hi
a tried a lot things with my website. from first days of migartion to new template, we had a lot CPU load. i tried a lot method and plugins. Before this template i used 2017 version of Newspaper theme with WP super cache + for mobile WPtouch which worked very fast and not loaded CPU (lower than 10%). After migration to new template a got 100% CPU load and website almost stopped working all the time. After i found after a lot testing, what worked for me a lot
1) Use cloudflare . i started using it for few years, it’s very usefull and free
2) Hosging company helped me to cache queries of website in my VPS server. It worked a lot.
3) Now i use WP Rocket for caching but can’t say i see a lot difference with free WP Super Cache

I would like continue to optimize my Newspaper theme. please go ahead, suggest your versions, we will try them.

Hello!

This is the AMP version. Probably, you use the Mobile Theme plugin too. So, please set the logo for your mobile version in the theme panel -> Mobile theme.

We have 3 options of mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there or adjust them to look better.

2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/

3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates/design for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
You can choose to use which one is more affordable and useful for you.

Note: If you want to use version 1 or 2, then you need to deactivate the Mobile theme plugin and see the results.

Thank you!

I use siteground optimizer for caching. Some times I need to purge cache. Caching is important for us. What should I do instead of disabling the plugin?

I was able to get my page load time to well under two seconds following this guide. Cloudlfare helped tremendously. I use them for DNS.

In case it can be of help to your team, I had created this SO thread at the same time as posting here, to help accelerate things a bit. I am sharing the link here. Perhaps it contains some useful tips for optimizing those queries?

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/71532089/where-to-start-to-optimize-slow-wp-sql-query

Perhaps starting with the first suggestion to remove SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS would help indeed?

hi there
I left a message on the forums and Simion told me to come here.
Just a quick question.
I want the excepts to show under the heading as in this image.
https://aws1.discourse-cdn.com/envato/optimized/3X/f/e/fe13eaa6757b4a44e272dcfacdecdc6be6f50e4c_2_1380x550.jpeg

Basically the closest I get is this –

Can you help me customise block 2 to include the image and excerpt under the heading?

thanks in advance,
Harry

Hello,

when we use WP Rocket and activate the option Delete unused CSS, the theme breaks. If that worked, it would over-optimize our site. Do you have any ideal settings for WP Rocket or similar tool?

Tnx.

Hello Marta!

1. I do not understand.

2. Please check the console if there is no error or provide more information about this issue.

3. Please check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/how-to-use-content-preloading/
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.
Internal factors: the number of elements on the page, image size, image formats, if you are using mobile optimized layouts, console errors, if you are using the Standard Pack plugin on not, if you are using PRO demo or a standard one.

Please check the tutorials from those platforms gt metrix and Google Pagespeed Insights and I’m sure you can increase the page speed.
Please note that page speed is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/

4. Unfortunately, we do not have those settings.

5. Please provide an example of what you need to achieve. The exclusive badge it will come automatically if you edit a post and add a Locker.

6. Please check this article, disable the option and see the results: https://forum.tagdiv.com/unique-articles/

7. Yes, there are no settings or filter like this. You can Exclude Post IDs.

Hello @svphotography!

I’m sorry to hear about this. Please note that every page speed needs some improvement and it is not enough to install a plugin only because there are many factors which can affect your page speed quality.
Some factors which you need to take into account are:
External factors: server speed, if you are using CDN or not, the external resources loaded by your website like ads, fonts, tracking scripts like Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, Twitter analytics, Hotjar and so on.

Hi,
There can be more situations, usually depends on whether your code is minified or not. This situation appear when you use optimize plugins, cache plugins to make the site faster.

Hello!

If you use only one category template for your categories, then you can convert that template into a mobile page and this will be applied on all your categories: https://www.screencast.com/t/mEezTBBn

We have 3 options of mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.

Hope that helps you!
