I have installed the 1.2 version of tagDiv Cloud Library plugin, but when I want to use a template for single, i don’t see singles templates, or search, or category or another templates. I just have Blocks, Footers, Homepages, Pages and Sections templates. Please help me, because I have installed a full demo of classy magazine and the single template doesn’t work fine. The ‘sidebar’ column that have the single template doesn’t work and it going down in the single layout and not properly in right side.

This is an example of my page and a single post with the problem, please scroll down for see the problem: https://elestatal.mx/ultima-hora-levantan-al-periodista-marmiko-en-veracruz

Hello

I have quite much white empty space on both sides when displayed on desktop. This applies both to the homepage content (not header and footer) as well as blog post template, pages template, tag template and category template. It is possible to set the width of thoose templates and homepage content to 90% of the desktop screen´s width?

Thanks from Lena.

Hi,

Some footer template contain predefined content, while others are empty
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
If you want to use only your own content in the footer, you can use one of the blank templates. The footer information can also be changed, in the theme panel
http://prntscr.com/o0c423

The footer also can display a page instead of a template. Here are some footer pages designed by us, which can be imported with the cloud library plugin
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Footers
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/

If you have more questions let me know.
Thanks

Hi,

This text represent the text logo and this one have a link on it for the homepage.
-> https://www.screencast.com/t/w2JOThSYS
You can remove it by changing the footer template or create a footer page .
You can set an empty footer -> https://www.screencast.com/t/RF04v9VRs and set in Appearance> Widgets the element for each footer column -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QaU3X4aDep

Hi,

Some footer templates have predefined content, this content can’t be edited
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-modify-the-elements-of-a-footer-template/

1. The editor picks is a block sorted by featured, so if there are no posts in the featured category, it will be empty – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-posts-2/

2. Seems to work fine – http://prntscr.com/nzxzub Maybe try to clear the cache, and force refresh the page where you are checking in (Ctrl+Shift+R).

3. Works on my end – http://prntscr.com/nzy11t As long as the theme panel saves the setting it should appear in the website.

As a note, if the WPML plugin is active, the theme panel translations will not work
https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wpml/
Some helpful topics here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/wpml-footer-and-block-translations/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/footer-translate/
You can set widgets to display by language, instead of translating them. You can even set footer pages that will switch when the language is changed
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/translation-of-footer-pager-does-not-work/

Thanks

The footer page can be used if you want to display a page in the footer, instead of a footer template. It will affect the whole website. The predefined footer templates are limited in some ways, so in this case a page designed with the composer for example, can be set to display there.

That depends, for example if the pages contain theme provided elements, like blocks and grids, these should work regardless of the composer used or being active. But if the pages contain specific WPBakery elements like tabs, accordions, masonry grids, these won’t be recognized by the composer. The same would happen if a page contains composer specific elements, and it is edited with WPBakery.

Good morning TagDiv,

I’m struggling to understand how to fix my footer 🙁

I’m using style two as seen here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

Problem is, the posts it’s showing are not very popular – how do I modify what it considers popular?

You can see my site here: https://theautomationblog.com/

Thanks in advance!

Shawn

PS – Just purchased a second license for a new project 😉

Hello,

I have updated to the re-uploaded latest version of Newsmag today, and now I am getting an error message on the frontend when logged in as administrator:

wp_booster error:
The category template td_category_template_1 doesn’t exist. Did you disable a tagDiv plugin?

The cause for this error message seem to be my custom plugin that uses tagDiv API, namely this part:

/**
* Update the Style 1 instead of adding a new one, so that we can display the text description for categories while hiding the top menu
*/
td_api_category_template::update('td_category_template_1',
array (
'file' => $this->plugin_path . '/templates/td_category_template_custom_1.php',
'img' => TDC_URL_LEGACY . '/assets/images/panel/category_templates/icon-category-1.png',
'text' => 'Style 1 - Modified',
'group' => '' // '' - main theme, 'mob' - mobile theme, 'woo' - woo theme
)
);

The code actually seems to work fine and my custom template is actually being used, so it’s just the error message.

Am I doing something wrong?

Update:
I also tried to re-write the code by replacing the update() with add() and changing to a custom id, but the same error appeared, with the new id 🙂 And again, the category template works, but just the weird error message appearing on the frontend (only when logged in).

Notes:
There is no error message for my other uses of tagDiv API, which includes:

td_api_top_bar_template::add(...)
td_api_header_style::add(...)
td_api_footer_template::add(...)

So for me the error only appears when I am using td_api_category_template::add() or td_api_category_template::update()

Hi,

From what I can see it is as follows. The first Instagram section is the one coming from the theme panel footer Instagram – http://prntscr.com/nuuf9g If you want to remove this one it can be disabled there.

The second one is coming from the footer page, in this case you can remove it by editing the footer page – http://prntscr.com/nuugiu with the composer and removing it and build the footer page with the elements you want. Or disable the footer page entirely and select a footer template – http://prntscr.com/nuuhbi
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

If you have more questions let us know.

Hello !

Sorry for missunderstanding your issue !

To get your homepage background black you have to edit the homepage using the tagDiv Composer like here: https://www.screencast.com/t/tuoTrkztcQ ; For the header and footer you will have to edit the colors from Theme Colors in Theme Panel. On posts you will have to add a single post template from the cloud library. Here are some tips and trick on how to do it: https://tagdiv.com/customize-articles-with-single-post-templates/

Thank you !

Hi,

I discovered a problem.

If I select “Slider Revolution Blank Template” while creating the page, I have the above problem. Other templates (Default Template, Pagebuilder + Overlay menu, Pagebuilder + latest articles + pagination, Pagebuilder + page title) are fine, without “Error at zones(..)”.

How else can I set up a page without a header and footer? I need to see only what I enter in tagDiv composer.

Thank you!

Hi,

You have more possibilities, you can import some demos and edit theme, but be carefully, if you edit one demo page and you’ll install other demo, or you’ll uninstall the demo, that page will be remove, so will be good to make a new page and set the content in it.
Please check our documentation from here -> https://tagdiv.com/?s=composer

Also you can import pages/sections and templates from tagDiv Cloud Library -> https://tagdiv.com/what-is-the-cloud-library/

The simplest way to achieve a full width is to use a template from tagDiv Cloud Library. There is no one single button push. You have to import a post style and set it as the default post template in the theme panel post settings, then you need to import a category template that is full width and set that one as the default category template. The same for tags, author pages etc:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/ also for pages (stretch row and content ) https://www.screencast.com/t/i8SQ5eS4 .
Please read similar topics:
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/force-full-width-on-categories-post-grid/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/homepage-full-width-content/
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/homepage-full-width-content/

Also from what I can see your header and footer is stretch to full width -> https://www.screencast.com/t/8dv4sZzdVu3o -> https://www.screencast.com/t/1nXlJduH7

Thank you!

Hi,

That demo uses a footer page, this one actually
https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/single/page/Footers/669
From what I can see it is displayed in the footer of the website
http://prntscr.com/nsnzs4
What would you like to do with it exactly?

If you want to edit it or chnage it you can do so from the theme panel for example – http://prntscr.com/nso0g2
If you want to display a predefined footer style instead of the footer page, simply select no page in the theme panel, and choose a footer template – http://prntscr.com/nso4y2
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

If I misunderstand something or you have more questions, let us know.

Thanks

Hello,

I am looking to make changes in the menu of my site. When I scroll, a sticky menu appears. Except I can’t change it. It displays Newspaper and the footer menu. I would like to change newpaper to Toulouse Infos and replace the footer menu with the main menu.
For information, I created my header with “tagdiv composer” in the “cloud templates”.

This is my website: https://www.toulouseinfos.site

Hi,

Unfortunately we do not have for the moment this theme to make custom work, sorry!
For the arrow slider you can try this custom css but, I do not know if this will work correctly
.wpls-logo-showcase button.slick-prev, .wpls-logo-showcase button.slick-prev:active {
background: rgba(48, 96,155, 0.5) url(../images/arrow-left.png) center center no-repeat !important;
background-size: 15px 15px !important;
}
.wpls-logo-showcase button.slick-next, .wpls-logo-showcase button.slick-next:active {
background: rgba(48, 96, 155, 0.5) url(../images/arrow-right.png) center center no-repeat !important;
background-size: 15px 15px !important;
}

Using a footer page will be more easy to achieve that you need.
Footer page from tagDiv cloud template -> https://www.screencast.com/t/1sGZfJhqc -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

Hello !

The about us option comes from the footer option and cannot be deleted. You can edit it if you want or you can create a footer page from the cloud library and create it as you wish.

Take a look at our documentation regarding the cloud template: https://tagdiv.com/cloud-library-page-templates-newspaper-theme/

In case anyone stumbles onto this… There is no way to customize without risking changes being overwritten when TD pushes updates.

Hi,

Most of the theme files were moved into the tagDiv Composer plugin as per the requirements of Envato: https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements, as we wrote an article on that subject. In the future, if you need to make some changes over those core files, you need to check the files from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/Pu345nqP If you need more assistance in this case, please open a new topic at our support forum from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newspaper/

Thank you!

So does this mean that you have to edit the core plugin files directly!? I have made changes to the footer and various part of site through child theme template customizations, how are these suppose to be added now without editing the core plugin files?

Example. I have a child theme and have

childtheme/parts/footer/td_footer_template_14.php

I have added an above footer widget area to this file, and now this is gone. How would I re-add this functionality?

We wrote an article on the subject here: https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/
Moving forward with such requirements, a child theme will only work with functions.php, and style.css, as there are very few files left in the main theme as Envato, requires all functionality to be added through plugins. From now on, if you want to make some changes over the footer theme templates, you need to edit the code from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/RqUdpKc8 Also, if you need more assistance in this case, please open a new topic at our support forum from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/forum/newspaper/

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding!

That does not help at all. What happens when you update the TD Composer plugin? All of the updates that were done to those would be replaced.

This is NOT going to work for continuous development using the Newspaper theme.

There are ways to incorporate locate_template() within a plugin so that you can still maintain the functionality of overriding core templates.

This is not an inconvenience this is a DEAL BREAKER for utilizing this theme going forward with new clients, the flexibility and customization of this theme just went from 90% down to 0%.

Catalin L.Catalin L. May 14, 2019 at 7:53 am
Hi,

The Newspaper theme update brings a change for the customers that use WP Bakery Page Builder with our Theme: when you’ll be updating to the Newspaper 9.7.2 version, you’ll need to activate the tagDiv Composer to keep the Newspaper theme functionality you’ve previously used. Otherwise, you will have basic WordPress functionality, complying with Envato WordPress Requirements – https://help.author.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000472383-WordPress-Theme-Requirements.
Please note that activating the tagDiv Composer doesn’t mean that you are required to use our custom page builder on your website. You can use the WP Bakery page builder as you did before the update. We recommended you to do not use the tagDiv Composer and WP Bakery page builders on the same page though, because you cannot edit with WP Baker blocks and shortcodes created with tagDiv Composer or vice-versa. Regarding your customizations, if you have made and have affected some of the theme core files when you will make the theme update, all of these files will be overwritten. You need to make a full backup and then, all these customizations should have to be implemented again to the core files.

Thank you!

AvatarMatt Pramschufer May 14, 2019 at 9:19 pm
Catalin,
Your response has nothing to do with the issue I proposed. I did not say anything about WP Bakery.

The theme has no hooks at all to implement customizations on a plugin level, and now the functionality of customizing page/post templates has been removed without introducing a new method to make those customizations.

Your answer of just “hack the core files” is absurd. You can not really believe that your customers are going to think this “cowboy coding” way is going to fly in 2019?

Is there someone on your development team or someone higher up that you could connect me to?

I have built out over 20 media publications using the Newspaper theme, all of which have customizations. If I make changes to the TD Composer plugin and you push out an update, it is only a matter of time before all of those customizations are lost.

Catalin L.Catalin L. May 15, 2019 at 8:12 am
Hi,

Sorry for the inconvenience! In your case, if this update will affect your websites, the best solution is to keep the old theme version (9.1) for them. This can be downloaded from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/important-new-update-newspaper-9-7/ Please notice that we try doing our best and where we find a way for this case, we will make an update with this, sorry! At the moment, there is no such thing, sorry!

Thank you!

Heelo

I am using tagdiv themes on 3 sites but just recently I brought Newspaper theme. I am using gossip version and I am trying to edit it like I want. After adding Facebook Fancy Comments plugin (which is working nice on Newsmag) this what happened. see pic.

I want to have comment box just directly under post content but for some reason (which has something in common with templates from cloud library) plugin adding comment box twice. This is also happening when I am using footer template, then comment box is 3 time on single page.

Plugin is set up correctly how it has to be.

Can somebody help me?

Hi,

Why not make a footer page and set the code in it ( you can make it how need and set the selling Sponsor Ads there ), after that set the page as footer.
Please check our documentation for footer -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

Thank you!

It is not required for theme to function properly.
cloud library is compilation of templates (for headers, footers, posts, pages etc.) which you can import and use directly. you will not have have to build everything from scratch. though you will have to do some changes in those templates to fit your needs.

Hi,

Indeed, in Newspaper v9.7 the only files that can be set in child theme are functions.php and style.css , but the most parts of customization can be made now using tagDiv Composer and elements from tagDiv Cloud Library, the changes make on modules/blocks can be achieve using flex blocks , in your case you can set a footer page made by you or form cloud with all the elements/widgets you need ->https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/

Thank you for your understanding!
