Hi,
You can try couple of things, first activate the mobile theme of Newspaper, that will bring the speed upto/over 45 (mobile).
Next you need to check the render blocking scripts.
I used this tutorial to bring those down. (you need to understand coding for a little while)

Also I am using lot of plugins to get the work done, You can also check some for yourself.
JCH Optimize is a good one to bring the speed index up. But remember if with plugins, the website might not work properly. So, keep experimenting.
I use WP Super chache, since any other cache plugin does not make the new stories appear, and you would end up cleaning the cache every time you post a new story/article. It is not the best Cache plugin, but seems to be the only one working with Newspaper.
We also use WP Smush Pro to keep the images size low.
Some of the plugins might reduce the desktop site index, as it puts more load on server, so make sure you have good RAM and CPU on the server.
Newspaper requires good amount of resources to be quick, no matter what anyone says you need good amount of RAM and CPU for your site to be fast if you are using this theme :).
However, Newspaper is much better than other themes we have seen, as they keep it updated and their support is excellent. Only thing missing here is infinite article load and infinite smart list load. Probably we will see it in the next update. That will make bounce rate lower and also time spend on site higher.

I’m using newspaper with WP Super Cache and Autoptimize on.
Since I use WP Super cache post view count stopped counting.
I did have put the “post view count target on in the “post setting” feature in your dashboard.
Nothing to do !! Don’t work anymore. Like the saving of the DIV builder…

The included mobile theme plugin is more optimized for mobiles, it will simplify the website and provide a noticeable improvement in terms of speed on mobile. .
Each page will require two versions. For desktop you can use the page builder, but when viewed on mobile and the mobile plugin is active, the page will be empty.
Page builder content is not displayed by the mobile plugin. Mobile pages have to be simple, created within the mobile editor. This will greatly increase mobile performance. The settings of the plugin are kept to a minimum as well, many elements are predefined.
This plugin is optional, when not active the same content from desktop will be displayed on mobile as well (responsive version). So you can simply not use the mobile plugin.

I really don’t know what happened to my theme, but it seems really broken. I tried a lot of things, even installed wordpress and the newspaper theme totally fresh again and recovered only my posts, the post meta and the common wordpress option data.
I thought it could be something like the icon font issues some people had. So I tried to adjust my htaccess and allowed loading images from all sources and so on. Didn’t make a change.
Then I thought it could be an issue with the plugin Autoptimize. I checked the boxes for optimizing JS, CSS and HTML. But I couldn’t reproduce it on an other website of mine. But if I deactivate the plugin, my website gets totally broken and loses all of it’s design. So maybe it has something to do with it?

So I hope somebody have a glue what I could do to solve my problem. Or is there a way I can do a fresh install, get my posts back with some metas like seo and also not getting back the data, that seems to generate this issue?

The cache folder size is very large in size and increasing every minute.
Its causing the css cache to generate a large amount of optimized css which are quite large for css at 1.7MB each

The server disk space is getting filled up due to this problem. Please let us know if others having the similar issues using the plugin Autoptimize? Also let us know how to fix the issue ?
My problem is solved. I was wrong in assuming that the skin would not show the thumbs properly. The plugin “reSmush.it Image Optimizer” destroyed the regenerated thumbs again and again. I assume that the support has disabled the plugin in his test, so the restoration worked for them but not for me.

Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. Also, check all of your Ad Spots and if you have entered any suspicious code through them, remove all of them and check the results without them.

Is possible tat one of your plugins to make that conflict, please make sure that all plugins that you have are set well.
Also we recommend WP Super Cache.
If the problem persist please deactivate all plugins , clear all cache , and try again ( in this way you can identify the plugin that cause this problem ).

I’m sorry to hear these words from you! Please notice that our theme is fully optimized and indeed, our CSS is too large but notice that in the future we are trying to minimize it. At the moment, if you want to make some theme’s customizations, you need to edit the style.css file. The .less CSS code is not recommended to be changed.
