Post settings part, what I am talking about here (remember magic word “reviews”) are not part of default wordpress, it’s a part of newspaper theme. It does not come with wordpress, it comes with newspaper theme. With WP default theme contributor have access to anything they should.

This is bug and it should be fixed.
Today one site contributors told me that she does not see POST SETTINGS and can’t add information, including “review” info. WHY? This is kind of silly move. Can you guys please add it back to contributors to use too, they can’t publish anyway until moderators or administrators accept it and publish it.
Hello RobertCFP,
Please keep in mind that our theme is already responsive and each element of it, included the images will be responsive when these will be loaded for other small devices. Please check our demo preview and see the results.
Thanks for your understanding!

Hello!
After executing this SQL query:
UPDATE wp_postmeta dt1, wp_postmeta dt2
SET dt1.meta_value = dt2.meta_value
WHERE dt1.post_id = dt2.post_id AND dt1.meta_key = "td_post_theme_settings" AND dt2.meta_key = "td_review"
reviews will appear on the website? Right?
How to correctly run the SQL query on the website running C-Panel?
I’m getting this message when I go into appearance –> customize –> Newspaper theme –> live preview –> theme panel. Any advice?
View of this scenario is within the demo. My version is on a not-public server.

I am not asking to remove the gap. Im wondering if the gap is supposed to be that way, or if there is a setting to adjust it. I also wanted to point out that adding a review to the post seems to mess up the css in that block.

On July 24th I wrote, via Envato Market, to raise the issue of having erroneously purchased a second licence for tagDiv’s Newspaper theme, for which Kayhan London is seeking a refund.
It was not apparently necessary to buy the licence for a dummy site (kayhan.review.com) which is to become the relaunched kayhanlife.com.
I can provide a screen shot of the acknowledgement from Envato.
Hi,
The page menu does what it says, displays a page in the menu
-https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-menu/
That is a page created by you, with the content and elements that you place in it. It’s content should not change unless manually editing and modifying the respective page, or as it is most likely happening in this case, the plugins are inserting their content in it. Not by viewing the page menu in the category page or post page etc.
In the homepage I see the page menu contains single images and a list menu
– https://www.screencast.com/t/L2vP2OJZ5X
In a post page it should be the same page content displayed in the page menu. But I see that the plugin is inserting it’s content besides the actual elements
– https://www.screencast.com/t/bLzV3Bq70Qk
In the other post page there seems to be even more content present in the page menu, meaning those reviews, the single images and list menu, and the social plugin content
– https://www.screencast.com/t/4SorVo66
This should not happen, and does not happen by default. Once a page is created, saved and used in a page menu, the content of that page does not change automatically. It is a static page.
I have created a page with similar content and a page menu. This is how it looks on the homepage
– https://www.screencast.com/t/6whTB0OmlY
And on the post page
– https://www.screencast.com/t/33ZWIKXh
There is no difference where the page menu is viewed, it is still the same page as I created it. Maybe you can configure those plugins to not display on that particular page used in the menu, exclude it somehow. So the page will remain the same regardless of where the menu is viewed. That might work if the plugins have options like that, then you can check if the issue is still happening.
Thanks
Hi,
Updating from such an old theme version, is basically like installing a new theme. This could cause all kinds of issues. Much has changed in the theme from the version you used until the latest version. Previous customization, modifications may not work anymore.
The reviews for posts, like any other post meta should be present in the database, not lost. There is a topic describing a similar situation, and a solution is provided
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/reviews-disappeared-after-upgrade/
Thanks
Im looking at the architecture demo. I also see it my testing environment.
You will see many of the blocks have a gap between the title and author. {block 3 and 5 as an example} Its a large gap. An example is visible in sidebars which are visible on all posts. I see while inspecting it, there is no excerpt there, but the space is there via css. If I add a review to the posts, the author disappears and the gap is left there for the author.
I wonder if this is expected? If its a matter of settings, any suggestions that may point me toward the correct settings would be appreciated. I adjusted via css, but thought Id point it out in case its settings or a css booboo.
Hi,
I am using the “mega menu from pages” option for some of my menu items (e.g. “Hindernisläufe”) and it works great on the homepage. But when being on a post or page and hovering over this specific menu item with the “mega menue from pages” setting, the content or elements of the post / page are loaded into the mega menue.

Yes, I am definetely aware that you only support a specific number of plugins and that the above described effect may (!) have something to do with plugins that are not on your list.
I am using Shariff for the Social media Buttons (because we have special privacy restrictions in Germany regarding those buttons and your implemented social media buttons are unfortunately not allowed to be used in Germany).
And for the Review I am using WP Product Review Lite because your implemented review functionality does not offer the option to put the Box above the content and have special fields like Affiliate Links, etc.
I fully understand that you can not support 3rd party plugins, and I don’t expect you to. But I am kindly asking you to take a look into this Newspaper related bug. It seems not to be a “not supported plugin bug”, but a general one.
I can not use the included “mega menue from page” option because of unpredictable site effects that haven’t something to do with a 3rd party plugin but with your theme’s mega menue itself. Btw: it doesn’t matter which post template I am using – the described mega menue bug occurs everytime.
Please don’t get me wrong – your theme is great and the functionality and scalability is really amazing. But from my understanding there should be a general guarantee that the site or design does not break due to plugins that have nothing to do with the theme’s functionality.
I would really appreciate when you could check the described bug and won’t answer this post with the generic “we only support the following plugins…”.
Many thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing from you!
Regards,
Dinah
Got a little more time on my hands to explain it now, so here it goes.
Everything I will post is regarding the desktop (1141px+) view, and the code is in the Advanced CSS -> Desktop Box.
The code I’m using is as follows
.single_template_7 .td-backstretch{
transform: translate3d(-50%, -25%, 0px) scale(1.15, 1.15)!important;
}
.td-post-template-7 .td-post-header{
height:850px;
}
The image I am using is this one. The dimensions are 1920×1280
This is how the post displays on a full HD monitor (1884 width image) It looks absolutely beautiful (IMO) – Preview
If you resize the browser to emulate smaller series, a black bar begins to appear at the bottom as the image is resized dynamically. Due to the new 850px height, the image no longer covers the required area. – Preview (Note the black bar at the bottom)
As I continue to resize the browser, the black bar enlarges as the image gets smaller and eventually begins to look quite bad. Preview
As you can see, it’s still cutting off quite a large amount of the image at the top, despite the black bar appearing at the bottom. Is there a way to…’pin’ the bottom of the image, to the bottom of the header image display area, so it’ll stop creating a black bar? I can move the image down, but then it starts to cut off the bottom of the image more…and motorsport is a pain in that the car is always at the bottom. So being able to pin the bottom of the image to the bottom of the header area would solve it.
Because the mobile devices have a relatively narrow window width they operate in, it doesn’t really cause a problem in those views and I can manage it. It’s the fact that desktops have to range from 1140 up to 1920 that’s causing an issue.
Hope this explains things a bit better!

Hi there, I’m finally biting the bullet and upgrading my version of newspaper all the way from 3.91 to 8.1!
We’re getting there, but the main problem left is that the product reviews along with review text and star ratings are not displaying at all.
Is there anything you can suggest to get the reviews working? Please tell me it’s not a matter of going through manually entering 110 reviews on the site?!?
Cheers
I’ve one more question, hopefully this is just as easy for you knowledgeable guys!
Is it possible to extend the bottom of the Featured Image in Post Style 7? It looks brilliant, but it’d be nice if it could have a ‘full screen’ option.
For example, my post currently looks like this. Would it be possible to drag the bottom of it down to get an effect like The Verge has created here?
If not, I highly suggest this as an option for future updates. It’s a great design idea. 🙂
Hi,
That is how the reviews are displayed in the post page. You could use some CSS to hide the Summary box if that is what you want
– https://www.screencast.com/t/NYphIZ2B7
– https://www.screencast.com/t/qVX13zylrpm
This is the code used in the example, if it is what you need enter it in Theme panel->Custom CSS
.td-review-footer {
display: none;
}
Please correct me if I misunderstand what you wanted.
Thanks
Hello there. I want custom my single-template.php in Newspaper Child. But i have a problem when i want to show the Review, what should i have to write when i want to show the star only and no review box.
When i write this code
<?php echo $td_mod_single->get_review();?>
the result is not good http://prntscr.com/gm8v1d
Please help me. Sorry for my bad english
This builder is a total nonsense. Very hard to implement any custom post type, to get effects like we can have with visual composer addons,…+
+ it is onlyfront end, which can be nice for beginners but impossible to handle for experts…
+ lets talk of SEO impact of those “builders” which cant be reviewed easily…A NIGHTMARE.
I loved your theme but i wont use it anymore because of this !

The closest theme setting in this purpose is the smart list https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/ but it does not have the ability to have all the reviews from different posts grabbed into the list unfortunately. Sorry but the theme has no such feature available.
Thanks.
OK, we will look into jetpack and reviews and see if there are any inconsistencies.
Thank you!
So this is what my post looks like now
http://streamtheplanet.com/best-kodi-box/
Is there a way that I can separate each review into its own post, but then bring all the reviews together into one article?
Hello,
I have more questions.
1) Can you please tell me how to set up the post links? Please see below:
Beauty – http://jazko.com/beauty/xxx (let’s assume the name of the post is called xxx)
Fashion – http://jazko.com/fashion/yyy
As for now, I know it should be custom, but not sure what to type in to that space. I do not want date or year to be included on the URL links.
2) I am the admin of my website. I also create an editor and author account. Somehow, if I log in as author or editor, the top of wordpress has weird codes. If I log in as admin, everything runs normal. Also, I cannot preview post as an editor or author, only as admin. Can you please tell me what is happening and how to fix this?
3) Can you please tell me where exactly to go to remove icons for facebook/twitter/subscribers on the homepage? I tried to look them up, not sure which block they are.
Thank you.
Hello,
I’m looking for the same, but I have the JetPack sharing buttons before the review block comes. I’ve edited the loop-single-*.php files to move the get_review directly after the get_content line, but the sharing buttons stay. Any idea?
Thanks!
Hi,
I have a post with a feature image that is portrait. The image doesn’t seemed to be cropped. It is showing the entire image. Is there a way to keep the feature image at a 16×9 ratio?
http://culturalattache.co/?p=738&preview=true
Thanks!
Is is possible to get a Toplist (for example a Top 5) of the Reviews with most points?
I want such a Top 5 in the Sidebar. With the WordPress Plugin “Reviewer” it is possible.
Or is it possible to get the Widget from “Reviewer” in the Sidebar on the Startsite direct under the Social Plugin?
Hope you understand me
