Hello colinsherlock,

Usually, this kind of error appears when using CDN or loading fonts from a different source. Please try to use this solution and take a look at this: http://screencast.com/t/AMjW530CSH6 and this: http://screencast.com/t/dLjEUGGwQUZ
The solution to this issue is simple. You will need to add some code to your .htaccess file like this post suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

Hello,

I experience a strange problem. I have set up your template and all worked as expected until I noticed a strange issue. When I enter http://www.pressonline.gr at the address bar of my browser (internet explorer) the sites displays its latest version (latest posts). When I enter pressonline.gr (ommiting the www) I see a previous version of my site that requires a refresh.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Best Regards,
Vasileios

Hi

We have several articles that have more views registered over the last 7 days then they have in total. This happens at articles published in the last two weeks. We have installed the newest version of Newspaper on May 18 and that is also the first day it seems to go wrong.

I noticed this in the database when viewing the details of a post with phpmyadmin and comparing post_views_count_7_day_total with post_views_count.

Hi,
It seems your site does not use a thumbnail for that module’s images. Please make sure you have this thumbnail active: http://screencast.com/t/Ee3rTOnEPzW and remove any image optimization tools you might have like photon from jetpack for example. And then regenerate your thumbnails. Please follow this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Thank you!

Hi,
please disable all plugins excepot visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Then check the images again. If they are not back to their proper resolution, you may have to regenerate the thumbs: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
Image optimization tools usually create this issue but other plugins can cause it as well.
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you!

Hi

I’ve checked your site and noticed that the images used for module 16 are not cut at the right sizes, that’s why the page layout it’s affected. Try to regenerate your thumbnails following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thanks!

Hi,

Strange that there is no error. Usually if the demo does not load, there will be an error provided to let you know that the process did not complete. Please follow this topic and try a few solutions posted there: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/installing-demo-problem/

Thank you!

Hello Rhonda,

It seems to be a strange behaviour. I suspect this problem come from your caching. Maybe, after your updating to the latest version of the theme, your caches were cleared and the post appears.

Thanks for your message!

Hi,
I have inspected your site and saw that it does not use thumbnails at all but the full images re-scaled to fit the container. Please make sure you have thumbnails active in the theme panel for the elements that you use on your site: http://screencast.com/t/cFQZxOSfyGGX and then use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hi,

We have block 14 at the bottom of our page: https://www.lettogsunn.no/bestill-clorogen-na/

As you see there are some strange grey shadows to the right of every post: Can this be removed?

Thanks!

Hi Bogdan

Yes, the error is in home

Strange, because they are several months that I have not active log and the error started when I installed the mobile newspaper version 7.0..

In any case I try to mark it as correct and let you know if it is repeated again

Thanks!

My site works fine on desktop and from what I can see, it works in responsive desktop, but things get strange on retina mobile and tablet.

The site is http://antojandoando.com/ which looks normal on desktop, but the pictures on home page do not display on mobile or desktop.

This carries into the posts where the top image does not display:
http://antojandoando.com/explorando/articulo-20-clasicos-de-los-80s/

Oddly, this is not a problem on recipe posts (a custom post type) which have no problem displaying a lot of images on retina mobile:
http://antojandoando.com/recetas/arroz-mixto-con-salchicha/

Also strangely, the same images work fine on mobile/tablet on the category pages:
http://antojandoando.com/topics/recetas/arroces/

I am running out of ideas on what might be happening. The tech support at wpengine said that: “it looks like whatever is serving the images is having issues replacing .png with @2x.png for retina screens, for the higher resolution”

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Greg

Hi,

you were right. That seems to do the trick! Please mark as closed. Strangely enough I have never had anything like that in the past.

Hi support,
When using Newspaper 7.01 with the latest version of Internet Explorer 11 (on Windows 10) I’m getting a very strange visual error. My site isn’t live yet, so I’ve created a small video for you to see for yourselves (linked below).

http://galacticbrain.com/Internet-explorer-newspaper-problem.mp4

Basically, every time the page loads, it appears that the mobile menu is trying to open – and it flashes across the header section, travelling right to left. Happens on every page load. Doesn’t matter what page is opened.

I’ve tried uninstalling all plugins (leaving only the ones you recommend) but this hasn’t fixed it. I’ve also removed any custom CSS, cleared caches, etc., all without success. I’m not running the mobile theme, just your inbuilt responsive menu in version 7. I also don’t use Visual Composer, so I know that’s not the cause. The site works fine on all other browsers.

Have you seen anything like this before in IE? Any suggestions? Is there any way I can override the mobile menu loading initially? If you think this is the cause? Have been trying to fix for awhile now and am completely stumped!

Any help appreciated. I can send you admin access if you need a closer look. I’m hoping it’s something you’ve seen before.

Thanks,
John

Hello mixamex.com,

It is a little bit strange this. Please ensure that you have cleared all your caches and test it again. Basically, it is no link between the changing language to English in WordPress and the Mobile theme, though.

Thanks.

Hi,
In order to fix thumbnails, please make sure you have thumbs active in the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/fzvX59kfx and then use this guide to fix them: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
For the bookmarklet, please make sure you do not have a plugin conflict on your site by disabling all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.
As for the google analytics code, please just insert the large part of the code, not the small one. Please follow this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/analytics-entry-in-theme-panel/#post-97773
Thank you!

I’ve noticed a strange font behavior after uploading to Version 7 of Newspaper.

We use Francois One as our header font and Lato as our body font at http://www.theapexracing.co. When pages initially load, a different font is briefly seen on every platform I’ve been able to test (OS X, iOS and Android) before the correct font loads. Please see the following two videos with examples:

We would like this issue to not occur. Is there a way to avoid the font changes as the page loads? Thank you.

Hello tagDiv
Thanks for your frequent update, but there are some errors affter I updated.
My website: http://www.blackcoffeeseries.com
First, it seems like that the mobile sidebar is overlaped on the web theme in a strange way.I did not change any setup after the update.
screenshot1:http://i.imgur.com/AhHxtyZ.png
screenshot2:http://i.imgur.com/BPUPsMm.png
Second, I can not activate the mobile theme and I guess this error is related to the first.
screenshot3:http://i.imgur.com/N0VHKGb.png
Please help me find out the solutions. I downgrade the theme to 6.7.2 for now to fix the problem.
