Hello !

In most cases the issue is caused by one of the cases below:

Could be caused by insufficient resources
https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
In this case the hosting provider should be able to increase them.

Or it could be a security setting, module or firewall, as in this case where the theme panel was not saving any settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-save-theme-options-2/

If you already checked or tried these, we could take a look. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Please include a link to this topic in the email.

Thank you !

yannc04,

Not sure if this helps your situation, but I was encountering a similar problem and what I did was delete the theme folder via ftp and then place the new version of the theme in the themes folder and that worked for me.

Hope this helps!

Hi

I have recently updated my theme following advice via recent emails from yourselves. It was successful. However, there seems to be a problem with Slider Revolution.

When viewing the website post-update, I’m faced with following errors:

‘Revolution Slider Error: You have some jquery.js library include that comes after the revolution files js include.
This includes make eliminates the revolution slider libraries, and make it not work.

To fix it you can:
1. In the Slider Settings -> Troubleshooting set option: Put JS Includes To Body option to true.
2. Find the double jquery.js include and remove it.’

To fix the above I ave attempted to replace files using FTP following this guide: https://www.themepunch.com/faq/update-plugin-packaged-theme/. However, error message is still appearing.

Another problem is: no images are appearing

See site: https://www.lifewithoutmeat.com/

How do I fix this?

Thanks,
Georgia

Hello,

This issue is usually caused by low memory allocation or an older version of PHP. Please make sure you use PHP 7.0-7.2 and use this guide to increase your memory allocation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/

If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,

Ensure that you have correctly installed the theme via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results. Check the PHP version to be 7.0 and check the results. We do not have any bad reports in this case until now, sorry! Check your theme installing and configuration and let us know how it goes!

Thank you!

Hi,

From what I can find online for some users deleting the default wordpress themes worked
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/the-site-is-experiencing-technical-difficulties/

Also the theme requirements should be checked as well, there is a guide here
https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-requirements/

If the problem remains, we could take a closer look at it. Send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, also cPanel or FTP if possible. Include a link to this topic in the email. Let us know.

Thanks

Hi,

Please make sure that you have correctly installed the theme via FTP way, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ and then, install the plugins from here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/M4eG9Dk0

Hi,

Please, provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Also, provide a screenshot with the differences between the two versions of the theme. We recommend to update the theme via FTP way, remove the old theme version and install the new one which comes bundled with the theme core files. Until now, we do not have any bad reports in this case after theme update and also, we cannot recreate this behavior.

Thank you!

Hi,

This error appears because the theme was not been correctly installed/updated. You need to remove the theme and add it again according to our documentation. First of all, you need to make a full backup to your database and then, you have to remove
your old theme and then add the new theme folder which contains the latest version of the theme. Also, you have not to overwrite because then you will encounter some problems. Check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you!

Hi,

If you do not made any changes in theme files, then all your settings will not be lost, all the settings made in theme panel or post/pages/templates are save in database, for update please check our documentation for: How to Update the Newspaper Theme for WordPress -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/

If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel or FTP if possible. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Hi,

Please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it and also, so I will be able to provide a more accurate response. Ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. Remove all of the untested plugins if you are using something like this, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

Thank you!

Hi,

It is always best to try and update the theme, plugins and WordPress as soon as possible, when updates are available.

You can update to the latest version normally, the best way would be by FTP
https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
The changelog for each version can be seen at the bottom of this page
https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609

The 9.7 update consists of some changes to the theme files location, an article about the modifications here – https://tagdiv.com/updating-the-core-of-tagdiv-themes/

If the website is stable and working, maybe consider for example to create a testing install on a sub-domain if possible, or locally, with a copy of the current website. There are plugins that can duplicate the website, or clone it (like the duplicator plugin). Then update there first, to see the results.
This would be better than trying it on the live website, I believe it is worth considering

Thanks

Indeed, the empty page template has been removed, now you can remove the header per page, using the header manager. An option will be added for the footer. If you require it, you can download it from here – http://cdn.tagdiv.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/page-empty.zip

Place it in the main theme folder, upload it by FTP for example
http://prntscr.com/mo17zp

Then select it for the pages you want. The footer will be removed and the header can be disabled
http://prntscr.com/mo17bw

Editing the revolution slider blank template with the composer will cause problems. That would be useful if you wish to display only a slider provided by the plugin, by entering it’s shortcode in the page content, in the backend – http://prntscr.com/mo18vk

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,

I need your website so I can make some investigation in this case. Also, make sure if you are using the latest version of the theme installed via FTP way, check the system status parameters to be increased accordingly to our guide from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ clear all the caches and check the results. If you are using some untested plugins which might break the theme functionality, please remove all of these, clear all the caches, purge CDN file and check the results. I have tested to my website and seems that everything works as expected.

Thank you!

Hello !

You can update directly to 9.7.2 BUT it is mandatory before the update to delete all the old files of the theme. The new update has a upgraded core so overwriting the files will cause a lot of problems. We recommend uploading via ftp. Take a look at our documentation regarding the update: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ ; https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-plugins-and-update-plugins/

Thank you !
