Hi, for some time now I have been experiencing a display problem, of my home page (https://smanettoni.net/), on different browsers and operating systems.
This is a serious problem, because users end up seeing an incorrect homepage, compared to what it should be.
I don’t understand if this is a problem with the theme and how can I fix it?

This is the correct homepage:

While this is how it is displayed incorrectly:

Why is this problem happening? And how can it be solved?
Thank you very much.

Hello,

Please don’t use the AMP plugin because it is deprecated. You need to use the composer, select the viewport for the phone and try there to fix the header.

Using our theme you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
If you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer, then when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
So, the mobile responsive is what you see then that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin not.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activate and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activate.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
Better deactivate the mobile theme plugin and see the results, and assign the mobile page for page, like this => https://www.screencast.com/t/lektAhyjd
Also, clear your cache.

Thank you!

Yeah – We’re only using TD Composer for our homepage. All our post editing is using the classic editor and we don’t really update the post template all that often.

Hi 2020crystal, the most simple and faster way will be to install a demo – https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-installing-demos/ and after that just edit it. The homepage can be edited suing the theme builder – https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/

Hello,

If want to have the same content as on desktop, the just disable the tagDiv Mobile theme plugin and you’ll have more content on your homepage and responsive eversion will be used on your website.

Now in case that you want to use the mobile theme plugin, then you need to use the options that this plugins offers and you can add more conte using the bottom mobile editor to add content – https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-get-mobile-ready-with-newsmag-theme/

I definitely appreciate your help, simchris! When I try to build out the widget, though, I cannot get it to look like the homepage widget. For example- when I try to add categories in the widget, I do not get to pick/choose the category and it’s just random (which will not work for me because I use “series posts”). It seems like I have to add things to widgets using the basic editor…but I’m also not super versed in using sidebars…I honestly thought I was just going to get what they showed in the demo. That would have been nice.

Hello,
One other question- why does my homepage not match the Newsmag Homepage. I chose the default homepage and expected it to look like this: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newsmag/#
Instead, it looks like this: https://staging4.divorcemoneykids.com/
I’ve tried changing the Archive templates, but that doesn’t change the homepage. I’m not sure what else to adjust.

Hello,
I’ve tried to disable the author, date, and comments, but they are still showing up on my homepage- or when viewing posts by categories. I have tried disabling it from >Post Settings >Post & Custom Post Types. Is there somewhere else I should go? I also cleared my cache just to be sure that wasn’t the issue.

Also- How do I adjust the content in the footer?
I want to change “even more news” to “More Articles”
I also want to change “Popular Category” (which is grammatically incorrect btw) to Series’ to Explore. I then want to change the categories associated with the footer.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I see the you have disabled the mobile theme plugin for the homepage, and they are the same posts, so you can let it like this https://i.imgur.com/C54z6b5.png

How can I set full image everywhere like on homepage, related articles, category section everywhere and mobile and desktop both version?

Hello @Adrie!

Please make sure the settings are set to show the published date and not the modified date. For example:
homepage, flex block 1 settings: https://app.screencast.com/Jor62PnL7C5Lc
– single template, using the single post date: https://app.screencast.com/dRwTFaIH0sLBn

Thank you!

Hey – So we’ve been back and forth with our host on this – and we’ve set up a pretty large homepage full of content. And the load on our server has spiked since we launched with this theme causing our site to be slow & crash at times. Is there anything we can be doing to ease the load of the server in terms of theme config?

Hello, after updating to the latest version (12.6.6) we have a strange problem – in the homepage the images of our posts do not correspond with the ones assigned – once you open the article is ok, but when shown in homepage each post is shown with the image of the previous one (appears that each image is moved to the next post). It happens only when viewed in mobile for now.

https://www.localcontent.com/

On the Homepage link above, there is a tag “Local Content + Domestic Content” When you select the tag you are taken to a page where all of the content tagged with “Local Content + Domestic Content” should appear see below

https://www.localcontent.com/category/local-content-domestic-content/

Need to have the tagged items appear on the correct pages. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Hello Andrei!

Yes, by using a custom module template: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/
Create a new custom module template from Cloud Templates -> Modules.
On the homepage, you should add this element and select your custom module created from this dropdown: https://app.screencast.com/HkE4twhMYIwel
Documentation here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/

Thank you!

Hello, we have a Editorial section on the website which shows the latest 3 editorials on the homepage via a block / flexblock. Is there a way to modify a block’s code to show the author’s image instead of the featured image? And, if not, how can we go about resolving this?

Thank you,
Andrei.

Hi Bettina,

First of all, thanks for your answer, but probably I didn’t explain myself well.
My problem is not setting a page as WP homepage, but it’s another.

In practice I can NOT edit the homepage with tagDiV Composer! If the same page is not set as homepage the editpor works, if I set it as homepage it does NOT work anymore.

For more details try reading my previous message. Thanks.

I hope I was clear.

Hello Bhanu Srivastav!

Edit the homepage with the tagdiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://app.screencast.com/JBjQfi2ZDQYb0
You can drag & drop the elements there in the columns as you like: https://app.screencast.com/EFQi0bSEe2XIo and apply those settings from the screenshots provided. There you should write “auto”. Or you can set for each column the percentage you would like, for example: 25%, 50%, 25%. Please note that you should apply the change to the mobile menu sticky: https://app.screencast.com/ZifloqbIxB9gz or you can copy-paste the entire row. Right-click on the row already modified -> copy, go to the mobile menu sticky, click on the row word, right-click paste after. Delete the first row.

Thank you!

Hello.
I have set up a mobile page for my Homepage, but the mobile version is shown on the desktop and the default homepage is not.

I’m using the tagDiv Newspaper theme and LiteSpeed Cache plugin.
