So, please notice that our theme has an option to import the demo without content and then you can create your homepage by your desired. Hello, currrently installed the theme on my site africanfoodnetwork.com using the recipe template… i wanna know if i can add a rate function on the comment section of the site, and create custom permalinks using the parent category of the post for recipes mydomain.com/recipes/%post-name%/ and for articles mydomain.com/articles/%post-name%/
and can i make a customised author page than what is the default one, maybe make some changes…?

When you say go back to version 4, do you refer to the version 4 of the theme?
I have just checked your site and you use the latest theme version 7.5.
If this happens I suggest to check your plugins, maybe you have a plugin which affect your database. Also you can check your errorlog, as the theme doesn’t reset itself and also the activation system has no influence on theme settings.
However I recommend to make and have a backup of your install – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

This could be a caching issue. Please disable any hosting cache (contact your host) and only use wp super cache and these settings: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/ If you use a cdn: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/
It could also be a plugin conflict so please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

I installed 4.7 and I did some testing. Until now everything seems to be working fine.
I have installed WordPress 4.7 on updated Newspaper theme but haven’t find any compatibility issue till now.
Though it appears to be a little faster than before. 🙂 No sure, if it’s psychological illusion or what 🙂

Sorry but the screenshot does not work. IF you want to fix 500 errors, you should search for a few online solutions such as: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-500503-when-trying-to-open-sitemap/
Please make sure you use the latest theme version and that you update the plugins as well . The plugins do not update automatically along with the thee so you have to disable and delete theme and install them again from the main theme package under the plugins folder (I;m referring to the theme plugins)

Well you do not have VC installed at the moment so I cannot say for sure what is happening. please try this test:
disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. We do not make any changes in theme panel the Article Inline Ads should have this options there. If the problem is still there, please try to re-install the theme via FTP, clear all your caches and check again the results. I have inspected your website and saw that you have some issues to your console and also, I have noticed that you are using some untested plugins. Please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins. Make sure that all of these steps were made via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. How did you reinstall your backup 7.3 after your site broke? Did you delete the uploaded theme from cPanel and WordPress automatically chose another theme? or did you do the other way. This sounds helpful if it may occur with me in future.

It is a fresh install, don’t have this problem on Newsmag, have tried on chrome and firefox. It pretends that it loads and nothing happens.
I do installed all from the zip files but still need to upgrade and activation.

Hello – I have installed the newspaper theme but after installing the visual composer, it keeps asking me for an activation key. How do I get this corrected?
So right now, on MOBILE VIEW menu (I don’t have mobile theme installed), when I click on menu symbol, I can only see my main categories. Behind every main category there is an arrow, and only when I click on the main category, the subcategories are displayed. Otherwise they are hidden…
Now I have seen on other websites, for example in the example below, where subcategories are displayed under main categories (with indented position) right when you click on menu symbol:

You don’t need to do that with a responsive theme.
If you wanted to have a second version of site in a sub domain, you’d need to do separate install of WordPress, and theme in the sub-domain, then setup a browser sniffer to redirect mobile traffic to the m.site.domain.
YOu’d likely need to hire a developer to help you with that. You’d also need to use some kind of sync program to sync desktop and mobile versions of site content.
Not simple. There might be other ways of doing that, but just quick thought on how we used to do it in years past.
A complex regex rewrite setup might do that for you, but not sure.
A crazy number of problems since I updated the theme – !
I updated the theme. Initially via WP, encountering problems. Then using the Envato tool, and not managing to get anywhere. Eventually via FTP.
Took me a while to wipe everything properly, but I managed to re-install the theme.
I found all my settings basically intact.
Except – the homepage is completely broken. Pages and posts are broken, too, even if less messy (apparently)
Tried activate/deactivate, clearing caches.
I uninstalled the Visual Composer that came with the theme the day I purchased it (Oct 11th).
I then installed the Visual Composer that I find in the folder I can download from Envato today.
When VC is installed, but not active, the site displays almost correctly – meaning that the layout looks more like it, even if rows and columns are misplaced

When VC is installed, and active, the whole site is a mess – homepage, pages, posts, pictures, sliders – everything !
Right now, it is installed but not activated.
I have been trying a number of variations of install/uninstall – activate/deactivate – keep cache/clear cache – the theme just won’t work properly as it used to do before the update.
Please get back with a solution!

I have inspected your website, and I saw that you are using the module 1 to display the posts on the category page. So, I check your featured image, and I notice that the size of it is not right. Your natural image size is 108*300 px and the size of the thumb for module 1 is 324*160 px. Please keep in mind that you should have minimum 324px for image width if you want to bring best results. Notice that the theme thumbs only crop the image and not enlarge it. The image thumb crop from center to top the image and that’s why you have only the top of your image displayed in the thumb…the image is too short. I think that you are using some plugin which enlarges the image.
