Hey Guys, I like the header style of craft Ideas demo and the way top menu + logo + main-menu looks and wants to do the same without installing the demo cuz it then affects another styling of category tags etc. So it would be really helpful if u can provide the styling or the code snippet which I can then put in my child theme stylesheet.
I have tried it by selecting the same header style and all but cannot achieve the same style for top menu + logo + main menu.
reply ASAP.
Thanks

hello,

I’ve used custom CSS for transparent page with black demo into my website.
http://www.screencast.com/t/TzpjlSfXyjy

.td-header-header {
border-bottom: 1px solid #353535;
}
.td-black .td-video-template-bg {
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.4);
}
.td-black .td-video-template-bg-small{
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.7);
}
.td-black .td-smart-list-dropdown-wrap .td-smart-next,
.td-black .td-smart-list-dropdown-wrap .td-smart-back {
color:#fff;
}
.td-black .post {
background-color: transparent;
}
.td-black .td-video-template-bg
.td-black .td-video-template-bg-small
{
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.8);
}
.td-black .td-main-content-wrap,
.td-black .td-category-grid,
.td-black .td-category-header,
.td-black .td-big-grid-post .td-module-thumb,
.td-black .td_module_14 .td-module-meta-holder,
.td-black .td-post-template-4 .td-post-title,
.td-black .td-post-template-6 .td-post-header-holder,
.td-black .td-post-template-8-box,
.td-black .td-smart-list-dropdown-wrap .td-smart-list-dropdown,
.td-black .td_module_mx3 .td-module-meta-info {
background-color: rgba(0,0,0,0.6);
}

.td-black .td-page-content,
.td-black .td-post-content,
.td-black .wpb_text_column,
.td-black .td_block_text_with_title,
.td-black .woocommerce #tab-description {
color: #bbb;
}

But the problem/awkward thing shows in video template.
The body seems so naked.

Hi,

i m trying to use Wine Aroma demo for one site, to develop pages etc and i run on problem with thin white lines between rows.
For example, default Home page:
– i m using white background, to avoid boxing
– only 1st row has CSS values: Row has border top with 80. I ve switched that row to 1 column type. Inside is one element, text, with CSS values: margin-top 650 and margin-bottom 50
– next row is as in theme, with no CSS margin values, and as in demo only icons has CSS margin values margin-bottom 30
– all other rows dont have CSS margin values

Since i m using color for background for each row, and its not default white, i ve run on strange bug or issue.
Between 1st and 2nd row there is no white line, but for each next pair (between 2nd and 3rd, 3rd and 4th etc), i m getting white lines between rows.
I ve tried to put 0 for top and bottom margins, but it stays the same, white lines appear again.
But, if i clone 2nd row, then entire page loses those white lines, and everything seems ok.
Since i don’t need 2nd row doubled, i wonder if there’s other solution out there and what i m missing.

Similar thing is for some other pages. Products page for example. 1st row has 2 elements. Everything is ok, with next rows and space between them, but if i delete second element from 1st row, again white lines start showing between rows.

Btw, i like these new multi-purpose demos, thumbs up. 🙂

Hi,

We are facing a few issues in customising up the Homepage.
pls refer the demo link- http://testing.tele.net.php7-33.phx1-2.websitetestlink.com/

1- we need one more menubar on the top, just like the green menu bar, with the categories. How to add the same?
2- how to make this ( ref point no.1) menubar 2 vertical on the left hand side of the page?
3- The content is the posts is left aligned. How to make it justified align?
4- go to Footer>> Category drop down>> the colour of the text need to be changed. how to do it? WE have used Footer style number- 9
5- On the home page, we are getting just the tile/ heading of the article. It is not showing excerpt. How to add that under selected sections?

Regards
Meha

Hi all,
Recently I installed the coffee blog theme of Newspaper8. Everything looks but at the homepage, the featured image of my blog looks way bigger than the real theme image and the title looks too small as compared to real theme title.

1. I tried adjusting the title length at the homepage via TD composer. It only increases the size of the featured image not the title.

Theme: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_blog_coffee/

My homepage image: https://prnt.sc/j20suz

Small title - Big Feature image

Hi there,
I was wondering if there could be a guide on how to create the round images like it is shown in your Flex Box Demo.

I would like to feature a field for users to enter their address and hopefully have it powered by google so that the address automatically comes up after the user enters the first few characters of their address. Please tell me this is possible. I am new to Newspaper — dumb it down for me:)!

If it helps, I want to add it to the top slider in the “Construction Demo” — or, create a sidebar so that it appears in the top portion of the site.

Hi,

I am using the Newspaper 8.7 Black template, and I can’t work out how to arrange the menu items / categories the way I want them in the menu that is headed “World News” on the demo version of Black. It’s the menu in the demo with these categories listed: “World”, “Photography” “Health” “Recipes”, “Arts”. When i replaced the titles of those categories with my own category titles it now orders them alphabetically in this menu, and I can find no way of rearranging them.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you,

WUD

Hello jblader,

It seems that your website is empty as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/XCbdJOX7k For the beginning, try to install a demo with content and check the basin theme functionality. Also, try to read the theme documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/ to familiarize with our product.

Thanks for the message!

Hello tonejarvis,

Our AMP version was tested and should work an expected as you can see here -> https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_crypto/td-post-ripple-ceo-and-ethereum-co-founder-bash-ico-industry/amp/ You can check the AMP functionality using this link. I do not know what tool you’re checking because there are a lot and not all return a valid result, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Escobar,

Make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches and check the results! If the problem is still there, I recommend you to make a new install to another subdomain for testing. If you will check our demo tutorial you will see that Big Grid is responsive.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello Rohit,

Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/

One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/

Hello,

I recently purchased the Newspaper theme, and when installed, the theme doesn’t appear to look as it does in the demo.

I understand that other changes might need to be made to obtain the look that is seen in demo’s of themes.

What steps can I take to make that happen?

Thanks.

Wordpress 4.9.5 is installed. Newspaper 8.7.2 theme installed and activated.
Then installed a demo but no pictures are displayed on any page. De-activated the demo and just tried to build a simple test page but even here no luck. Images that I upload do not get displayed, not even when I instead use images that are hosted elsewhere on the web and I use a direct URL.

So I tested it with another wordpress theme and here it is working. Images get shown. So the problem is somewhere in the newspaper theme and it’s compatibility with my hoster’s configuration.

Can you help and suggest where the problem could be? I have no other plugins installed that could cause a conflict. Website is http://www.pwsplash.com/

Hello,

Did you alter the comments on your site? By default the counter shows like so: https://www.screencast.com/t/8hq5UrzYe
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wordpress-news-magazine-charts-the-most-fashionable-new-york-couples-in-2016/
We cannot replicate this issue as the comments do not display like on your site. You use disqus and our own theme comments do not work with disqus. The theme counter can only count the theme comments. Not comments coming from a plugin. If you want to remove the theme comments bubble, you can remove it from the function here: https://www.screencast.com/t/zldFYSuA

Thank you!

Hello,

Please test big grid 1 here to see the responsiveness: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-1/
As for the second request, yes it is possible if you use the different screen sizes in the tagdiv composer. Basically you create 2 blocks. One that is only shown on desktop/tablets and is hidden for mobile devices and the second one that is hidden on tablets and desktop and only shows up on mobile devices. Use these buttons to change settings based on device: https://www.screencast.com/t/7Dg5tS5bQBW

Hello,

The fitness demo has the orange color hardcoded. You will have to change it from the demo style.css: https://www.screencast.com/t/iZq0rGUl

Catalin, Thanks for your reply.
Let’s start from the logo, I am using text logo not the image logo, you could have noticed, if you have checked it, it is text logo, header style 10, on News Week theme demo.
So why theme is not resizing the logo for mobile devices?

Second, about the sign in / join buttons.
Of course i am aware that the styles are different for desktop and mobiles, and that is exactly why i opened this topic to get help to make it the same. I mean the theme is one, so why should i have different view on mobile devices? Just answer me. Styles are different is not the answer, because styles should not be different. I am just asking for help to either make 2 buttons in desktop view or 1 button on mobile view, so the website will be the same for any device. Just tell me how and what to edit in the theme editor.

Thanks.
