Hi,
@rnbjunk In order to use the theme you need to regenerate the thumbs for the images and when you have so may images it supposed to take some time to generate all thumbs, unfortunately I can’t see any other solution for this, we recommend though to move your site locally then use the plugins regenerate the thumbs then upload the thumbs folder via FTP.
@Pauline Have you checked if you also have writing permission? “The WordPress Database Backup Plugin requires the /wp-content/ folder be made writable. In some cases, this may require assigning 755 permissions or higher (e.g. 777 on some hosts).”
You can find more info about this here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Before this please make sure that you don’t use a plugin that causes this and to do so deactivate all plugins then empty cache if you use any and try again.
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi,
Is it alright if I update only the modified files via FTP?
Thank you
Hi,
Have you tried to make a backup of your current theme installation and re-upload the theme files via FTP like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
The error indicates that this file is missing so access your FTP account and make sure that you have this file there: http://screencast.com/t/dKlgFlHdmjH
Also replied here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/search-goes-to-blank-page/#post-28589
Hope this helps!
Thanks
Hi,
Thanks @Steven! I have tested the latest theme version and haven’t had any issues of this type.
@Jorge/@SALZBURG12 Please make sure you empty all cache/purge files then deactivate all plugins leaving just Visual Composer active then check again and also clear your browser cache (use Ctrl+Shift+R to re-download the page ignoring cache content) if this dose not helps please update the theme copying the theme’s files manually via FTP using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ because the envato toolkit seems to case some issue when used for update and could not update the it right.
@Mark Clifford The css flash usually happens when using the speed booster plugin. Just checked your site and seems that it doesn’t happen anymore have you managed to solve it? Please let me know!
The 4.5d version of the theme from theme panel was added by mistake it should state 4.6 so it’s not an issue.
@Jalo I have tested this again using winmerge and that file hasn’t been changed in the latest theme versions, maybe you had an older theme version as the last time this file was changed is 4.1
@skykid Sorry for the inconvenience. More feature will be added, unfortunately I can’t give you any exact details about this but I can let you know that will happen in next updates.
Thanks
Hi,
@mnguyen87 Glad you have managed to get it done. Please note that when you update your theme using the envato toolkit you will not lose your settings and customizations only if you have made modifications to theme files, in that case you need to remake your changes as the files will get overwritten and the changes will be lost.
On the other hand we do not recommend the update through the envato plugin as some issues where reported recently and better would be to do it manually via FTP.
Regarding the “4.5d version” of the latest theme please note that it’s not an issue we have added that by mistake.
@Branstone We do not recommend the plugin as I stated above because seems that can cause other issues. Please make sure you update like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/ and after you update make sure you empty all cache and purge files.
Thanks

nevermind I updated via ftp and everything is ok, but my version says 4.5d like the other thread. I will continue to check the other thread for a fix.
how do i delete this post? lol.
I used the patch you provided for 4.0.2 to 4.5 and it gave me errors so I reinstalled the full theme. It looks like it updated but im unable to access /wp-admin. When trying to go there, I receive:
Warning: require_once(wp_booster/td_review.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/klsbo/public_html/wp-admin/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php on line 71
Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required 'wp_booster/td_review.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/klsbo/public_html/wp-admin/includes/td_wordpres_booster.php on line 71
I provided you with all the information via email (FTP and wp-admin) and got the response to rename the wp-content/plugins, try again and rename it back and no luck. Also to purge Cloudflare, but my site is not on Clouflare.
Going on the 4th day today with no admin and it’s really critical. Please help.
Thanks.
I have done all of this. I sent you my FTP and wp-admin login like asked in the support email and only received an email to say rename a folder and rename it back, which did not work. My wp-admin has fatal error for the 4 days and this is very critical. Please review my email.
Hello,
Just updated via FTP but noticed that the version number in the Panel says 4.5d… what’s up with that? Screenshot: http://take.ms/yYTO6
Just upload via FTP whitout translation folder. It will keep your settings.

Hi,
Please use this guide to reupload your theme’s files via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Also make sure you make a back-up of your current theme installation so you can revert back to it in case something goes wrong.
Thanks
Hi,
Using the tool kit to update the them will delete the theme’s files and copy the updated version of the theme, in this case your customization will be lost.
You can update the theme manually and upload the files via FTP and overwrite the old theme’s files, unfortunately for your changes made to themes files need to be done again as the files will be overwritten.
So the best way would be to make a backup of your current theme installation then use this this guide to update the theme then make the changes again: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Hope this helps!
Thanks
How to move a website from url: “domain.com/test” into the main url: “domain.com” to preserve all links, theme styles and modifications and plugins? Must I install WP in this directory first or easily to copy all directory using FTP?
Make sure you upload only the main theme files; don’t install the “all files” zip from ThemeForest… that has docs, psd files, plugins, etc.
You want to install the smaller of the two files on Themeforest, if you’re installing via theme panel with .zip.
BEST WAY TO INSTALL WP THEMES:
Ideal way is still to
1) unzip theme folder “Newsmag” on your HD
2) upload via FTP/SFTP to your /wp-content/themes/ folder
3) upload the plugins unzipped to /wp-content/plugins/
4) switch to default theme from your old theme
5) turn off *all* running plugins
6) clear your cache(s), turn off caching (!),
7) activate the Visual Composer plugin
8) activate the new Newsmag theme
9) launch the theme panel
10) reactivate only the plugins you 100% need to make sure they work (some plugins WILL NOT WORK properly with WP 4.01 until you update the plugins!).
Clear the cache in your WEB BROWSER FULLY and restart web browser; this clears any CSS/Java used by your previous theme admin, and theme, so that you see the new CSS/JS properly (seriously, this is cause for huge number of “my new theme doesn’t load right” or “admin panel doesn’t have any boxes!” errors).
If you’re running WordPress older than 4.0 be aware there is a very serious cross-site scripting vulnerability (e.g., WP 3.9.2). You should be running WP 4.0+ to use this theme properly.
This is standard practice for switching to a brand new theme and good habit to get into doing it this way to ensure you clear cobwebs on old, and cleanly move to new.
Hope that helps! 🙂

Thanks Lucian.
Was able to activate the predefined style successfully so thanks for that.
As for Visual Composer it is still a major issue.
See screenshot
http://bit.ly/11oMmv8
I have reved Visual Composer complete, even checked using FTP. Then installed Visual Composer from the plugin folder inside the Newspaper theme I purchased from you.
Still the code shows on the homepage.
Why isn’t the visual composer shortcodes rendering despite running Visual Composer?
I am not happy to share my website details publicly so if you can send me a private message then I am happy to create an admin for you to check.
Hi,
Please make sure you make a backup of your current theme installation then re-upload your theme files via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
You could also try to upload just the loop-single.php and overwrite the old file, upload it in the root of the theme.
Thanks
Hi,
First please make sure you are uploading the right .zip file because the .zip file you get is this: http://screencast.com/t/Q0SZ8ZUcTd which contains all theme files like ../plugins/a patch which you use to update from the previous version/ documentation/ licensing/ child theme... so this is not the right theme file you need to upload, this one is: http://screencast.com/t/OiXSsFHEj0
So please make sure you unzip the Newspaper-ft.zip file and upload the Newspaper.zip file and upload the theme again.
Secondly please try to add the theme files manually via FTP, and follow this guide on how to do it: https://forum.tagdiv.com/installation/
Please let me know if this helps!
Thanks
Hi,
Yes. Please give us FTP and wp access so we can check this. Send you login details at contact@tagdiv.com and also include a link to this topic or specify your issue details.
Thanks
Hi,
I have also noticed that lack of styling and suspected that it due to a plugin. Please make sure you deactivate all plugins leaving just Visual Composer active then empty cache and purge files then let me know and leave it that way so I can take a look.
Those console errors are most likely generated by a plugin as we haven’t had any issues of this type with the theme. You should also consider re-uploading the latest theme files via FTP if nothing helps: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Please let me know!
Thanks
Hi,
Please make sure you use this guide any updated the theme manually via FTP: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme/
Please make sure you updated the theme right then check if you still have this same issues but without any plugins active, leave active just the Visual Composer plugin.
Please let me know if you still have issues!
Thanks
The plugin works; you might need to disable other plugins; turn off your caching, make sure your image folder is writable; make sure images not being loaded off CDN where I don’t know if the plugin works for that.
It does work, as I’ve used it dozens of times on dozen websites with different themes. The above issues would be only reason for the problem.
Also see the docs for the plugin. Perhaps re-upload the plugin manually via FTP if you did install via the wordpress panel.

Sorry for the delay! Replied here!
