Does it say it regenerates it successfully? When I did it the first time it failed due to the pictures massive dimensions.

For me, I simply did it after making a new post – when you’re editing a post and click to add a picture, theres a “regenerate” button at the bottom for the picture you choose. Try that.

In addition, I have installed Regenerate Thumbnails plugin, but also can usually generate thumbnails

Tried Regenerate Images plugin, didn’t fix.
Just to go over the issues that are only related to front page:

1) No images showing up
2) Trending now is stuck
3) Ajax features don’t work (arrows)

All this stuff works fine on other sections like Categories

Thanks for answer, yeah I’ve used that plugin before, was hoping not to have to install it again. But that usually was when no images would show up anywhere on site, this is solely no images on the front page. Also I tried testing it out by making a New post with a new uploaded featured image, and it the image still didn’t work for the home page. Also made sure Featured images and Excerpts are checked on screen options.
Nevertheless, I’m trying out the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin right now, hopefully that works.

Simple: Regenerate thumbnails. There is plugin called Regenerate thumbnails and Force regenerate thumbnails, both are great. Just run any of them and your thumbnails will show up again.
You can find the same answer somewhere inside theme Documentation.

Cheers

Try to clear cache, if you use caching plugin, but the problem probably lies in thumbnails, so you should regenerate thumbnails.
In documentation you can find all about regenerating thumbnails.

Hi,

It seems there are problems with the thumbnail size not only in the sidebar, but also in other places. The theme will create thumbnails from you featured images, they will be displayed on modules
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Please try to regenerate the thumbnails like this
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Clear all caching after the process is complete.

Thanks

I’m not a new user and have been using the theme for more than 3 years now.
Recently I found that the new articles whichever I’m publishing have a small thumbnail on the sidebar. Previously it used to be in perfect dimensions. I regenerated the thumbnail, but still, it says the same.

Hello Dan,

Please take a look at the below explanation and try to understand a bit how it works the thumbs in the theme. Please check here ->>
Our theme uses the system of cropping from center to top. The theme uses thumbs to reduce the page size and speed up page loading time. From each image uploaded are generated thumbs for each thumb size utilized by the theme. When a post it’s displayed on the page in a block, the featured image shown is not the one which you uploaded in the media file, it’s a thumb cropped from the original image at the precise dimension. To change the picture orientation most likely you will need a different cropping system. We use a WordPress function – add_image_size() – you can read about it here – https://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/add_image_size – and here – http://www.davidtan.org/wordpress-hard-crop-vs-soft-crop-difference-comparison-example/
Our theme crop (cut) thumbnails in some cases to avoid creating a lot of thumbnails to reduce to load more spaces on the server.
If you don’t have the possibility to upload large images you could use a combination of plugins to upscale the thumbs – Thumbnail Upscale and Force Regenerate. For more information about these kinds of plugins, please consult their documentation here -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/thumbnail-upscale/ -> https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Also, please ensure that the functionalities of these plugins are not affected by the other untested plugins that could create interference through the theme. Please notice that these types of plugins are not tested with our theme and we cannot provide support for the theme. We recommend them because a lot of our customer uses and they were satisfied to their functionality.
Each theme module has a predefined thumbnail size, so results may be different for the same featured image used
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-vs-featured-image-size/

A primary example you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/rhIdwe22d2

Hello ipi_login,

Notice that the standard size for Mega Menu images is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/MtNPSfjTJ The theme uses this thumb and not use more than this image size. Provide some useful screenshots with your problem so we can take a closer look at it. Also, try to regenerate your thumbnails, clear all the caches and check the results.

Thanks.

Hi,

The theme will create standard thumbnails from the featured image you use. You can enable the creation of retina thumbnails in the theme panel
https://forum.tagdiv.com/retina-images/
After you enable retina thumbnail you will have to regenerate the thumbnails, as mentioned. These thumbnails will be displayed on high resolution retina displays. The higher image size you use for the featured images, the better the quality.

Thanks

Hi,

The most recommended method and also guaranteed to work is to regenerate the thumbnails
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
This process will recreate thumbnails from the featured images.
The thumbnails are defined in this theme file if you want to change how future thumbnails will be created, in the code
https://www.screencast.com/t/hQhW0WEf
You will have to modify the module used as well, each module uses one of those thumbnails
https://www.screencast.com/t/xd6lCHNJSdi3
There will probably be need for additional CSS styling for the module, as other elements displayed on it depend on the current thumbnail size for positioning margins, padding etc.

Thanks

Hi,

Please also regenerate your thumbnails using the force regenerate plugin. Check for any image optimization tools you might have on your site.

Thanks.

Hi,

That should not happen, the theme will create exact thumbnails from all the featured images you use for the posts. Please try and regenerate the thumbnails using this guide
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thanks

Hi,

There will be nothing different for non-retina displays. Displays that are retina will be served larger thumbnails, double the size of the normal thumbnails. This will be noticeable only on those mostly high-end retina displays.
The theme will create two sets of thumbnails from each image, if you activated the retina thumbs. It is recommended to regenerate the thumbnails after making changes in the settings
https://forum.tagdiv.com/retina-images/

Thanks

Hello manoelvlm,

Please ensure that you are using the right image size for your photos for the thumbnails if you want to achieve good results. Also, try to regenerate the thumbnails with Force Regenerate plugin and Thumbnails Regenerate and check the results. Also, if the problem is still there, please provide your website URL so I can take a closer look at it. Before this, if you are using some untested plugins, try to disable all of them and leave just to active the bundled plugin which comes with the theme.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello,

If you use a plugin like smush or an external tool to optimize images, then the quality loss can come from there. For the cropping, make sure you use a plugin to regenerate thumbs such as ‘force regenerate
For the page title on the chrome tab, you will have to use SEO by Yoast as the theme cannot change the titles in the browser tabs. I’m not sure about the redirect issue though. It could be a plugin conflict with other plugins.
If a color is added to a block then the hover color also changes.
If you want to remove the hover color from all blocks, please add this code in the theme panel-> custom css box:

.td_block_inner .td_module_wrap:hover .entry-title a{
color:black!important;
}

Thank you!

A new image uploaded should crop; an old image would need thumbs regenerated. Also note in some cases if the crop would make larger image, pesky WordPress turns off the upscale feature, so you *might* need to add the free ‘thumbnail upscale’ plugin — as I had this same issue with our stuff.

Just regenerated all the images and cleared the cache… still nothing. I even changed out the featured image several times with new ones.
