when I use travel guides theme scale is different.
My mean is your travel guides view demo more small grid than me. my theme scale is more big than you.
How can I make adjust theme scale(width). Sorry for my poor english 🙂
Any change in this status?
- tagDiv’s planned NewsPaper or NewsMag support of a second sidebar
- Coding scope required to implement one (any open source efforts here?)
Is it possible to simulate a second sidebar in the NewsPaper Theme by having a 2-column layout in the main area? Is there a demo example of this?
Thanks!
Yes, I know that my blog titles are not in caps. I am not talking about post titles. I am referring to the Block Title. I know how to use the block settings. When I put in “Latest Posts” it always displays “LATEST POSTS” on my webpage.
Again, I notice at your page (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/) that your block headlines (ie. Block 13 – on 2 columns) is not in all caps. However, on my page (http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/) my Block Titles are always in all caps (to see this, scroll to the middle and see “LATEST POSTS”). Can you direct me to a way that I can correct this?
Hello,
Sorry but there is an issue with the importer in the current version that will grab the demo content even if not selected. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will fix it in the next theme version.
Thank you!
Hello,
Css works in cascades. If you have more than 1 rewrite on the same element you will be able to see the cascades happen. The default color is blue. If you cahange to a demo that changes the color to green as the news magazine demo does and then set your own custom color again, the rewrites will be seen on the front-end especially on a slow connection. In this case you can increase your site loading speed so this effect will be less visible. Please use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
Thank you!
Hello,
The class is just a simple body class that is added to each demo so we can create specific css that affects only that particular demo and not others as well. CSS is very specific so you have to wrap everything in it;s own class if you do not want to create a code that applies to all the other demos as well. Each demo has it;s own class. The black version has td-black, the news magazine demo has a class of td-magazine etc.
Each demo in particular has it’s own class.
Thank you!
Hello,
Please help, I do not import sample data demo.
Thank you!
This was actually after installing the News Magazine demo. Is that supposed to happen?
hello there, i am curious a lot of how the custom body class feature works. by default when i choose the black demo pages in newspaper > custom code > custom body class it is by default contain text “td-black”
it was confusing me to figure out why my i was not able to customize the background from the theme colors, background image. then finally i figured out that the text “td-black” is the issue..
so i just wonder about how it works..where this td-black link to/from. is it only secret code from newspaper developers as the mark of the demos. because i tried to use td-blue nothing’s changed.
haha.. hope u mind to explain a little. thanks.
My website: https://inspiraonline.uk/
If you visit the homepage and scroll down, you will see a section called “Development Posts”.
I am using Block 5 module for that section, but the issue is even if I set the post count to 3, the section is displaying the post thumbnails vertically when it should be showing them horizontally as your demo does.
Example: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-3/ (MOST POPULAR section at the bottom, just above footer)
I can send a few screenshots if you wish.
Hi there!
I just installed your theme and so far I looove it!!! Thanks! however on the homepage there is a lot of spacing between blocks and between the images using the Big grid full 8, on your demo it shows very little space between images but I can’t get it to narrow… how do I do it?
Thanks for your response. Where would I enter the code for the read more buttons to be rounded?
For the headlines…I notice in this link (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/) that your block headlines (ie. Block 13 – on 2 columns) is not in all caps. However, on my page (http://e50.4da.myftpupload.com/) these headlines are always in all caps (to see this, scroll to the middle and see “LATEST POSTS”). I cannot find a way to correct this. While we’re here, could you also show where to make the block with a custom color? Thank you!

Hi,
That is how the modules look on that particular demo – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_recipes/ and it was a design choice for this demo
If you would like to enable the meta for the modules you can use this code
– https://www.screencast.com/t/0OcBxOD1k
You must enter the code in Theme panel->Custom Css
.td-recipes .td_module_wrap .td-module-meta-info {
display: block;
}
Thanks
Hi,
Please provide more details as to where exactly you wan to add this border on the block. You can choose from these available header styles for the blocks – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-header-1/
If you are trying to set a border on a whole block you can do it like this – https://www.screencast.com/t/Be6ag0C57B
If you have a different problem, like modifications made to these elements are not saving properly, please follow this tutorial and make the modifications if needed – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Thanks
Hi,
Please note that the demo is custom made and it is not exactly the same as the demo that you can install, and some settings on blocks are different because the categories are different. The filter is meant to show all the categories, unless specific category ID’s are entered in the required field. Here you can see that the demo is using the same filtering option, based on category ID’s – https://www.screencast.com/t/DGeKnz6HaBxE
So you must use this filter and enter the categories that you want displayed, since there is no option to exclude a category from the list at the moment.
Thanks
Hi,
Please keep in mind that the theme is fully compatible with the Reviews on Google SERP section as you can see on our demo and demonstrated above. I see that the reviews are present on the page structure
– https://www.screencast.com/t/YTyXtdrv6cq
In order to achieve best results in this regard, you should use the Seo Yoast plugin to do these changes and optimizations. Maybe this guide will help you in this matter

Thanks
Hi. Still. Something is not right. As you can see on default demo version of newspaper, there are no “featured” category showing on those lines. I use EXACTLY the same layout as demo, and I have “Featured” showing…
The perfect example is the “Don’t miss it” section, which I have not touched at all. In demo site there is no Featured, on my website there is showing…
Theres must be a way to disable it.
Can someone please direct me how to shut off the menu in newspaper that pops in vertically from the RH side of the page? I think in the demo it was sell newspapers or something to that effect
Thank you for any assistance
BWP
how do I create new custom sidebars and delete existing once like td_demo_sidebar_fashion ?
Hello,
The height of these blocks cannot be changed. They have a fixed layout that cannot be altered without customization. DO your blocks look any different than this example?
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-13/
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-18/
If so, it probably means you did not regenerate your thumbnails after switching themes. Please use the force regenerate plugin and regenerate the thumbs.
Thank you!
Hello,
The images in your sidebar are different because you use 3 different blocks on your sidebar https://www.screencast.com/t/vOIsGeMSY
Please only use one block and filter it to show 3 posts. That way you will get the same image on all of the posts.
Please use this lin to see the different blocks and how they show up on the front-end https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/block-1/
Thank you!
How do I reduce the margins on Posts for only the main body of text, while leaving images alone? I want to emulate the readability of Medium blog posts: see example below.
https://medium.com/message/lets-talk-about-margins-14646574c385
Notice how large the left and right margins are for the text, but images are unaffected. This allows for the text itself to be nice and large, and thus very readable on all resolutions.
——
I also noticed that when the width of the browser is reduced to about ~700-800 pixels on that Medium example, the font also reduces in size by just a smidge. Because I’ll be reducing the margins for the main body text of posts, I want to also increase the size of the font to make it more readable. But if I change it to a static size, say 18, I still want it to be responsive and reduce in size. If I successfully adjust the text margins mentioned above and increase size of body text, will I need to add a custom @media CSS code to make sure the font size is still responsively reduced or will it happen still? Because right now it doesn’t do that on a demo post on my website, so I doubt it will when I adjust the margins.
http://wuche.gg/2017/03/31/top-tip-how-to-find-your-signature-scent-this-spring-3/
What would be the proper code to make sure my font is responsive? I’m guessing it has to do with @media and font-size.
Thanks for your help in advance!
Hi,
We are aware of this issue with the demo, and are currently investigating the cause of the problem. A solution for this will be provided as soon as possible. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused you.
Thank you for understanding!
