Hi,

The theme automatically creates the thumbnail sizes required for the different modules and blocks from the featured images. Each module has a defined image size that will be displayed if it is enabled in theme panel.
If you have existing content you must use the regenerate thumbnail tool in order to recreate the thumbnails required for these modules. Please try the regenerating tool provided above and the requirements mentioned in that guide. And remove any modifications you say were made. Also clear any caching installed after the regeneration process is complete.
If you tried this method and with no results, please provide a link to your website so we can inspect it.
You can see all the blocks and big grids used in the theme in the demo

Thanks

Hello,

I just tested this on my end. I downloaded a new image of 800×600 and checked the thumb sizes. There was not one that was bigger than the image itself: https://www.screencast.com/t/czCGsrBl
And this is a fresh install with no image optimization added at all. Maybe you have something that affects the images on your end that causes the issue. Please try to disable all plugins and optimization tools used, clear any custom code and clear cache and cdn (do a back-up beforehand though) then try to images again without any external influence.
Let us know how it goes.

Thank you!

Hello,

The header sizes are different for each case in particular. DO you use a full header? a boxed version? where do you want to add the image to? as a header background? There are multiple questions that need answers before I can provide a number. Please provide a link to your site so I can inspect it and provide more details to where you want the image to show up.

Thank you!

What are the image sizes for the thumbnail default that you use if we don’t post one to a post? You replace them with a light gray image I need something branded to take its place. I’m certain this has been answered before but my goodness I cannot for the life of me find it.

Hi,

Please note that the thumbnails displayed on blocks depend on the aspect ratio of the images used, as explained here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ and it is best to experiment with different sizes to see which offers the best results. And this is how the theme cropping system for the featured image is made – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/
If this is not what you are asking it would be helpful if you could provide a link to your website and more details, so we can inspect the issue.

Thanks

Hi there,

after I installed the Newspaper theme I uploaded the new website logo in all sizes and everywhere, as recommended.

I use the Yoast SEO plugin and all fields for logo are filled with the urls with the correct logo image.

However when I paste a link into skype, the preview shows the old logo. Can you help with this, am I missing something?

Thank you for your time in advance!

Best,
A

Hello,

The theme has no integrated function to know if a post has a featured image set or not. The simplest method people use for posts that do not have a featured image is to use the placeholder image the theme provides and edit it to your own custom image so all of the posts that do not have a featured image will have thie one image you specify for them. One general image for posts. The placeholders can be found here:
https://www.screencast.com/t/8eGluunX2Yf
You have to keep the file nem intact and the image sizes the same.

Thank you!

Hi,

You can use the slider element from Visual composer for your page – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/ios-slider/ Here you can see what image sizes this element is using – https://www.screencast.com/t/iRJ2o7q3Fs or you could use a Big grid slide – https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/big-grid-slide/
Please note that it would not be an easy task to modify the slider to a custom size, and it would require taking into account multiple changes to the elements and classes that are used.
Another option would be to use the Revolution slider provided with the theme – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/ Here is a link to the official documentation – https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/

Thanks

simple method; upload graphic(s) that are GIFs via FTP to a folder on your website.

Then put the explicit URL for the graphic in your post/page.

WordPress doesn’t support the multiple image sizes in the IMG tag, with animated GIFs, I think might be the issue.

Hi.
My featured images have 1200×630 pixels size on my website https://myformat.club/. But on my home page there are image thumbs compressed into 324×160 pixels size http://imgur.com/a/X2xUB.
How to stop this compressing to show original thumbs?

What you can do, and what is commonly done in WordPress news portals, is upload images via FTP into an /images/ folder, and then put the explicit URL for the image in the HTML of the article, and don’t use the media manager except for the featured image.

Note that WP makes images from anything added to the media manager, per the default sizes shown on the settings > media page for *all* themes, defaulting to those most commonly used by the default blog themes included with WP.

So, *all* themes follow this behavior by adding additional add image classes to fit theme layouts, and for this theme they can be disabled based on the theme panel.

The only solution that works across all themes, is to simply use the FTP method for common images, and then use the media manager only for the ‘featured’ image for a story.

Anyway, that’s how we’ve done it the past 12 years on our news portals.

Hi, I just bought the theme. I’m happy with it, but I tought it was a little bit more flexible.

Right now I have some issues with the theme that I don’t know how to solve:

1. On posts header, the one I like the most is the number seven. The problem is the height is too high, the title is not centered and I would prefer it to be in the middle and not in the inferior part of the image.

2. The content of the posts is too wide witouth sidebar. I’m not going to use sidebar, so I would like the content to be more narrow, with a higher margin.

3. I would like to add a suscription form at the end of all the posts. The position should be just at the end, before the share buttons. Is there any way to do it automatically witout adding it manually in each post? Something like a widget a the end of the posts. I’m missing after posts widgets on this theme.

4. I would like to add something like a full width banner on the top of each post with a suscription form before the post image/title. Is there any way to do that?

5. I don’t see visual composer on posts, only on pages.

6. Images are not adapted to blocks or thumbnails and there is an ugly gray background. Do I always have to use specific featured image sizes depending on where they are going to be shown?

You can check it here on the top of the page: https://desdelaraiz.com/webnova/

7. Using the ajax filter, when I use offset then the filters don’t work well. With many categorys they are not showing any article. I would like to use offset to avoid repeating posts on the same page, but some posts, even they were not shown before, they are not showing when you switch to a specific category. I don’t understand why.

That’s all for today. Maybe I’m asking to much to this theme, just let me know.

Thank you so much.

Hello,

1) We always recommend using a header style that uses the full logo if you want bigger sizes for your logo. Here are the required logo sizes for all the different header styles: https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-styles/
Please use headwer style 9, 10 or 11 as they will show the exact size you upload your logo in. Right now your logo cannot be stretched to 434 pixels as it is only 300 x 86 and forcins it to stretch via css will cause lots of quality loss https://www.screencast.com/t/QiIJLqhlTHY

2)If you add a featured image and add it in the content as well, then both will show up on regular post styles. Our theme has 14 post style to choose from. Please change the post style for the posts that have this duplicate image to post style 5 that will not show the featured image: example:

Hi – I am testing Matched Content with NP theme right now. Even though NP does not have the correct size settings in place, I can see (for my sites), that Matched Content has a good RPM and overall has added to my income.

NP – I’d like to see the ad sizes/auto changed. The Ad options in the Theme Panel are great (for all ads) – however, the Auto setting is all wrong. No matter how big an area I allow it with a Google responsive ad, (banner, full page width at bottom, etc), NP chooses a 468×60 ad. Which is way too small and won’t generate revenue. It looks terrible in the header (so I had to manually code a 728 ad) and it disappears as matched content when added to Article Bottom Ad (where MC should go).

In the pull down settings, there are no good options for sizes that will go with matched content (or most Google ads actually). With or without a Sidebar in place. With a sidebar, the closest is 640×300 but that still is too big for the width of the column and cuts off a third image. 500 width gets 2 images across and 750 gets 3 images across.

So for matched content, we need width choices of the same to make them work. Or, NP should allow the Google responsive ad without overriding the google choice – which are bigger ads.

Hi TagDIv,

Let’s look at this post: https://tomatoheart.com/niti-jha/tanmay-bhat-aib-facts/’

Look at the list point 2,7,9 and 11 .. these image looks smaller here. As you know, whenever we upload an image, there is an original version of it, and there are medium, thumbnail, large versions of it based on your media settings, and then there are options to re-size any in-content images by dragging up and down from the corner.

Whatever size you actually put on the content, it gets displayed likewise when published. It works like this in all other default posts and various templates but not on smart lists.

No matter what sizes you choose under smart list, it always shows the original version. But this makes our article images look non-symmetrical and ugly. How can we display images the way we re-size images under these smart lists?

Please help me solve this issue.

If you are unable to understand the issue. Ask me again to re-clarify it.

Thank you so much.

Hello,

On mobile, for a good quality for your images, you should enable the retina support for your thumb used by you. I noticed that you are using the post template default which uses the 640*0 sizes. Try to enable this option from Theme panel, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/fwBQvYrm5K and then, using the Regenerate Thumbnails you should regenerate this image from Media Library like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/zlNhLa8wJyn Clear all your caches and check the results.

Thanks for the message!

On my website, only certain sizes of images will upload – most often if they’re under 500×500 photos they’ll upload, but it’s extremely frustrating having to resize every single photo. Most often, the image will either be stuck at a half-load bar, or an HTTP error will display in red. Is there a way to fix this so that images can properly upload? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Each block is different, and it contains a combination of modules which use different thumb sizeshttps://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/ Also here is more information about how the cropping of the feature images works – https://forum.tagdiv.com/featured-image/ In your case from what I can see when the post has a featured image set, the module gets smaller in size somehow when it should remain the same. Try to use your browser inspector and check the thumbnail size for a block and module where this happens – https://www.screencast.com/t/kOTSIpm6kN and compare it to what it should be in theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/PyZlIubvU Or if you could provide a link to your site we can take a look at this. In most of the cases any image or thumb related problem is caused by a plugin, so you could try also to disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear your cache and see if it still happens.

Thanks

Hi,

It seems you have to reduce it again to about 110% : https://www.screencast.com/t/p8lZl3mx If you keep chanign the thumb sizes, the text will not move along with the image. If you adjust the images again, you have to adjust the margins again.

Hi I have some questions

1- Please see this screenshot http://gulf-up.com/do.php?img=267223
When I hover over a post title or sub-category title in the mega menu the title becomes white with the white background. I want to insert another color for the hover in mega menu

2- Please see this screenshot http://gulf-up.com/do.php?img=267222
As you see some sub-categories are hidden under this icon. Can I show all the sub-categories tags/buttons without being hidden under this icon (for all sizes: Desktop and Mobile and others)

3- I asked you this question before but just in case you didn’t understand me, I will rewrite it.
I have a background image in the (footer) but it does not fit nicely in the mobile so I want to remove it from mobile if it’s possible.

I’m designing the homepage and selecting blocks. http://www.healthfixesfordads.com/

In the left-hand column, as you scroll down I’m using 2 block 6’s, then a Block 7, and a Block 11. I’m just testing their appearance for now.

In the theme panel, the thumbnail size for Block 7 is defined as 100 X 75.

And, the thumbnail size for Block 11 is defined as 180 X 135.

On the homepage, the thumbnail for Block 7 displays larger than Block 11. Why?

Secondly, how can I make the thumbnail for Block 7 display a larger image? Perhaps, an image that’s 180 X 140.

Thanks,
