Hello!
However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view. Let me explain some of these factors and maybe they give you some starting points for optimizing your website.
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin on not, if you are using PRO demo or a standard one.
For the page speed, I can recommend you some solutions in order to increase the score.
Our developers are working a lot to improve the page speed in every update.

Hi ChandlerBing1985, if you are using the mobile theme with amp then the mobile version and amp version will have a different layout, also the layout can be edited from Newspaper > theme pane > mobile theme -> https://i.imgur.com/DJ7XtVY.png also some settings for amp can be set from amp, like the one with redirect mobile users to amp and where to apply the amp -> https://i.imgur.com/jyPVbIg.png
I hope this will help you!
Hi,
You can use the amp like this:
– responsive version or mobile page template with amp, setting the amp on “reader” -> https://i.imgur.com/SMroJZy.png
– using the mobile theme plugin with amp, in this way the amp will have the mobile theme layout and the mobile theme plugin can be used only for mobile, for mobile and amp, or only for amp.
Right now I do not see to have some amp version on your website.
Thank you!
Hi Bettina:
Here is the link to the issue I described:

Hello, I want to randomly expose ads to be placed in mobile ads within a mobile theme. Is there no way?

Hi Bettina, thanks for your reply. We have both mobile theme and AMP (transitional) active. The homepage is the one created with mobile theme, while the posts are in AMP. When I want to switch to the mobile version of the posts, there is a problem. As you can see from the video, the header has GOSSIP written on it which I can’t change in any option present within wordpress. I would like to change the mobile version of the posts. Where can I find the settings?
In the video you can see the homepage, the article in AMP version and then the one in mobile version (the last one you see is the one I would like to modify, specifically the header).
Hello!
I’ve checked your website and it seems you haven’t the Mobile Theme plugin or AMP.
Let me explain you which options of mobile versions are:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ ; https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you’ll use Mobile theme plugin, then you can not edit the pages with TagDiv Composer.
You have only some settings for this layout, which you can find in Theme panel -> Mobile Theme. The same thing for AMP plugin too. Please note that if a page is made by Composer, than the content won’t be displayed on Mobile theme version. You should create the content with the Mobile Editor.
Please provide the link and a screenshot or a video, so I can help you efficiently.
Thank you!
Hello!
Yes, but you can use only the Mobile Theme, so for your readers will appear that mobile theme template version.
Thank you!
Hello,
To change the font size for post title from Theme Panel -> Mobile Theme -> Theme Fonts => https://i.imgur.com/tI6yfzm.png
Thank you!
According to your guide: “Mobile device support. (External plugin or theme required. See the FAQ for further details.)” What theme or plugin do you recommend/did you use when you tested? I tried Jetpack, and it didn’t work. I have the same issue as OP, the mobile theme is displayed on desktops.

As a result of the latest update, I find that the text in articles-ONLY IN THE MOBILE THEME-is centered instead of flush left. How to correct? Please advise.
After moving to the newspaper theme, we noticed a significant drop in the organic referrers in our site.
Following investigation we realised that although the AMP and Mobile versions were active, the site cannot be validated as such in the tester.
We go here: https://search.google.com/test/amp
If we disable the mobile theme plugin and leave the AMP active we get the error that “Linked AMP version is invalid”
If we activate the Mobile Theme plugin (while we keep the AMP plugin active) we get a “Not An AMP page”
We add the url of the page: (demo server) https://pathologiaeu.ecode.gr/ To be told that there is no AMP version of the page. This really hurts our search ranking.
What we like to have is to have our mobile pages to be rich in content (like the mobile version that you see in the responsive mode and/or mobile template) but to also offer the AMP versions for those who desire to see the AMP – say the search indexing bots and some users on very low bandwidth.
Hi, I recently installed this theme on http://www.contra-ataque.it and wanted some clarifications. Given the new Google regulations is it better to activate only AMP for posts or the mobile version of posts? Currently amp is active but I can’t change the layout of AMP and also I can’t change the layout of the mobile theme (in the image you can see how, despite different settings, the logos and colors of the demo gossip theme are present https://ibb.co/Jd5xvX4). Where can I change logo and other parameters? Moreover, with Google Site Kit I can’t get the banners in the mobile version automatically. Finally I noticed in Analytics the suffix at the end of the url tdb action=tdb ajax, what does it refer to?
How can I change the post title font size for mobile theme?
Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no option in mobile theme plugin for that. It is used the general option from the theme panel -> https://i.imgur.com/pE4nxho.png but this will apply on default post templates too.
On solution will be to use a custom css:
.td-post-featured-image{
display: none;
}
This need to be set in the theme panel> mobile theme > custom code> css.
I hope this will help you!
Thanks Bettina. I was just unaware that the lazy loader also provides this effect.
One more silly question.
Can you please confirm that if we like our readers to see in their mobiles the newspaper theme, we have to mark the AMP choice?
I noticed that if we select Mobile or Mobile+AMP, it displays the simplified/plain version.
Thank you!
Hello!
This situation appears when you are using the mobile theme plugin and the cache plugin that you have does not feature options for a separate mobile theme plugin therefore do not know when to deliver the mobile version and when to deliver the desktop version.
We tested with our theme the WP Super Cache and with the settings from our guide this is working correctly: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
Hi,
I want to hide the featured image on posts in mobile theme
but i don’t have this option “Post settings ” -> screenshot
Hello!
I’ve checked your post and I can see only the social share buttons: https://www.screencast.com/t/ltNKdpJj
Those are displayed in your mobile theme.
This issue has been discussed already here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/it-does-not-show-top-article-like-button/
Also, I can not see any subtitle. Do you mean the caption https://www.screencast.com/t/N1iRQ2kzbv ?
There you need a CSS code in order to change the font.
Thank you!
Hi! I’m trying to track my website http://www.officina.news in mobile version (AMP), but I can’t display Google Analytics code.
I think I’ve pasted the right code in Theme settings – Mobile Theme – AMP Analytics (because I can see it with Analytics while browsing categories).
{
“vars”: {
“account”: “UA-XXXXXXXXX-1”
},
“triggers”: {
trackpageview”: {
“on”: “visible”,
“request”: “pageview”,
}
}
}
What’s wrong with the website?
Thanks!
Andrea
Thank you. I will divide this per topic.
In Theme Panel -> Post Settings -> Sharing -> One can enable or disable
the “top article like”. I find it very useful
But this doesn’t exist in the Mobile theme. There is no “like” button in the posts.
The result is that only those visitors that are on desktop
can react, rendering a very partial picture.
If you go to https://hispanicla.com/la-nina-salvaje-de-california-28462 on a desktop you will see the “like” button below the image. If you instead use your cell, below the image are only the social media buttons. What I am asking is to make possible to add the “like” button in the mobile theme.
Best,
G
