was obvious and as follows (ensuring nothing beyond content, Newspaper theme and Visual Composer is present within installation):
a) Set up a new WordPress instance.
b) Populate content from production site (use wp-cli to update all links).
c) Add default Newspaper 4 theme and its default child theme, select latter as site theme.
d) Install visual composer (as recommended by theme).
d) Enable everything and set a few things up, so menus and category pages are as in production.
As a result all pages are being generated in approx. 1 second (1.09±0.13s; out of 100 measurements; page generation time), which is obviously not good enough, since under even moderate load and because of other plugins which are essential to site this time tends to grow.
What are your recommendations to gain significant performance improvements? Of course, enabling w3 total cache solves this problem for unauthenticated users, but we heavily rely on authenticated ones, so an advice would help.
Ticker feature is one of the options for home page in the visual composer. Basically need to create new top “row” in layout, then put the ticker element there, then choose what options you want …
I’m building the homepage with Visual Composer using blocks. For some reason, the fonts on the homepage won’t change.
I can go into the Theme Panel and select the fonts for the Module and Blocks Article Titles just fine and the title fonts change. That works.
Then, I’ll go to Post Content and select the font. That changes the font on the post pages themselves, but not on the homepage.
So for example, for Blocks 4 and 11 they have titles and then below the titles. The title fonts can be changed, but the text below the titles won’t change on the homepage.
What am I missing? Thanks,
Hi,
I tried this:
– deactivating all plugins without Visual Composer – no results
– cleared the cache, even minification – no results
Maybe the problem can be caused by not being able to update the visual composer. I still have version 4.4.4. Always I deactivate, delete and reinstall as said in documentation the upload stops at a specific point and not ends. After a while I get information to update again. It’s weird.
I am newbie. So it confuses me.
A little more info: Turns out, the Product Features box I’m looking for seems to just be the Icon box, with a section for text after it. Probably styled with a header tag or class so it’s formatted nicely. Maybe that’s something the Creativo guys cooked up. It’s not part of what comes in with WooCommerce.
As far as the sidebar cutting thing goes, I’m still working on it. It does seem to stem from trying to cram in too many columns in VisualComposer, but there’s still formatting issues past the first row. I’ll try to come up with a repeatable and easier to demonstrate example later today.
Hi,
What theme version do you use? Please make sure that you use the latest version 4.6.3.
Also I have checked your site and not only mobile menu doesn’t work, also ajax pagination. I found these errors in the console – http://screencast.com/t/XImhK1sVFL so please make sure that you deactivate all plugins leave only Visual Composer active, also clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN and see if you still have this issue. Also please remove any js/css minification. Let me know!
Thanks!
Hi,
You can do this by editing your post’s template files and use the do_shortcode function to place there, after the posts content any widgets you build using visual composer’s page builder. You can find more details on how to do this in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/implement-infinite-scroll-on-single-posts/#post-43481
Thanks
Hi,
I,ve try the custom css and it works but I also need that the header color is full width.
About blocks I’ve settled the Visual Composer and now it works. great!
Thanks
Marco Sutter
Hi,
@Sparton05
1. You can try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/jR1sfFPZpJ
.page .td-grid-wrap {
padding: 20px 0px 0px 0px;
}
Please provide your site url and also more details about this gap if this is not what you mean.
2. Try this custom css for slider z-index:
.rev_slider_wrapper {
z-index: 0 !important;
}
If this doesn’t work please provide your site url.
3. Please make sure that you create a megamenu properly – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-the-megamenu/
When you set a category megamenu you don’t have to add submenu items. For parent category(with subcategories) set as megamenu all subcategories will appear automatically.
If you still have issues with it please provide a link so we can take a look.
@matthieuroubaix
Please check this without any plugins active, leave only Visual Composer active and also clear cache and purge your files if you use CDN. Also please make sure that you use the latest theme update (1.7.1 – you use Newsmag theme) and also update the plugins that come with the theme files from the /plugins folder. Use thsi guide if you need to update – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-theme/ Let me know how it goes.
Also please post your issues in newsmag section – https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newsmag/
Thanks!
Hi,
Try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css: http://screencast.com/t/Igm6OGAQ
.td-header-style-8 .td-header-header {
width: 1021px !important;
margin: 0 auto;
}
.td-header-style-8 .td-header-sp-logo img {
float: left;
}
Please provide more details about your issue with blocks. What do you mean with “I can’t find them”? You don’t see any block there?
Like I said above please make sure that all block are visible from Visual Composer settings – http://screencast.com/t/qZyOGfvrT
Let me know!
Thanks!
Hi,
Please try this custom css in Theme Panel > Custom Css fro Progress bars: http://screencast.com/t/tEXg4uG5sFKz
.vc_progress_bar .vc_single_bar .vc_label {
padding: 0 1em;
}
I’m not sure what you mean with “Product Features”. Do you refer to the Woocommerce blocks? – http://screencast.com/t/0VbzTUX3ZFV They should appear if you have Woocommerce plugin active. If they don’t appear please check Visual Composer settings and make sure that you set all blocks to appear – http://screencast.com/t/ys6hbnmoPS4 and save.
Please also provide a link and more details about your sidebar issue that cuts off Visual Composer blocks.
Thanks!
Hi,
1. Please provide your site url so I can inspect this. In header style 8 logo should be centered – http://screencast.com/t/fteYsnPvjC
2. Unfortunately theme doesn’t have an option to rotate ads but you can try a plugin for this.
3. Please make sure that you have enabled all shortcodes from Visual Composer settings – http://screencast.com/t/qZyOGfvrT
Thanks!
We’re pretty new to Visual Composer, but have experimented with it using the Creativo theme before. Within that theme, it seems we have more control over a few things, such as the “Progress Bars”–we’d like to get thinner bars rather than the thick bars that it defaults to. (CSS solutions are OK, but we had a way to customize this before).
We’re also looking for a “Product Features” box–it allowed decent customization of an icon, including its color and background with a few lines of text. Solutions via an Add-On to VC are also OK–we just don’t know where it came from in the first place. It’s not available in this theme as a default it seems.
Furthermore, Visual Composer boxes put in a second column are cut off by the right sidebar–and additional rows are sometimes cut off to the left after the first row
Hi,
I have a few questions…
1. I want to create a full header Logo + a full menu (style 8) BUT with my logo on the left. Please help me!
2. How can I insert Ad banners with rotations effects? and is possible to insert an expiration date (automatically) for the banner/s?
3. If I want to customize a page with Blocks (1,2,3..etc), big Grid, Ad box…where I can fin them in Visual composer?? If I open the “ADD ELEMENT” I can’t find them…!!!
Thanks
Marco Sutter
Best way is to build your custom layout in VisuaL Composer the way you want it; and choose the blocks and modules you want, and in each one specify the content to be shown.
Once you build that ‘page’ you select it as your static page from the main WP settings > general/reading setting. That is then shown as your home page.
See the theme docs for more info.
If that was not the right answer, apologies; and wait for official tagdiv support 🙂
Hi,
Please make sure that you also try this without using additional plugins, leave just theme’s Visual Composer and Social Counter plugin’s active (make sure you also empty all caches) and the W3 Total Cache plugin using just page cache: https://forum.tagdiv.com/w3-total-cache-configuration/ then test again.
If you still get the same behavior when you update a post please let us know and provide your admin login details at contact@tagdiv.com so we can have a closer look at this. Please also include a link to this tread in your message and let us know how if goes.
Thanks
I’ve disabled all the plugins and it’s still not working. Visual Composer is activated.
