TagDiv Support,
Just to be clear, I don’t use the Visual Composer and don’t have custom pages!
So I would like to know how to set the offset for my Frontpage (index.php) and Category (?.php) pages. That’s it 🙂
Thanks
Hi Christopher,
I don’t use the Visual Composer or custom pages. Just plain and simple WordPress category.php pages and index.php.
Thanks for the link, will give it a try!
Don’t forget to enjoy the weekend 🙂
Andre
Offset is set in the visual composer for each module I believe.
You could also modify templates per the WordPress codex info, for the loop and use the offset function as found here:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/get_posts
Hi,
Can you please give us wp-access so we can check? You can send your username and password via e-mail at contact@tagdiv.com, please send along a link to this topic or specify the issue’s details.
Regarding the Visual Composer issue, you can enable it from Visual Composer Settings in WordPress Dashboard like this: http://screencast.com/t/o3w3IAYnijk
Thanks
Hello, I am getting errors when trying to save and edit posts, and the errors have to do with the Visual Composer plugin. My site is http://www.dauntlessjaunter.com, and I am still using the last version of Newspaper, not the latest 4.0.1.
The error reads when trying to save draft or schedule:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home4/domain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/classes/core/class-vc-base.php on line 330
Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home4/domain/public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/include/classes/core/class-vc-base.php:330) in /home4/domain/public_html/wp-admin/post.php on line 235

First, my Visual Composer settings were switched to work on posts as well as pages, and then I turned that off, but to no avail. This has never happened before, and I haven’t changed anything. Does anybody know what’s going on?
Hi,
The text from this post was formatted like this http://screencast.com/t/iOqBp99jkN using “Formats” tool from post toolbar. You can do it yourself using it like this http://screencast.com/t/tXNjj5ti
Here you have the post’s content: http://pastebin.com/Mnx6B7Nv
Hope this help!

Hi,
Thanks Christopher!
I have tested the plugins title and descriptions on a page build with VC and there seems to work just fine using the themes latest version(4.0.2).
Make sure you use the latest version of the theme and try disabling some plugins also.
About VC, the plugin will be included at it’s latest version on each theme update.
Thanks
Hello Christopher,
I am talking about SEO by Yoast plugin (full name of a plugin is WordPress SEO by Yoast). Force rewrite is turned on, and still can’t save my meta data.
What is interesting, I can save meta data for homepage, also build with VC, but not for any other page.
You can’t update visual composer as you don’t get a license to the commercial version when buying the theme; you get the bundled version which is a group license, which is owned by the theme technically. SO, you update VC by updating to latest version of theme. The current version of theme has latest version of VC.
I’m not having any issue with VC built pages (e.g., home page) with Yoast SEO. I have not used “WordPress SEO.” With Yoast you can specify “force write” to sometimes deal with a pesky plugin. With the SEO tool you’re using, you might check the plugin developer’s support for any known issues with Visual Composer.
Thanks.
Can you paste the full code for this post in your demo site, including text and shortcodes?
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/popular-people-who-everyone-seems-to-love/
In the demo content of the theme none of the posts it’s similar. It Will help to understand the format options using shortcodes instead of Visual Composer.
Hi,
Do you mean this happen in backend? in admin? No plugins installed, only recommended?
Can you give us access to your WP to see the issue? Could be related to a server issue!
Thanks for the message!
Hi,
The theme work only on those grid columns
- 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3
- 2/3 + 1/3
- 1/3 + 2/3
- 3/3 – full width
If you use other columns combinations you need to adjust manually the grid because was not built from start to support those combinations.
All working grids are marked with blue color: http://screencast.com/t/CFrZyVSedt9
In post to build that layout like you see in the mentioned post by you, we use shortcodes from here: http://screencast.com/t/59reoQS2cO
Thanks!
Hello,
I’ve been using your theme for few months now, and it’s great. But I noticed one problem – on pages create by wpbakery visual composer, WordPress SEO doesn’t work. When I enter title and meta description, and click Save, I get blank fileds for both Title and Meta description.
Also, when I try to update wpbakery visual composer plugin it asks for Envato Username, Secret API Key and Visual Composer License Key?
When I have the Visual Composer plugin (WPBakery) plugin enabled, every time I load a new page or the make a saved change (causing the page to re-load) I just get a white blank screen. It I hit re-fresh the page then instantly loads.
As far as I can tell, disabling the plugin stops this from happening.
I have updated the visual composer using this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/update-the-visual-composer-plugin-wpbakery/ – but the problem still persists.
I also spun up a fresh WP instance and just installed the theme – same thing.
Any suggestions?
I’m trying to replicate the format used in this demo of the site:
http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/popular-people-who-everyone-seems-to-love/
I use Visual Composer with a custom layout of 1/6 + 4/6 + 1/6. I left in blank the 1/6’s columns, and insert a block text in the 4/6 segment. But the paragraphs don’t show correctly. What is the correct proportion? And when will be solved the problem with customs layouts in Visual Composer? 1/6 + 3/6 + 2/6 in full width it’s also broken.
Hi,
I’m sorry for all the problems that you encountered with our theme. We can check your site if you send us wp-admin access. ( contact@tagdiv.com – also include a link to this post so we know who you are)
Please know that I can also send you the full amount that you payed for the theme back if you cannot use it.
you do not have to buy the visual composer plugin.
Hi,
As Christopher said the VC plugin will be updated to it’s latest version with each theme update. You can update the theme to it’s latest version(4.0.1) that includes the VC(4.2.3) latest version.
Thanks
Good morning. After updating the theme, the auto play of big slider I use in home page doesn’t work. Before updating, it worked ok just adding the attribute autoplay=”x” to the short code. You can see it in uclmtv.uclm.es
Moreover, the attribute auto play is not available in the visual composer when you add/edit a big slider, although it was before updating.

Please help me understand and fix the problem.
thnks!
Um, Newspaper 3.9.2 is using Visual Composer 4.2.2, released 6/3/14. The latest version is 4.2.3 released 6/12/14 (per Code Canyon, anyway). So, “pretty outdated” ? Not really. Updates to Visual Composer come with updates to theme, once it’s been tested compatible. VC releases have bugs too 🙂
If you’re running an older version of the theme, all you need to do is update it to get latest compatible version of VC.
You might want to research more about the plugin. It’s not free, costs $25, but it’s included with the theme as part of the theme purchase/license and tied to the theme, as explained on Theme Forest in the features line up for the theme.
Hope that helped.
I think the version of Visual Composer provided with my download is pretty outdated. Can we get an updated version of it? Or its just a free version of the plugin?
Hi,
A solution would be to use http://winmerge.org/ to compare your theme with the latest version of the theme and identify the modified files.
Thanks
Yeah, fonts are messed up. Also, in the visual editor, the Heading 1 and Heading 2 styling are way too big. Anyways, the I like the editor style just needs a little tweaking. I guess it’s for people using custom Google fonts?

Also, how does the new Formats work? I have no idea how to use them.
The Tabs on visual composer are not working with speedbooster enabled.
I think there is an issue too for us using the Jetpack Slideshow, kindly do look it up. The gallery is not loading.
Overall, the update is awesome. Thank you!
Big slide module in Visual Composer isnt working with the 980px layout
