Hello we have check and everything seems to be correct now!
But, after following your instructions as explained here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/using-with-wpml/
So, I’ve set up a footer page for english version and a footer page for french version (default language)
In cloud template, I’ve also created a Single post page temlate for french version and a Single post page template for english version.
My problems
Footer
To set the footer page of english version, when on Newspaper, I chose “footer english” like this https://prnt.sc/oiewul, the same footer display in both french and english version.
Please help me to fix it. To do that the footer page swicht from english to french when we navigate on french or english version.

For Sidebar
As I told you, I’ve created an english version of for the sidebar in Cloud Template. I even have the ID number of that page. But as explain here https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/using-with-wpml/ and here in String translation https://www.screencast.com/t/2tnXvxoQisMW, when I go at String Translation section in WPML on our website to put that ID page, I do not see where to integrate that ID Page. Because I can not found where ‘sidebar page’ is located. Here is what I see when I go to String Translation in WPML :https://prnt.sc/oif8hj.
I even tried to do the same with footer page but I did not found where the ‘footer page’ section is located in String Translation.
I’ve also tried to use another method to change the sidebar by using Newspaper Theme panel / Post Settings / Default post template. There, the both single page appears in back office. Like this : https://prnt.sc/oifg0r. When I chose ‘Single Cloud Template Anglais’ for the english version. It display on the both french and english version of the website.
Please I need a help! If you could have a look, it will be great!
Thanks in advance!

Hi @wpsun,

If the those blocks make part from the page template ( how it is the Page Builder + Latest Articles + Pagination ), then you’ll Need to check in the Appearance >Widgets -> http://prntscr.com/oig87r
or if is a part of page that was build with tagDiv Composer, you can edit with this builder.
Block settings tutorial -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-tutorial/

Thank you!

Hi SimeonN,

If you want to have a different header on some pages/posts, you’ll need to set a general/global header in theme panel -> https://www.screencast.com/t/VEsottoh5 and this will be applied to all pages/post that do not have set an individual header ( to set individual header on pages you need to edit them and set from header manager the header, for post you’ll need to set the header on a single post template and apply it on posts ).

Thank you!

Hi,

If you want to remove the featured image from the top of your post articles, please note that you will need to set up the Single Template Style 5 which do not display the FEatured image at the top of the post articles. For more detail about this, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-default-templates/

Hi,

1. Please provide some more details about the way you get the red bar on the top of your website, please make sure that is not a plugin conflict, because, I can not find it, maybe is from your device or maybe there was only a cache problem -> http://prntscr.com/oi9ft1 -> http://prntscr.com/oi9gl0

2. This button appear for social share buttons -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-default-templates/

3. Those numbers appear automatic because you are using smart lists, you can check our documentation for smart list here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/

4. The blog speed is very slow because you need to optimize your website speed, please check this topic where you can find all the information you need to increase your website speed.
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-7/

5. Please notice that we recommend to use the WP Super Cache Plugin because this plugin was tested with our theme and is working properly, also I do not think that is a good idea to have active more then one cache plugin, if you want to use the “WO Rocket” you can make a test with it to see f this is working properly.

Hope this will help you!
Thank you!

Hi,

I have checked your website and I saw that you are using the pagebuilder + latest articles + post pagination page template. So, if you want to edit that section, please note that you can dod this from the panel, when you edit the page, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/AMiSrmxXyaX or if you do not like it and want to remove it, you should simply switch to a default template. For more details about our page templates, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-page-templates/

Thank you!

Hi,

The tagDiv Composer is a builder made for pages and templates not for post, from what I can see you set in post content/section shortcodes from tagDiv Composer, those will not work property in this way.
If you want to set some shortcodes in some posts, you can use the shortcode element from the Gutenberg editor -> http://prntscr.com/oi9efi

I need to have a different menu on a password protected member section of the site which has hundreds of pages in it. From what Simion C. is saying in his May 28, 2019 at 1:42pm response, it would appear I’d have to create a custom header on each and every page individually to accomplish this?

I’m hoping there’s some way to be able to create a header with menu or better yet a template that can be applied to each of the pages using the Template menu in the editor. This way I create the layout once instead of hundreds of times.

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,
SimeonN

Hi,

I am currently working on a new post.

From the page editor, I entered the post template via ‘Edit Template’ on the preview window.

I then added a ‘single post comments’ box at the end of the post. I pressed ‘save’ and exited the TagDiv composer window.

Now the preview page has disappeared. The page is white and only the header shows.

I returned to the post editor to refresh the preview button – but the page remains white and only the header shows.

Why is this happening and how do I resolve it??

Thanks

Thank you very much Calin for your reply. I hope that in future updates we can fix this detail, it would be fantastic.

I found a way to solve it “temporarily” and by cheating a little.

It consists of copying the code from the template to a page, and use this page as a “false category” in the menu of the web. To avoid duplicate content, I recommend using yoast seo and putting in these fake pages, noindex-nofollow.

In this way, we can maintain “categories” with the normal aesthetics of cloud templates, in mobile version.

Another option would be to add individually in each of these false pages, a canonical rel label, towards the original category. But I can’t find any plugin that allows me to edit the head of pages individually.

I hope it helps you, now the categories also look great: https://cutt.ly/ELewyj

Hi,

So if you want to change the elements/widgets from sidebar you’ll need to go in Appearance> Widgets and add there in the sidebar -> http://prntscr.com/oh9kun this is one method, or you can use tagDiv Composer and templates from tagDiv Cloud Library and use single post template , category templates
-> http://prntscr.com/oh9mvf

Hi,

This depend on what you want to achieve, maybe you do not need to have a post for this and you can use a page that can be build using the tagDiv Composer, a single post template like in your example is a good idea only if you want to have the same shortcode on more posts.

Thank you for you understanding!

Hi,

So if i understand correctly you want that the title of post from the category page to have a different accent color, if is so then you can achieve this in two ways:
1. Using custom css -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/ if you need help with this, Please provide me a link to your category page and I will gladly provide a custom css for you.
This is an example code
.category .td_module_wrap:hover .td-module-title a{
color: red;
}

2. You can use a category template from tagDiv Cloud Library and customize it using the tagDiv Composer .

Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your appreciation. I will try to help with the issues you are having.

In the homepage I see there are lots of mixed content issues, I believe you are in the process of installing the SSL certificate so that should solve itself when it is finished.

The wordpress recent posts widget doesn’t show an image as far as I know. It displays the post title and the date if enabled – http://prntscr.com/oh5ona
You could however use a theme block instead of that widget, and call it recent posts. Sort it by latest so that it shows the freshest posts – http://prntscr.com/oh4olg
http://prntscr.com/oh4ooy

In the footer currently I see that a footer page is set. The theme provides predefined footer templates but it can also display a footer page in the footer location
https://forum.tagdiv.com/footer-templates/
If you want to customize the footer page, there is an option in the theme panel
http://prntscr.com/oh5qo4

Note that some demos when installed will load a custom stylesheet, containing various CSS customization. The journal demo will set a background color for the website
https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_journal/
This will override the theme panel background color it seems, I will make a note of it and we will find a different solution for this demo customization. For the time being you could remove the background color from the demo here – http://prntscr.com/oh5z27 Then the theme panel color will apply. Sorry for this inconvenience.

Please let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

The mobile theme page content cannot be created with the composer, if you want the content from desktop (created with the composer) to be displayed on mobile, deactivate the plugin.

The mobile theme is created to be fast on phones, it can’t display composer content and uses predefined templates.

After the latest theme update, the mobile theme can be disabled per page/post. So for example if you want a page to not use the mobile theme, it can be done in the page edit screen – http://prntscr.com/oh5gvm
This has been a much requested feature, it is now available. Also there have been some other improvements to the mobile theme in this update. Changelog can be seen at the bottom of this pagehttps://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609

Thanks

Hi,

You can test with the Google structured data tool to see how Google sees the post
https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0/
The theme already provides the necessary date published and date updated structured data for posts, the format being based on the timezone used in the WordPress general settings.

Using cloud templates for posts, a modified date can be displayed in the post page, there is an element created specifically for this – http://prntscr.com/oh4yce

But if you have added another updated date I can’t say what Google will choose to display.

Thanks

That CSS does not work.

The category page uses the ‘Style 1’ template.
http://prntscr.com/oh03s4

Where do I change the options of the block that use the ‘Style 1’ template (for category pages) to apply the ‘accent hover color’ to title as you suggest in this link?
https://www.screencast.com/t/jYyV0MMSWWM8

That is what I want. You change the accent color in the category pages.

Best regards
Joseph

Since the latest update the navigations no longer load on category pages. We removed the category template and deactivated all the plugins, but nothing fixes. We have to remain on Newspaper version 9.6, due to the amount of control we need with child templates.

I was thinking that I needed a new customized flex box in order to call the customized single post template for only the ‘issues’ category, so I would only see the new single post template on those. Otherwise, the other post categories would go to the regular single post page (unaltered).

Hello !

I hope I got it right. The main homepage can be edited using the tagDiv Composer. If you have created one from scratch you have to set that page as homepage as you can see here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

If you mean a page for the single post template. You can edit it, save the template and set it from here: https://www.screencast.com/t/Hw0BE24p41sf

I hope I helped you better this time !

Thank you !

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! But I think we misunderstand each other. I already know that I have to go to Template Settings to change templates.

What I do not understand is how I should do to activate the template I created to have on the first page. Thus, the first page you come to if you go to a website http://www.example.com If I follow the instructions in the link you posted, I see just as in the instructions that I have created a custom template.

If I choose it in – Default post teamplete (site wide) – it will still not appear on the first page.

So that’s something I haven’t really understood. Thanks for your patience!

1. Out of those websites looks like only http://www.theepochtimes.com uses WordPress, I could be wrong however.
But I am sure that all the elements in the header menu are categories, for example
https://www.theepochtimes.com/c-us-politicshttp://prntscr.com/ogohc9
This would be the post commonly used and easy to manage method.

2. A page can contain any element available in the composer, and display the posts you want. You can use blocks and grids to display the posts you want. Each block can be filtered, so for example in one block you can display posts from a “politics” category, in another one posts from a “lifestyle” category.
These categories will also have a category page, where only the posts from them will be displayed automatically. So for example in the “politics” category page only posts have this as a category will appear, same as on the website I checked above.
In a page any post can be displayed, this depends on what content you want to filter by manually. Here is a block settings guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/

3.

A. You can create pages and not use the category pages. But you will have to create them and build them, filter the elements in them to only display posts from respective categories.

B. On the other hand category pages are already available by default, can have templates set and there are settings for them.

Both methods will work, but the easiest would be the B variant. There are less actual benefits from using the A variant. But you can choose either.

Hi,

1. If you want to use the “Time ago format” you need to use a single post template from tagDiv Cloud Library and click on single post date and enable the “Time ago format” -> https://www.screencast.com/t/2G5ogZnde0JZ

2. Unfortunately you can not switch off the module 1 from flex block 3, if you want to have only the module 2 you can achieve this using the Flex block 1 -> https://www.screencast.com/t/NCL8kBltIml

3. Unfortunately our theme do not have an option to show the share icons on blocks, sorry! our theme have the share buttons inside the post -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-default-templates/

Thank you!
