Hi Catalin, No I did not meant that.

Do you see the elements window on picture? On right there are urls like ei.rlcdn.com, ib.adnxs.com, ps.eyeota.net, rc.rlcdn.com.
What are those urls, and how did they get there? I don’t work with non of them.
ib.adnxs.com is the strangest out of all of them…. never inserted that ad network.

Hello kalapapla,

I suggest you disable all your plugins except Visual composer, clear the cache if you have one installed, then use this guide to regenerate your thumbnails
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
The theme creates the thumb sizes used on the blocks from the featured image you set for the post, maybe something is interfering with this process, try the regeneration tool and it should recreate the thumbs needed.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi!

I have been using newspaper theme for 5 days now.

Have removed all ads from theme settings page, but still I can see strange ad tags in here – I don’t work with those networks. in fact, I don’t work with any network at the moment (attached a screenshot): picture

they seem to be in <body> </body> clause
How can I delete them?
Where did those tags came from?
Am using wordfence and server firewall, so it’s worrisome.

Hello gunngx,

1)If you want to reduce that white gap, you should use a bit of CSS code to do that. Try the code below and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.

The code is ->
.td-main-page-wrap {
padding-top: 15px;
}

The result is here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/O6g81zm0U

2)You should regenerate your thumbnails using the Force Regenerate Plugin and Regenerate Thumbnails. For more information about this problem, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thanks for your understanding!

Would you please consider adding at least one more input box in the custom code section? There should be a box for entering code in between the <head> tags on every page. Anyone who works in publishing will need this. You realy can’t advertize effectively on either facebook, google or twitter without using the tracking options/pixels, so it’s a bit strange that <head> code editing is not present in a newspaper theme. It is realy cumbersome to have to use ftp and edit the header.php every time. Also, it get erased on every update (yes I’m aware of the child theme possebility, but that actually didn’t work well).
Thanks.

Hello,

The best image to use is a full hd image of 1920 x 1080 as the theme creates thumbnails for each case in particular and the full size will not be used on the site except when accessing the image itself.
There is no best or worst aspect ratio as the theme creates thumbs if the image is large enough as there is a cropping system that will get the size it needs for the thumb from your image. The main issue is the size. In order to prevent the spaces for the images, you need to have a featured image larger than the container in the grid. The theme crops images but it does not enlarge them. If your images are bigger than the container, you probably did not regenerate the thumbnails. You can use this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Thank you!

Website: https://www.usadojo.com

I am using Yoast SEO. I have verified my site in my Google Webmaster Tools. One day I will see thousands of pages indexed in my webmaster tools and the next day it says pending without me resubmitting the sitemap. It will then stay pending for weeks.

If I type site:usadojo.com it shows 6,850 pages are indexed and Google Indexed Pages Checker shows that 6,860 pages are indexed. Why does no data show in Google Webmaster Tools and when I Google search individual pages, few show up in Google?

Also what needs to be put in my robots.txt file for your theme. I am seeing very strange links to php files and php error codes in the Newspaper 7 theme on my website that should not be showing up in a Google searches.

Please advise. Thank you!

Hey Simon,

I appreciate your reply, its all good, I can understand your initial reservations…RTL is pain in the ass.
But i must say, this is far from being a first theme we RTL, this issue is still quite strange for all the crazy stuff that happens with RTL, so i am not sure it is, and if it is then at least i will know for sure, and it will be much more easier to solve it.

so as currently this version of the website is not live yet, in order to see it you will have to modify your ‘hosts’ file with those records:

82.166.139.85 naturetech-stage.co.il
82.166.139.85 http://www.naturetech-stage.co.il

then you will see the issue all over.

thank you in advance

Hello Elisa,

I have inspected your website and I saw that your featured image are not correctly displayed at the front end. Make sure that you have correctly added your images from post editor and also, ensure that you have added the big size of your image. After this, you should use the Regenerate Thumbnails and Force Regenerate to regenerate your thumbnails and then check the results. Try to check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi,
I am having an issue with all featured images on my website.

It is strange because it used to work well until a couple of weeks ago.

On some posts the image is on the left and on some others it is zoomed in, here below a couple of examples:

http://www.hackersales.com/successful-opening-lines-for-your-sales-emails/ (zoomed in)

http://www.hackersales.com/sales-activities-must-understand/ (on the left)

I haven’t changed anything in the setting. The only thing that happened is that i changed hosting for the website.

Thanks
Luca

Hello, we tried to access a post page from the Facebook Mobile in-app browser from two different Android devices, one has Lollipop 5.1.1 the other KitKat 4.4 and both of them hasn’t rendered properly the page. Lollipop mobile has FB version 122.0.0.17.71 and KitKat has FB version 105.0.0.23.137.

The thing is that on Chrome, Firefox, and Android browser from the same mobile phones the site renders fine no problem! Only Facebook’s Mobile in-app browser renders it incorrect. We use style 10 and have customized a bit the section with the image and the post title, and we use css media queries to check if someone has accessed the site from a mobile/tablet/desktop, which up until now everything worked without any issues…

Here’s the url were in the Mobile Facebook in-app browser the page looks funky:

http://mixani-new.cre8media.gr/arxaiotita/pente-sigkinitikes-archeologikes-anakalipsis-pou-ekanan-tous-erevnites-na-dakrisoun-thisies-pedion-agkaliasmeno-skeleti-ke-istories-eonias-agapis/

And here’s a screenshot how the site looks like:

Any help?

Hi There,

Firstly, I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the search functionality of this forum seems to be broken, It makes it difficult for me to research this issue.

We continue to have intermittent load and performance issues, we seem to have narrowed it down to multiple /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

It appears one article page load will generate 21 requests to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php.

We are seeing strange intermittent issues where I believe (according to our tech) we are being flooded with these requests, we get an abnormally high number of active nginx connections, the site eventually slows to a stop and crashes. Strangely it eventually (maybe after an hour) it corrects itself, it doesn’t seem to be associated with high load.

I’ve read a few similar threads of people experiencing ver similar issues

https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/i-need-shim-working-again/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/high-processor-usage-by-admin-ajax-and-index-php/

I’ve read a few different bits of advise with no particular resolution.

1. Potentially it’s an issue with Visual Composer and changing to TD Composer might fix the issue, this seems risky, so I’m hesitant to do this work unless there is a high level of confidence that is will fix the issue.

2. Reduce the reliance of ajax and pagination on blocks, I’m happy to do this, but the vast majority of my users access the article page directly and through mobile devices. For example yesterday we had 550K impressions on mobile and 7K impressions on desktop.

What specifically should I be looking for to reduce AJAX calls and pagination? I can’t see any specifically on the article pages.

At this point I’m willing to forgo almost any functionality that is not crucial to our business to ensure stability.

The site is http://www.shwemom.com

Cheers,
Mick

Hi,

There is no need to use a hack to display the images properly. The theme automatically creates the necessary thumbnails needed for the blocks or big grids, from the featured image you set on the post
https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
You can use this guide to regenerate the thumbnails if they are not displaying properly
https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/
After the regeneration process is complete, please clear any caching installed.
Also as it is usually the case for most image problems, some plugin you have installed could be interfering with the theme, causing this issue. You could try to disable them all except the ones bundled with the theme, clear the cache if you have one installed, and check to see if the problem is still there.
If you try these suggestions and the result is not favorable, please provide a link to your website, so we can inspect it.

Thanks

Hi,

That is a strange issue. From what I understand this is happening in the dashboard and post section
https://www.screencast.com/t/4plpIoqak
You can control what fields to display in screen options tab
https://www.screencast.com/t/rYhDv4WFcuP
Maybe you have too many columns and that is why it displays like this.
If this is not what you meant, please provide more details about this and some useful screenshots.

Thanks

Hi,

Please check your sidebar from Widgets area and verify if your widgets are still there.
Please make sure you don’t use any strange characters or specific language letter(like Ú) to your sidebar name – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/sidebars-not-working/
Also please deactivate all your plugins except Visual Composer and check again the result.

Thanks!

Hi,

I’ve been trying to figure this one out for quite some time. By changing the theme colours in “theme panel” i should be able to change the default background AND font colours. For some strange reason that doesn’t work for the “Related articles” box in posts: http://eu-uutiset.fi/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/theme-colors.jpg

Is there anywhere else that font colour can be changed (that I might have accidentally set), should it be white, or might there be a misconfiguration in the theme? I’ve searched through all of the colour settings in my theme panel, but haven’t come up with any results. I use no external or added css that should interfere with the header font colours.

The font colour works flawlessly everywhere else than in the “Related articles” header.

Hello vikaskukreja83,

Ensure that you right added the size of your image from post editor, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/w7PPwpfAzt Select the full size of the image. Probably, you have accidentally selected the thumbnail size and that’s why you bring this error. Please ensure that all of the thumbnail settings are set to “on” in the theme panel, and then try the thumbnail regeneration per the following suggestion here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/thumbnails-fix-strange-looking-images-on-blocks/ Clear all your caches and check the results.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the message!

Hello bformhals,

Usually, this kind of error appears when using CDN or loading fonts from a different source. Please try to use this solution and take a look at this: http://screencast.com/t/AMjW530CSH6 and this: http://screencast.com/t/dLjEUGGwQUZ
The solution to this issue is simple. You will need to add some code to your .htaccess file like this post suggests: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/strange-chinese-symbols-replaced-icons-and-arrows/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the message!

But the strange thing is that I put the nofollow right in the same line of code that you tell me and it does not work for me.

I asked this about a week ago, but so far no reply. It’s difficult for me to diagnose this, I had to see it myself before I understood the problem. I work on a laptop, my client on a tablet (Ipad). Trying to recreate the problem on my tablet didn’t work. On my tablet (iPad2), everything works fine. On his tablets (more recent iPad version) not. Not on one tablet, but 2 different ones.

When he copies and pastes a url inside a post, the url is not saved in the text, but as the link itself. Copy & pasting over a word in the text doesn’t work. The link replaces the text. I’ve tried several ways on his tablet, no go.

There is another problem, with Virtual Composer. Happened at the same time, so I think these problems are related. When he wants to moderate a comment, he can’t. He only sees a screen asking to register Virtual Composer. Clicking ignore doesn’t do anything.
