I have an outdated version of Newspaper theme that I do not want to update because I have no advanced knowledge and I didn’t install a child theme for the (minimal customization) we’ve done.
Pretty often we get a very slow post.php when we want to post new articles. Often getting 504 Gateway Time-Out.
I was wondering if you guys offer and can quote me with a way to fix this for once and forever. Your reply would be very much appreciated people from tagDev team.

I have a problem with my home page.
Suddenly WP in “modify the home homepage” shows me only half of my widgets.
It had already happened last week. Suddenly it stopped working correctly. Believing it was a bug of the WP Bakery Visual Composer PRO plugin, I tried to install another Composer but half of my home page was still invisible during editing.
I then updated the theme by switching to 8.6.
I also changed the subject by choosing a new default demo.
Then I created a new homepage from scratch.
Everything worked perfectly and properly, even though with the 8.6 version, the Tag Div Composer plugin arrived with it.
Although I had 2 layout plugins, everything worked fine.
I customized the homepage by placing the widgets, but without changing the titles that were based in English (even if from the template I selected the “Italian” language in the translation).
Today I opened my wall, I selected “edit the homepage” to be able to manually translate all the titles of the widgets but, again, suddenly, the template displays me only half of my homepage so I can’t edit or even delete all the widgets that are positioned under the Social buttons (there is a central area with the latest articles, a sidebar and under, the instagram widget, below the footer).
I no longer see either the content area, nor the sidebar nor the instagram widget or the footer bar so, I can’t modify them in any way.
I tried to uninstall the TD Composer plugin but nothing changed. I also uninstalled WP Bakery Page Builder and then installed it again. I emptied the chache, but nothing.
I no longer have access to the final area of my homepage.
Where have it been placed?
What can I do to view it again?

We use WordPress Version 4.9.1 and we have acquired and downloaded the template on 05/01/2017

Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you. Before sending us this email, please make sure that your theme has correctly installed via FTP way, if you are using some untested plugins you should disable all of them to rule out the conflicting plugins, clear all the caches, purge all CDN files and check the results.

Make sure that all of the theme’s plugins are updated via FTP way, check your system status to be increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/ clear all the caches and check the results. Most likely, the PHP memory has exhausted and that’s why you cannot save anything.

The update provided improvements to the social part of the theme as well as various fixes. There should not be any speed related issues caused by the social icons. Clear all caching installed and CDN files if used. Please provide some more details about the issues.

Sorry for this inconvenience. I see some of the icons are not displaying properly, clear the installed cache as well as CDN files if used. In almost all cases it was some form of caching that caused the issue. Check the results and let us know.

Please try again to make a new clean install from scratch via FTP way and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme core files, clear all the caches and check the results. I have made some tested on my website and it seems that everything works as expected. Purge all CDN files if you are using the Cloudflare system and check the results. The demos still have the same implementation, the black demo is supposed to be black. If you have it installed, the change in the code you mention will change most of the demo elements to the color you set

If the modification is not applying, maybe it is caching, try clearing any installed cache.

First question : I love your theme ! I have a question about the sign-up page design. For the login page, you offer a very nice looking page but for the sign-up process, that still for me the default WordPress “ugly” page. It’s possible to have the same looking design for the sign-up process and if yes, how to do that ? I know that I can install some plugin like Yith but all other plugin will be different from your nice login screen.
Second question, is their a way to have on the same looking design a more complete profile panels editor where users can change their data (without using the WordPress bar).

Make sure that you are using the latest theme version installed via FTP way because this is the surest method, in this case, remove all of the untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues.

The easiest way would be to install the demo with content, gradually replacing it with your own. Start from the top for example, with the logo, menus etc. Configure the blocks and widgets on the page to display your own content

Customize the footer as well. Content in blocks and grids can be filtered and sorted as you wish, random is one of the sorting options available.
The header style used in the demo does not have a limit for the logo size, any image can be used. However the demo uses a logo of this size

Maybe I am misunderstanding something here. The category tag that is displayed on a module can be controlled by the primary category setting. Edit the post and select the category you need to dislayed

The “Interviews” category tag is displayed in the menu for it’s posts

The “This Week’s Entertainment” tag does not appear for all the posts, which means the primary category is not yet set for them, or there is caching. Make sure all the needed posts have the primary category you want. If you have caching installed or server provided cache try to clear it.

I am happy customer who bought Newspaper theme recently. Theme works very well however very important feature for me is facebook fans count in the sidebar. I followed all the steps detailed in installation instructions, create Facebook App and copied App ID and Secret into the plugin settings (in the sidebar widget settings) and clicked Get Access Token. Access token seems to be retrieved properly however fans count shows 0 🙁 Please help! I tried to google the issue but I have no luck with this.
Please try installing the plugin and test if it will work in your end.

Strangely, I cannot go back to version 8.5.1
Each time, I always find myself with this version 8.6
I tried an another older date, but it’s the same, everything goes back except newspaper version staying at 8.6, is it normal?
should i force an install with 8.5.1 files ?

– Would you recommend installing the demo with full content or no content before making changes to it? Or would you recommend starting from complete scratch?
– How to stop randomized posts on front page?
– What should be the size of the banner for full width and height? (Basically so that my banner fills the entire yellow space)
– How to modify or delete the menu icons?
– How do you change the font of texts title and posts that are on the front page? (I’m changing the font but it doesn’t appear on front page, it only appears once I click on the actual posts themselves)

I’m starting to transfer my Newspaper site to a new host and the newest version of the theme. I have a fresh install of WordPress 4.91 and version 8.5.1 of the theme, and I’ve installed the Local News demo content. I haven’t imported any of my own content yet.
When I try to launch TagDiv Composer I get a slew of PHP errors, starting with Warning: fopen(/home/millston/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/templates/font-awesome.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/millston/public_html/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_main.php on line 393

Please try to clear all caching installed after making the update. If you use CDN please purge all files. Check if this solves the issue. Try as well to switch to the main theme if you use a child theme. Let us know if there still is a problem.
