Hello,

In WordPress 4.6.1 there seem to be a bunch of errors regarding theme install and delete. Please use the ftp method to install our theme until this gets fixed by WP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
FTP is always the better option as it’s the safest

Thank you!

that notice is from your hosting —
This plugin is not allowed on our system due to performance, security or compatibility concerns

so, you might want to get better web host!

alternately:
You can simply go to the wordpress.org page, download it and install via FTP or upload the zip after you download it — from here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

Hi Bogdan,

It doesn’t works for me. Also I tried to do a new instalation of wordpress and when I upload the theme by FTP I got the same problem, I didn’t do the theme activation, but I got my purchase code, please I need your help.

When I said theme panel, I mean the panel of the theme, no to the wordpress panel, look at my screenshot.

Screenshot

I think it’s like a blockage of the domain, for not having done activation, isn’t it?

I’ve tried both approaches of updating FTP clean and replace, theme upload within wordpress, even tried the ‘Envato wordpress toolkit version’ all with the same response.

As i mentioned before in all cases the sub sites worked ok it was only the main site that had the issue, the main site does use https:// were its multisites don’t could that be an issue?

This is often a permissions issue where the original folder is ‘owned’ by the server (or Apache) and so WP and FTPuser unable to remove. If you upload via FTP it will be “owned” by the FTPuser and can be removed/updated via FTP in future.

Ask your host to “change ownership to FTPuser” on the old folder to fully delete it.

This happens when WP is sometimes installed via hosting panel, vs installed manually.

I’ve tried to update the via FTP but there was error “folder is not empty”. So I changed name of Newsmag theme and then uploaded 3.2 version and it’s working fine! I have no idea what caused problem because I didn’t change any themes code lines.

It works now and it’s all that matters 🙂

Hello Bogdan,

Its actually not caused by the theme but the web hosting turn on a virus file scanner called ClamAV, which detect some file in the themes zip file as virus. The specific part that get rejected is the theme panel under the dashboard. So no matter how many times I uploaded the unzip files through FTP, it will not work.

Well everything is okey now.

Thank you!

Hello,

It’s best to use ftp as the latest version of wordpress created this issue where you are not able to delete any theme at all from the admin panel. Please use ftp and delete the theme and install it again using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ (choose the ftp method)

Thank you!

Hello,

Please disable all your plugins before installing the theme. Access your site via ftp and remove the plugins from the plugins folder of wordpress if you do not have access to the dashboard anymore.
This guide provides more insight about the white screen:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-wordpress-white-screen-of-death/
After you get WP up and running, please make sure you use one of these guides to install the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-wordpress/

I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Hello,
Please make sure wordpress works first before installing the theme. Remove the theme and make sure your wordpress install is Ok and running. Then follow this guide to install your theme properly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/
Also disable all plugins except visual composer as sometimes plugins can also cause conflicts.
Let us know how it goes
Thank you!

Hi

Please make sure that you update thew theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ Make sure that you do a clean update and best way to do it is via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Also after the update is completed clear all caches, purge the cdn files if you’re using then test the site again.

I did as you advised, I uploaded all the theme files and the plugins using FTP without any failed transfer, but I still got blank.

My FTP upload result with zero failed transfer.

Please advise. Thank you

Do I have to delete the current Newspaper theme or just copy and paste it all using FTP? Thanks

False positive. Best to install clean version downloaded from ThemeForest account, then unzip on hard drive, and FTP to new server setup, along with updated plugin(s).

Hi, I recently moved my hosting server from Singapore to US, but now I can not view my front end. Is just blank white, but I can access my admin area without any problems. I try disabling all plugins but still no show.

I try changing with other themes and it shows, so I decided to re-install the Newspaper theme again by uploading it through my Cpanel, but I got this notification.

I try using FTP and after I finished uploading it, the zip file just gone again.

At the moment, one thing I noticed is that the Newspaper theme panel is currently missing. This is what my admin area looks like now

Please advise and thank you.

Hello,
I Just got the new update of NewsPaper 7 theme for wordpress.
So I am here trying to install it by FTP into my website http://www.razacero.com.

Something is happening:
-there is a blank screen at the site http://www.razacero.com once I activate the theme in the dashboard.
-I dont see the customisation pane in my wordpress dashboard

what is happening?, I friend of mine recently dowloaded it and he haven’t any problems with that.

I also noticed that the functions.php file disappears

You want to check this:
Composer
VC

I’m still stuck my friend..I contacted the theme’s staff and given them wp-admin and ftp access..Hopefully they’ll sort it out..
Thanks for your help.

Try deleting it via FTP.

Hello mayuxi,

Please ensure that your theme update has been made via FTP without any errors. Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out any conflicting plugins. Clear all your caches, purge CDN files if you are using the CDN system and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi
We have actually found that it’s a wordpress issue. It seems that version 4.6 created this issue on all themes: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/deletion-failed-the-requested-theme-does-not-exist-2/
Until they fix it, we suggest updating using the ftp method
Thank you!

Things don’t “suddenly” happen unless you install something to break it.

However, you should update the theme and VC plugin via FTP to ensure you delete the broken version, and have clean copies on your site. FTP always safeest way to update stuff.

Note if you installed a new plugin or updated something else to break your site, that could happen again. (e.g., Yoast 3.6 has some issues, etc.).
