I dont understand what sizes the images have to be. Do I have to make a version in every resolution in the list you gave in the first answer or are there only 4 sizes required one for each type the div examples are asking for?

I have this question too, but what are the ad sizes? I looked at that article and I have no idea what size I should be creating images to be used.

okay seems as if the problem is the Single-Image-Element by Visual Composer…
I know it’s use is not recommended, but I have to insert pictures in different sizes on my page, for example using a picture at 1920x1080p but only showing a part of 900x300p from the middle…
is there any way to make this option work for me?

Today, we changed from another theme to newspaper.
Now all images used on pages or posts are way too big. We use WPBakery Page builder (formerly Visual Composer), but changes in Picture settings are not applying.
Also, there are maximum heights in html source?! How can I change image sizes in my posts?!

Hi,

I have tried the Visual composer gallery, there is no image blurring applied on the images I selected from what I can see. I chose images of different sizes, small ones to big ones, with the same settings as you mention
https://www.screencast.com/t/W9zTyiZna2
The results are here
https://www.screencast.com/t/juVWDRno
https://www.screencast.com/t/Dl8RXoqQFid
https://www.screencast.com/t/QeqwhZqR
The image processing is done entirely through Visual composer, there are no settings to choose in the image gallery in terms of quality.
If a smaller image is used in it, it will not stretch it to become blurry, it will be displayed as it is. If there are bigger images there should be no problem.
If you could provide a link to this gallery on your website, we will inspect it.

Thanks

Hi,

The blocks and grids cannot be changed, either to reduce or enlarge their size. There is no options for this and it should not be attempted. These elements are predefined in the theme.
You must choose the block or grid type that you wish, and make sure you use bigger images as featured images, so proper thumbnails will be created by the theme. Here you can see more information about the module thumbnail sizes, and more general information
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
Blocks usually require smaller thumbnails, but grids need larger images.

In my site images are creating multiple sizes, How to avoid creating multiple sizes for one image.
If it’s only created for one image in a post is fine but for all images in a post it’s creating different sizes.

Please help me resolve the problem.

Hi,

It could have something to do with the background image used. It seems to be detected incorrectly, such image sizes surely are not available from what I know
https://www.screencast.com/t/e9UDmXzm1
The website seems to be loaded in the background, but the background is still covering it. Try with a different background image and see if this has any effect, or remove it and test.

Thanks

Hello,

This is because the code does not use the image as you want to implement it. The images sizes are created like mentioned in the theme api: https://forum.tagdiv.com/td_api_thumbupdate/

If you do not have the coding skills necessary to modify the thumbs you will have to hire a freelancer to help out as we cannot offer any custom work at the moment.

Thank you!

Hi!

I’m trying to modify the Desktop, Tablet and Mobile sizes for the images on the iOS slider.

I tried modifying the file Newspaper-child/includes/td_module_slide.php Line 35

From
$buffy .= $this->get_image('td_1068x580);
To
$buffy .= $this->get_image('td_1250x580');

However it throws this error on the frontend:
wp booster error:
td_api_base::mark_used_on_page : a component with the ID: td_1250x580 is not set.
/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_api.php

Tried to find the function to register it on td_api.php but could not find it.

Thanks!

Hello,

Having issues with the Ad sizes. Use an Ad Service called Mantis. Similar to Adsense. All banner ads that are 728px do not display properly (have tested Header and Article Bottom). They are small. The sidebar ad is working properly. If I add the demo image back into the ad it works.

Please look at this post.

https://pointyleaf.com/2017/10/young-autistic-patient-can-finally-speak-after-2-days-of-cbd-oil/

The header ad is:

<div class=”td-all-devices”>
<div data-mantis-zone=”header”></div>
</div>

My Ad Displays the proper size, with the image. But if you look at the Article Bottom Ad, it is small. If I add the demo image it is the proper size.

Here is the Article Bottom Ad:

<div class=”td-all-devices”>
<div data-mantis-zone=”content-bottom”></div>
</div>

Can you please help with this?

Hi,

On the mega menu for our website (insidepropertyinvesting.com) the thumbnails are displaying in different sizes. I’ve read elsewhere on the documentation that these image sizes can’t be changed, so can you explain why two different sizes are showing? The source images are the same size, and this looks quite unprofessional. Thanks.

Hello rahimvaziri,

Yes, this is the process for featured images uploaded. The theme will resize all the images according to your thumbs sizes needed for your blocks used. If you will use an image in content, without thumbs the theme will take it and load it with the original size.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello rahimvaziri,

Sorry, but notice that our theme has not been tested with this such a plugin and we cannot say for sure if it will work or not with the theme! We do not have any max height and width. To achieve good theme results, you should use full HD images because the theme will automatically resize the images according to the block used by you. Here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ztGAgohOF you can see the list of thumbs sizes which the theme uses.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,

Retina images will be twice the size of the normal thumbnails. If the normal thumbnail is for example 696×435 the retina thumbnail will be twice that size. You can use bigger images than double if you want for the featured image, the thumbnail sizes are predefined. They will always be created the same size, both normal or retina.

Thanks

Hi,

The available header styles require different logo sizes
https://forum.tagdiv.com/logo-favicon/
The logo images will be displayed as they are naturally, the theme does not process the image quality in any way. This is how the logo looks for me, does not seem blurry
https://www.screencast.com/t/pw54bvddDe9q
Place the exact same image in a post content for example, and compare with header logo. Or test with more header styles and logo sizes.
I believe WordPress does not support SVG by default, there are workarounds that you could try if you wish

Hi,

Each post needs to have a featured image set, in order for the thumbnails to be created
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
The theme will crop the images and create thumbnails
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
If an image is not set, the theme will display a default no-thumb placeholder on the modules. As for the size of the featured image, there is no recommendation. The demo you install contains mostly images of 1068 × 713 px, as mentioned. However, for superior thumbnail quality you could use bigger image sizes. For example, in the live demo this featured image size is used for a post
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/01-girl.jpg
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/
The mega menu uses a thumbnail as well, the thumbnail size cannot be changed
https://www.screencast.com/t/7OLNwwdDyR8U
There are multiple post templates that you can choose from
https://forum.tagdiv.com/post-templates-2/
See them live in the demo (Features menu).

Thanks

Hi,

It all depends on the initial quality of the image used. The theme will only create specific thumbnail sizes cropping the images center-top. Here you can see the Big grid slide in the demo
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
The image used in the bigger module is this thumbnail
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/01-girl-741×486.jpg
Created from this original image
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/01-girl.jpg

Thanks

OK, I figured out that the original demo uses a text logo not an image logo and to do that I must use Header Style 10. I’ve made those changes but the text only flashes up on refresh then goes behind the image. Also the text is black (should be white) and it is not picking up the font details from the demo (wrong fonts, wrong sizes). So I understand more but I’m no nearer!

Hello mskssk1,

Please notice that here is talking about two different ways. Notice that your images from your posts and separated from those in thumbnails which are used in modules/blocks. If you will turn off the unnecessary sizes, the images with that dimensions will not be created.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,
Well, I have team of authors for the newspaper I have made who can’t understand the concept of responsive images and why an image may be cutted down when it tries to fit in a smaller container.
So, I decided to choose a thumbnail size and have all thumbnails generated to this aspect ratio.
The thumbnail size I will use is 324 x 235.

Now, I have to go to all blocks I use and change the size of their thumbnails.

In particular:
Block 18 – the thumbnail is size of 696 x 385 and I want to make it 696 x 504
Block 3 – the thumbnails are size of 324 x 160 and I want to make it 324 x 235
Block 15 – the thumbnails are size of 218 x 150 and I want to make it 218 x 158
Module 19 – the thumbnails are size of 534 x 350 and I want to make it 534 x 387 (without to be zoomed in)

So, my first question is if this possible to via the theme panel.
If not, can you, please, provide me with some instructions on how to change the thumbnail size of 1-2 blocks so I can make the others by myself?
Please, keep in mind that, if I need to make changes for the responsive sizes, I need to know it so, please, include the necessary instructions for this scenario too.

I know that I have to “play” with that piece of code but I am not sure how:
Code of image

I hope I have your feedback soon.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

I’m having some problems setting up the mobile site. As you can see from the attachment this site’s https://www.skincare-anti-aging.com/ home page have these issues, that I came across. (Iuse newspaper_recipes template)

1) Home page image grid doesn’t show up.
2) Header looks small, appearing in the center, though I have tested with bigger image sizes.
3) The nav menu doesn’t work. Nothing happens when I click it. This sigh # shows at the end of the domain name (.com#)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4axcom69bduacqw/site1.jpg?dl=0

I want the menu to slide across similar to the example site http://general-health-tips.com
The image header shows properly in this site. Please note though it’s ‘Sahifa Theme’, I just wanted to show it as an example.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5uetq5rpofar5h2/example-site.jpg?dl=0

So, could you guide me how to set up my site properly so that it looks best with mobile devices.

Thanks
Neevin

Hi,

The theme uses a center-top cropping system, this is considered to be the most suited for all cases in general
https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
Of course for some images this may not be the best method
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/
The thumbnails will be created automatically from the featured images you use for posts, the sizes are predefined for all modules, in the theme files.
You can use the Yoast SEO plugin for sharing customization, the theme does not have any options in this regard
https://forum.tagdiv.com/facebook-share/
https://yoast.com/social-media-optimization-with-yoast-seo/
https://kb.yoast.com/kb/why-doesnt-facebook-display-an-image/

Thanks
