Hi guys!
Is there any possibility of existing some bug using the theme with yoast because of some of the latest updates?
I ask because I have run my website in web.dev (offical google tool).
A few months ago, I score 100 in SEO but now I score only 64.
Here are the error messages from web.dev:
1. Does not have a <meta name="viewport"> tag with width or initial-scale
2. Document does not have a meta description
3. Document doesn’t use legible font sizes
4. Tap targets are not sized appropriately
I also run the newspaper and newsmag demos in web.dev and the results are the following:
1. Document does not have a meta description
2. Tap targets are not sized appropriately
All of this is very strange because I remember that a few months ago, your demos also scored 100. Now they score 90.
So… can it be a bug with yoast? Can it be a bug in the theme? Or maybe google just changed the rules?
Thank You!
Hi All,
I am new to Newspaper theme. I am using version 9.6.1. I want to remove posts from demo so that I can post my own content but when I am doing so I am getting “Error in moving to Trash”.
Requesting your urgent help.
Hi,
There are two ways you could do this.
You can import just the homepage if you want to, without installing the actual demo. The homepage of that demo is available in the cloud library
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
This is the page – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/homepage-fast-news/
Then you can set this page as homepage in WordPress – https://forum.tagdiv.com/homepage-how-to-build-and-set-it/
Also import the cloud post template used by the demo – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/dell-will-invest-125-billion-in-chinas-tech-in-the-next-5-years/
Or you can install the demo with content – https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/ which will import all of the above, also the header customization, the stylesheet and different theme panel settings which will replace your current settings.
Regardless of what you choose the posts that you have created will not be affected. All the post are kept in the website database. If you want to keep them safe make periodic database backups, this is even recommended in general.
Let me know if you need help or you have more questions.
Thanks
Hello,
I am trying to increase the width of my website. I am looking at an demo newpaper site that is 1400px wide. My website http://www.boxlifemagazine.com is about 1067px wide.
Thank you
Thanks for your answer, i do not use tgComposer for menu, because i made my website with previous theme version and if i use a demo from library there are some bugs and problem for my website.
There is another kind to show on mobile menu section the top bar menu?
Hi,
I have checked this on our demo and you was right, for 1-2 second the thumbs are gray and only after that are load the image.
We’ll make some deep investigation for this problem, and we’ll try to find a solution for this as soon as possible.
For the moment you can deactivate our lazy load from theme panel and try some plugins.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
You need to delete ( delete not not replace the content) the post from posts that come with demo after that you need to remove the url from google search -> https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en after you can add new post using your content.
Thank you!
I don’t quite know what this presumes, with the tagDiv composer you can build pages, it has a few multipurpose elements that you can use for a landing page
– https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/buttons/
Also check out some cloud library page examples, sections and other elements
– https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All
This would be all I can think of in the matter. Maybe you need more advanced landing page capabilities, that could only be achieved with plugins.
Hi,
If you like a demo you can install theme without content, please check our documentation -> Installing Demos – Installing Demos
Also if you want only the homepage layout you can get this from tagDiv Cloud Library or you can create one -> How to Create Beautiful Homepages with Newspaper Theme – https://tagdiv.com/how-to-create-homepages-with-newspaper-theme/
Also the post should work properly if you have used only the WordPress editor, but the pages in most cases will need to be recreated.
But first will be recommended to make a full backup to your website and database.
Thank you!
Hello
I am designing the homepage of my Blog and the homepage of Newspaper Fast News demo is the perfect design I have been looking for. I am eager to import the template of it, but I have published a lot of single posts on my Blog. So if I import this template, will the content of my single posts be changed by it? Because I used to import another template, which changed the content of what I had published, making me so annoyed. Therefore, I am worried about this problem a lot. If it will change the content, are there any ways to protect that from happening? If yes, please inform me.
By the way, would you please provide me with the instructions about how to design the content of it after I import the template, such as how to make the headline, how to upload the images, how to adjust the characters and so on. I will appreciate it a lot if you could provide me a detailed instruction about how to design the homepage step by step.
I would be more than grateful if you could reply to me at your earliest convenience. Looking forward to your reply.
Regards
Hugo
I have a site already and just want to switch themes, but with the layout of the home page on the demo site. How would you do this normally? The builder is so different to my current theme – I just want an easy way to insert my posts and categories etc into the layout and get rid of the dummy stuff. I tried doing it from scratch but I can’t work out what blocks are used in the demo… Sorry for the dumb question, but I’m new to this.
Thanks for your reply. I tried with several other mobile phones as well but could not see the same. The picture that you linked is not the sidebar that I meant.
However, when I uninstalled the demo and designed my own (as a replica of “fitness blog”) the problem got solved.
But I do need some customization help as well. I’ll be making a separate thread for the same.
In the theme panel’s ADS, when I put and save Google ads, it would stop from loading. I can not save in all ADS such as Header.
My website is a site created based on a demo called Journal.
https://gyazo.com/46332d0b6e9f4323f10d0145216098ef
In demo i see this lovely icon like this:- https://www.screencast.com/t/vpA1nlDLURV
but when i install this theme those icons are disappeared, why?
please make a solution.
Hi,
What exactly does not look as in the demo? Please let me know and we will investigate, what demo did you install and what does not look as in the demo after installing it. The default demo does not use any cloud library templates. It uses default templates only.
In the example you provided you use a big grid 5 and below it a block 4. So this template is not suited to be applied for multiple categories. Please use category grids and loops as I mentioned above. Then the template can be applied to all categories and there will be no problem.
Normal blocks and grids will always show the same content according to their filtering. Category grids and loops will show the proper content for each category. Edit that template and instead of the big grid 5 use a category grid, below it use a loop. That would be all there is to it.
For the tags only one template can be set, in general. You can use a loop element in the tag template as the main content, with a sidebar containing a block sorted by latest for example, like these tag template examples https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Tag
If you preview and edit one of those templates you can see that a loop element is used
– http://prntscr.com/n3i85w
The loop doesn’t require any filtering, it will do it automatically depending on what is currently viewed. So that same loop can display for example posts that have the tag “reviews” when that tag page is accessed, or posts with the tag “wordpress” when that tag page is accessed.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hi,
Unfortunately the video background option is only for desktop version for the moment, maybe in coming updates will be available on mobile version too ( what you see now on mobile is just a thumb, is not the video ).
Sorry for the inconvenience!
This can be seen on this demo as well: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_construction/
Thank you for your understandings!
Hello,
I have played around with this for hours. The default demo theme is very narrow. It does not look like your default demo as advertised. I have been told my support staff several times that in order to make it look like the demo you show (with the wider width), that I have to use the cloud templates. So I’ve got several set up, here’s one: https://businessbolts.com/reviews
This is set up to be wider which is what I want and like your default demo. The problem for me is that I CANNOT use that new cloud template for all my categories. There’s a problem with the filter. If I leave it set on ‘all categories’ then it each of my category pages displays the same category. If I set the filter for ‘reviews’ like I’ve done on this one then all my category pages show the reviews articles. It’s nuts. So I thought I had to create a new category cloud template for each category. If this is not true then please let me know how to do this.
The problem then is that since there’s no way to assign different tag pages for each tag now I can either just use the default tag template (which isn’t wide) or I can have all my tag pages show the exact same posts. Obviously that’s no good. The theme should be showing the right posts per tag page.
Can you please help explain this?
Sincerely,
Lisa
Hi,
Indeed that demo do not use the thumbs size, that demo have a problem and we’ll fix it as soon as possible, if you want to have the same results you can replace the blocks with flex blocks, on those you can change the image size and set it on full size
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/l9LSJuuZzc20
Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thank you for you understanding!
Hi,
The posts will be safe, they are kept in the website database. So deleting the theme, reinstalling it, updating it, will not affect the posts.
You can install any demo you like, note that this will import new theme panel settings and additional design where needed (stylesheet). If you have a demo currently installed everything related to it will be removed when installing a new one
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/installing-demos/
However in order to be safe, please consider making a full backup before beginning. There are guides online about making backups in WordPress.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks
Hello,
thank you for the great work.
I want to install a demo page. However, when clicing install I do see the warnings and all but I can’t see the button where I can say yes, install.
Not sure what to do now?
Thanks!
Hi,
This is a category page https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/tagdiv-fashion/tagdiv-vogue/
The template used is a predefined template, template 1 – http://prntscr.com/n30wix
This is a tag page – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/tag/wordpress/
The width of both these templates is the default theme width, they do not use cloud templates. Only cloud templates can be created/edited with the composer
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Category
– https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Tag
In these you can stretch the rows if you want to have an even wider design, an example
– http://prntscr.com/n30ye1
A category template can be set for each category if you want to, a tag template can only be used in general, not per tag.
To display the posts in a category template use category grids and loop elements, this way you can apply the template to multiple categories
– http://prntscr.com/n30zjq – http://prntscr.com/n30zp1
The loop element can also be used in a tag template. Loops will show dynamic content, so for example if you add a loop element in a tag cloud template, it will always show the proper content regardless of the tag currently viewed, it will adapt. This is opposite to using normal grids and blocks which require filtering. A filtered block or grid will always show the same content.
Note that if you want wider content in pages you will have to create each page in the composer with this in mind. A general width setting does not exist.
So while for posts, categories, tags etc you can apply cloud templates, pages will each have to be designed as needed.
Please let us know if you have more questions or need help.
Thanks
Hi,
I think that you do not quite understand how our theme is working, please try to check our documentation to understand better how to use our theme.
Newspaper Theme Documentation -> https://tagdiv.com/category/documentation/
Installing Demos -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-installing-demos/
Fast-Start Your Site: 7 Fully Customizable Demos to Capture the Crowd! -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-7-new-fully-customizable-demos/
Category Templates: ‘How to’ Tips and Useful Best Practice Examples -> https://tagdiv.com/find-whats-new-category-templates/
tagDiv Cloud Library Tag Templates -> https://tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-tag-templates/
Also you do not need to make a different category template for each category ( you do this only if you want to have a different design for a specific category and you’ll set that template on that category ).
Please check our documentation about Block settings guide, there you’ll find the filter section -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
Also please provide some more details about the demo that you have install, and a link were I can see the different from your demo install.
If you have more questions please let me know them.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi,
This is the default Mega Menu function for header section, as you can see in our demo here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/eTfzHDJgx8i Please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/ for more details about the mega menu. If you need more assistance in this case, please provide more details.

Hi,
That demo doesn’t have the AMP plugin active, it can be checked out on mobile as it has the mobile theme active. The AMP variant will look exactly the same.
Now after the latest update, to test AMP you can add to the URL this /?amp we have updated the documentation – https://tagdiv.com/amp-newspaper-theme/
There is an issue with the AMP comments currently, meaning that the fields of the comments don’t have a description or placeholder – http://prntscr.com/n2zr14
For this issue there is a quick fix in this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-and-mobile-theme/
I could take a look if there are problems when using our mobile theme and AMP. Please post a link to the website so I can test with the validator.
Thanks
