The Mobile Theme is being neglected… some fixes (the CSS on the captions) were not fully implemented, some new functions (to disable the toTop button) were released only for desktop and mobile (but not for the Mobile Theme).
Also, the Theme is throwing some errors in the php log:
/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp-booster/wp-admin/tagdiv-view-header.php on line 26, for example.
Other than that, it is working well for me.
Hi, Vlad!
Sadly, it is not fully fixed, yet…
I removed the CSS codes, but some captions were behaving strangely.
Even more strange that some captions were ok, only some of them were wrong.
If you can make a note for the developers to look a little bit further on this issue, we’d be glad.
I am using Big Grid Full 5 on my home page and have given five different categories for each of the five grids using the multiple taxonomies box under Filters. However the category is not shown and I guess this is because I have disabled the meta info on pages. But is there a CSS code or some adjustments that I can make to overcome this and display the category for each of these five categories?
My second query is that there is no option for adding the custom title in the Big Grid unlike the Blocks which provides an option for this. How can I add the title?
Thanks.
Hello everybody,
is there any option like CSS or some other customized code that can prevent doubled posts for pagination when we do not want to or can use the Offset-Function? The Unique Article Function does not seem to work.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Karen
Hello,
You are probably uploading the whole theme package. You have to upload only the theme zip file, not the whole package which contains other items
– https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821510-Theme-is-missing-the-style-css-stylesheet-error
Install via WordPress -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/
Install via FTP -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Requirements for Newspaper => https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
After installing the theme and activating it you will find in the Prebuilt websites all the theme demos and you can import whatever demo you want => https://www.screencast.com/t/6rf5g0Dxc0K
Thank you!
How do I resolve this?
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme installation failed.
Hello Vlad,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately nothing is clear. How can I save the Ciritcal CSS?
What do you mean with “on template you have only the generate CSS”? How to save the generated CSS? What is the difference between CSS generated on pages and on templates?
Could you please exlplain all with screenshots?
Thank you!
Hello!
On the pages you have 2 buttons: Remove and Generate critical CSS
On template you have only the generate CSS. On pages you can directly generate CSS like on the templates. Or you can remove all the css and generate it.
I hope this was helfpul!
Thank you!
Hello,
1. I saw you have only one header, you can import more from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/eBWgEj03E
2. the option to remove the unused CSS is used only on pages and this option analyzes the website and all CSS that it finds that is not used is removed. Using the Generate critical CSS option will keep the CSS (is not remove the used CSS) but it is loading the necessary CSS for the first look in the website header and the rest of the CSS will be load in later https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
3. To improve the core web vitals you need to optimize your website also, you can check this article https://www.wordstream.com/blog/ws/2021/04/02/improve-core-web-vitals and this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/guys-it-is-possible-to-get-good-speed-with-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
We have updated our staging site to V11 and have what seems to be an additional empty row inserted which is causing css issues, don’t seem to have to option to remove through page editing.
Thanks
Hello,
If you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here: https://tagdiv.com/how-to-increase-page-loading-speed/ you’ll be able to increase the speed of your website.
Also, to increase the page speed you can check these similar topics for more solutions:

Please give it a try and follow the steps which I presented above about page speed.
Also, check our guide from here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Please make sure to use our newest tool called tagDiv CSS Analyzer which comes in handy to resolve some of your issues. Take a look at the video guide here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnkVapqhIHc
“This custom tool performs an automatic test to find missing CSS rules applied by user interaction. Moreover, you can manually interact with a chosen section/component from the page while the tool records all the involved CSS. It will generate the final CSS file for this page and also will split the rules in Critical CSS to be loaded in the website’s header.” ( https://tagdiv.com/whats-new-in-the-newspaper-theme-10-4-update/ )
We tested our tool on our demos, and we have such great results!
Take a look at this topic because it could help you: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/css-analyzer-step-by-step-and-doubts/
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
Update wiped all of my settings in the Theme Panel, most critically all of my custom CSS.
Thank you for responding regarding how to turn off automatic updates. However, my most critical question was not addressed.
Why would the update to version 11 wipe all of my settings in the Theme Panel (especially my custom CSS)?
On your What’s New in v 11 page, it states “The performance optimizer tagDiv CSS Analyzer Tool removes all the unnecessary CSS, generates the Critical CSS for the above the fold, and moves the non-critical CSS to the bottom of the page.”
Is that why all of my code under Custom CSS in the Theme Panel was removed? The custom CSS that I entered was very necessary and now has to all be redone.
What can be done to ensure that after I redo all of my custom CSS in the Theme Panel (and all of the other settings for that matter) that it won’t be removed by another update again?
Hi,
I clicked “tagDiv CSS Analyzer” -> “Run CSS Analyzer” in Desktop Admin Top Bar. After that I waited half an hour for the analysis to complete (don’t know why this has to take that long). After the analysis took place, I pressed the “Generate Critical CSS” buttton. Screnshot: https://prnt.sc/15q9mmy
And then? Nothing happens. There is no “Save” button or something like that. The only thing I can press is the X. Then I get the window message “Are you sure you want to leave? Please make sure you have saved the CSS.” But where? There is no way to save it. It feels like I wasted half an hour.
Please provide a tutorial of how to generate and apply the Critical CSS. Please also explain how to generate the Critical CSS for mobile.
Thank you!
Can someone give me the css command to have all the texts (posts) aligned ‘justify’ (in additional screen or CSS file)
I also need to know where to change / modify the font for the posts in the css file
Thank you
Hi guys, i’ve made a few changes on the homapage today and i had to re run the TAGDIV CSS Analyzer.
I’ve deactivated all the non TagDiv Plugin before running the process cause i had already problems in the past. The Analyzer scan everything as in the past and i save the CSS as required but when i try to exit the page it told us “Are you sure you want to leave? Please make sure you have saved the CSS.?” and the green botton that was there before remain grey.
Any help in fix this?
Thanks and keep doing your amazing job!
Best
Antonio
Hello,
URL: https://prive.tipsmaker.net/ (staging)
Old URL to be updated : https://www.tipsmaker.net/. (Theme V.9)
Theme version 10.4
Updated from 9.xxx and i can see few new css files like “legacy” etc.
A good page example where the problem described below is happening
https://prive.tipsmaker.net/efage-gero-soto
In order to override css files i created a style.css in child theme’s folder. Styles from this file do not overide all default css.
As far as i can understand using Theme panel’s Custom code filed is the only way to override all css files. Including legacy_css files etc.
And it works. It is very incovinient to edit this field instead of a custom file, nevetheless it works.
BUT when the site loads, it first loads the default css and then changes to the css used in Custom code.
Widths load default and after a second they resize to the custom style.
Even with cache enabled.
How can i change this behaviour ? While the theme is great, this one gives a very bad impression to the visitor.
cheers
Pan
Hi Amit, indeed you are right, it seems that when you are using the CSS Analyzer this is deliver a part of the critical css for mobile theme too.
I added this on our list to inspect and find a fix.
Thank you for letting us know about this problem.
Here is the screenshot:
1. Cloud library: https://snipboard.io/dirNg7.jpg
I said that I can not see any cloud library template in the section.
2. Tag Div CSS Analyzer: https://snipboard.io/0GQiT8.jpg
Coming to the second issue If I remove the unused CSS will it affect the layout of the theme. In addition to this, what is the
purpose of “Generate critical CSS”
3. How would I improve the core web vital status?
Awaiting your reply?
Hello!
I have taken a look at your website and somehow your ads are being blocked: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/firstnews.pk/LfjaOkYQ/
Remove that external CSS and check. If that is the issue then remove the code.
Also try to re-add your ad code in the theme.
Let me know the result.
Thank you!
Hi,
I have cleared the CSS generated file, clear the advanced cache and it seems that it solves the problem.
Not sure why?
For some reason I still have no settings in the footer even after backup-restore from theme settings.
But I don’t have the footer appearing. But no control on that specific page.
https://snipboard.io/dqf9QB.jpg
Trying other subsite I do have access to the footer menu settings on the same installation.
I’m using a multisite system I know that the theme is not 100% compatible.
Hello,
This button => https://www.screencast.com/t/XQu3eQoDL deletes the code if it is disabled, but if the option is enabled on mobile, then just hide it.
Unfortunately, for the mobile theme, the option to disable back to top has not been implemented, the solution is to hide it with code CSS or delete it from the theme files.
Thank you!
The mobile theme shows default colors when we use CSS Analyzer on a single post. It simply avoids all color customizations in theme panel >> Mobile theme >> theme color.
We have lost the Footer settings in the control panel and have now a line with Copyright:
© Newspaper WordPress Theme by TagDiv and footer menu
This has erased the previous information.
https://snipboard.io/SULFs7.jpg
https://snipboard.io/t0clDP.jpg
I will clear the CSS analyzer and cache to see if this can help
