Hello Viju,
The theme does not come with the robots.txt file by default. You should create it your own. Check more details about this case, here -> http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-robots-txt-for-seo/
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
1. There is no settings in our theme for that, but you can follow some steps to do that.
Please read this-> https://www.shoutmeloud.com/how-to-remove-date-from-google-search-results.html
-> https://oscarmini.com/2014/04/how-to-remove-date-from-google-serp-snippets.html
2.Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized.
Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme. Also, notice that we have a speed optimization tutorial but this is addressed only to advanced users. So, if you follow the steps which are presented in this tutorial here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ you can increase the page speed loading and if you are not aware of the steps in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because the speed optimization services are not covered by our support policy, as you can read here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/support-policy-2/ Check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ regarding on dedicated server to fit our requirements.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have such an option to minify the style.css file and we cannot recommend any plugins with this functionality because is not tested with our theme. For minifying this file, we are using CloudFlare for our demo and works fine. If you want to read other views from our users, please check this topic -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tip-how-to-easily-minify-your-css-without-breaking-your-site/
Also, check all of your Ad Spots and if you have entered any suspicious code through them, remove all of them and check the results without them.
One of our top members here on the forum wrote his own optimization tutorial here:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tutorial-chriss-custom-optimizations-for-functions-php-etc/ and here -> https://www.infophilic.com/get-almost-100-pagespeed-newspaper-theme/
Basically, these are the theme requirements

On the other hand, I would like to comment on the loading speed of my web in google. It is very slow I’ve optimized it as best as possible, but it’s still very slow. What do you recommend that I can do? Any advice with the Newspaper theme? Thank you.
Hi,
Please be notice that the Autoptimize plugin is not tested with our theme, this is the list with plugins that are tested with the theme https://www.screencast.com/t/2bL9Uga4Wf6C
Is possible that the plugin interfere with theme settings.
Thank you.
I try to change the background color of the header and the Main Menu. Only disabling Autoptimize Plugin can be done. When activating Autoptimize again, the default colors return. Why?
Thanks!
I request you or the Tagdiv community, Please make a simple step by step video tutorial for us. So, we can optimize our website and increase the speed, as the new update will provide slighter less speed than the older one.

Hello,
I’m trying to optimize my website and have read that I should reevaluate the robots.txt file. When I go https://collabhype.com/robots.txt, I see a few lines, which look standard. However, when I go to my host to edit, I am unable to find the file. Where does this existing one come from? Does the Newspaper theme create a robots.txt file? If not, do I need to create my own?
Thanks
speed booster deactivate because i have some plugin like akismet anti spam i delete it but it still deactivate because i have other plugins like autoptimize
(Speed Booster : v4.9.3 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: autoptimize/autoptimize.php)
can you help me to avoid this issue
Hello spu,
I have checked your website and it seems to work as expected! I did not saw any such a problem with it. Please notice that the WP-Rocket and Autoptimize plugin has not been tested with our theme and we cannot say for sure that all of these will work as expected with the theme, sorry! Regarding on Cloudflare, ensure that you have correctly set up it according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/ We recommend using the WP Super cache because that plugin is fully tested with the theme.
Thanks for your understanding!
How I improved my pagespeed score after trying all the recommended fixes, I tried all of the fixes for getting a good pagespeed score and it was still under 70 on mobile, After experimenting Plugins and other stuffs There are 2 main things gave me a good boost in pagespeed score.
1. Change your Server – Make sure your server response time is great, it really affects your pagespeed scores
2. Try Autoptimize over WP Super cache -The Autoptimize Plugin seems to works better than WP Super cache (recommended one).
The 3rd one is optional
3. Optimize your images – The sites like compress.io helps you do this.
Hi,
We just updated the theme a week ago and we are facing a new issue.
Whenever we push out a new article/story, the home page/front page does not get refreshed. This is something we are facing suddenly. Earlier when we used to push it out the front page used to get refreshed on its own. Could it be a cache issue? We clear cache every time but the front page does not get refreshed on its own on Dekstop and mobile.
We have to physically either press F5 or hit the refresh button on the browser only then we see the new article on the home page.
We are using Autoptimize, wp-rocket plugins as well as cloudeflare CDN. Website: http://www.gadgetbridge.com
please help.
Thanks
Hello, I’ve recently installed newspaper theme and after navigating through to the theme panel for a few days, I have lost access to an entire menu!
The one that includes the appearance for widgets and other options. Now the menu is just the WP menu access to widgets.
Its like the WP menu overrode the newspaper theme panel menu.
Clicking on theme panel brings me directly to the header/footer/ads page, but I can no longer see appearance, or the option to look at widgets.
They were all in an additional menu to the left.
I did install a few different plugins, hidemywp, wpoptimizer and so forth, but I didn’t think their installation would remove the entire menu from the theme panel.
Now all I can do is change the ads on my template.
Does someone know if I can redeploy the menu options or something?
Not a tech person, any help is much appreciated!
Hi,
We are aware of the decreasing performance in the theme. There are plans to optimize the theme in the coming updates. There will be somewhat major modifications made which will have a direct impact on performance.
After the previous theme updates we have reached the point where these modifications will be possible to implement.
I can’t say if this will happen in the next 2-3 days, it will happen as soon as possible however. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Thank you!
Hi guys! I just bought your theme Newspaper 9 and installed your tech demo. Also I installed WP Super Cache and set it up in accordance with your instruction: https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/. Please, note that the backend interface of this plugin has changed and your instruction is not up-to-date(. Update your instruction ASAP, please.
The pingdom (London location) load speedtest of my original website: wilhard.ru is 2 seconds. The load speed of your demo on the same webhosting is 4 seconds (dev.wilhard.ru).
Also, please, check your the pagespeed of your demo website with Newspaper 9 –
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdemo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewspaper%2F
Even your demo (https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/) is not optimized for speed and very very slow(((.
I read your article how to make the site faster (https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/).
This article is written for those who doesn’t understand anything in development.
Guys, I like your theme and want to use it. Please, stop making exuses and stop telling us to hire a webdeveloper and optimize your theme for speed. It’s your job!
Optimize the empty demo theme so that it will give us 1 second load speed with a good webhosting. Please…
Please, do it ASAP. In 2-3 days. Optimize all your demo themes and show us it through Google Pagespeed (https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdemo.tagdiv.com%2Fnewspaper%2F&tab=desktop)
Thank you in advance.
Hope for your understanding…

Hello Bale,
Please notice that the Autoptimize plugin has not been tested with our theme and therefore we cannot offer support for it, sorry! Our tested plugin for the cache is WP Super Cache, according to our documentation from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thanks for your understanding!
which plug-in is good to delete cache replace Autoptimize ?
thank you for replying above.
I am new to google analytics so this may be an issue there with the way I am viewing my reports, however, I have a post that I just made. The post view says that it has over 1000 views which shocked me because this is a brand new website. I did do some good keyword research and optimized the post pretty well from an SEO stand point, but my google analytics says that there is 60 views. Im not sure how the tag div post view option categorizes post views, but there is definitely a difference from the google analytics.
hi, I’ve come here to ask something.
I consider installing Autoptimize plug-in and Smush plug-in both.
can I use them ? I’m afraid of that I mistake again before:)
I appreciate replying me.
Hi Calin,
Thank you for your prompt answer. A couple of clarifications/questions:
I’m looking for either a “tag cloud” or a ‘top 10’ most applied tags (Just like with Categories)
Tag Could sample: http://discourse.metabase.com/uploads/default/optimized/2X/b/b0c1e74df6fdc61b70f8835c534e8e7167d80705_1_690x341.jpg
In my Appearance/Widget page I do not find the MOST POPULAR widget. In my (alphabetical) list it goes from “[TagDiv] Instagram” to “[TagDiv] Pinterest”. Did I miss something installing the Newspaper template? I also still have to figure out what these Block widgets are.
My Widget page also does not show the Default Sidebar used with my (Book Club) template. I can add/remove stuff using the TagDiv composer, but that also does not have the MOST POPULAR widgets.
Sorry if I sound a bit lost. 🙂
Thank you in advance for your patience.
