From what I understand you would like to make the Video News demo similar to the Black Version demo. You could use css along with theme options to style it to look like the black demo. This would require you to identify the elements on the page and set the background you want, like in this example for the homepage

You can use the browser inspector to identify these elements and include them in the code

But also you could just install the black demo which is already using a black accent and overall color, and just recreate the page structure form the other demo.

Sorry but the mobile theme does not have such settings. The homepage for the mobile theme is predefined and cannot be changed except by altering the theme code.

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are not using the Big Grid at your top homepage, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/FRGDBmrli31 If you want to achieve the above results as you described me, you should use the Big Grid 1 and sort them by your desired from Block Settings. The lazy load can be disabled in the theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/xPgueGZ0Yss
But it would be best to try and identify the cause of these image problems, this feature seems to be just the one that probably fails first in case of functionality interference. These kind of issues are almost always caused by problematic plugins.

If some posts do not have a thumbnail displayed on blocks, please set a featured image for them

The background image comes from the category that the post is part of. Please check in Theme panel->Categories in the per category settings, in the category this post is included

A big grid will not show subtitles or excerpts. Sorry but the grids do not have this implementation.
The standard blocks do not show a subtitle either. The subtitle is destined for posts only, not for blocks on pages.
If you want to add a subtitle on blocks, you can use this example:
