Hi,

I installed speed booster plugin but at the System Status panel it says:
Speed Booster v4.5 – Disabled – incompatible plugin detected: advanced-custom-fields-pro/acf.php

It seems there is an “Allowed Plugins” list at the code. Am I not allowed to use speed booster plugin if I install any other plugin that is not on the list ?

Hello cityguide,

Most likely your PHP memory is exhausted. Try to increase your system status parameters according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Please keep in mind that most of the time, a 503 error occurs because the server is too busy or because there’s maintenance being performed on it. I’ve been using Newspaper theme for over a year now. Recently I updated it 7.5 using the Envato toolkit plugin. And today I found that in the system status it’s showing Your theme is not registered. Can anyone help?

Hello robbie,

For more information about our child theme support, please consult here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
The Speed Booster is an optional plugin and it works only with the tested plugins. If you use other plugins it will be automatically disabled and I suggest to check this first in System Status. However there is a workaround to make it work also with other plugins, you can read more here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/speed-booster-not-compatible-with-vaultpress/
Unfortunately, the time doesn’t allow us tot provide any custom and/or optimization services. We provide support only for the theme related issues based on Envato support policy – https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy I suggest to get someone to help you if you want to optimize your site.

Hi,

To debug this I recommend to disable all your plugins except Visual Composer(or at least only what it is necessarily) as this may be also caused by a plugin that you use. Also we did not received any similar reports.
Also you could check this on a clean wordpress install on a test site, using only the theme and the plugins provided and see if you still have issues. And check the System Status parameters – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/

Thanks!

Hi,

The theme has some server requirements and php.ini recommended values – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also I suggest(like @Niresh above) to follow the pagespeed guide and optimize your site – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/

Thanks!

Hi Chris,

I did as you suggested, used the wp-optimize plugin with the transients option ticked, I also resaved the permalinks, still no luck.

I noticed in the Theme Status tab the WP Memory Limit is 40MB/request instead of the recommended 64MB do you think that might have an effect on the load time of the backend?

Thanks

EDIT: I just followed this guide – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and changed the limit, it’s now 64MB and it’s made no difference…

Hello jncroyle,

I have inspected your website and I saw that your image has 640*288 px and you have selected full width -> 904*407 px, right? This is the problem? So, please ensure that you have fully loaded this image to your media library and then, you should try to increase the system status according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ because the PHP memory can be exhausted and that’s why you do not get the right size for your images. Also, your website seems to work as properly in tablet and mobile mode…
If is not what you mean, please provide more details, useful screenshots with your issues so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.

Thanks for the message!

Hello mark,

Please try to increase your system status according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also, if you are using some untested plugins, please try to disable all of them and install only the plugins that come bundled with theme packet and rule out any conflicting plugins.

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Hi,

First please check the System Status section like Chris suggested above – http://screencast.com/t/4vBOkUvvXiW and increase those parameters(if it is necessarily) at least to the recommended values – https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Also please try to disable your plugins except Visual Composer and check how it goes. Most probably you have installed a plugin recently which cause these issues. Try to use less plugins.
Check also the pagespeed guide and optimize your site – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/
To improve your server response time you can try to reduce the number of queries (fewer plugins, fewer blocks on page, reduce the elements which use ajax requests/pagination like mega menus/load more/infinite load). To improve the loading speed look the MySQL query cache: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/query-cache.html we also use it on our demo.

Thanks!

Hello votranhtuhi,

I guess that your problem with Visual Composer regarding on unavailability of text editor button is not affected by system status. I suppose that rather is a WordPress issue related. Notice that the theme have only the .htaccess and this file should have to respect the default structure of it, as you can see in our documentation here -> http://screencast.com/t/e38Irdz8ZJd This is the standard structure of this file.
Regarding on Suhosin, please keep in mind that this is just a server module and you should try reading all documentation of your host because this setting is related to your server. Also, please notice that you can get more online information about this, here -> https://suhosin.org/stories/index.html -> https://suhosin.org/stories/install.html
Also, if the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link of this topic so we can easily identify you.

Hello hkubilayonal,

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of the theme and also, the latest version of Visual Composer which comes bundled with the packet and which is Visual Composer 4.12.1. Also, try to check your system status to be higher increased according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Try to increase the PHP memory because this can be exhausted. The theme installations should have to be done via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard. Check the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!

Check system status in the theme panel to make sure you have enough resources allocated to WP.

Consider using less queries on post pages.

[ Version 7.5 ]
– new: author block – this block shows the author picture, socials and description. All in a nice and customizable design.
– new: image box block – this block is not just a simple image, it can be used to create banners, show featured categories with custom images or just to show some images. It’s auto adjusting and fully customizable.0
– fix: overlapping of Visual Composer and Newspaper tooltips while editing a page after the first install
– improvement: various core code refactoring and optimizations.
– improvement: better theme documentation and better help text in panel
– improvement: added used on for thumbnails in theme panel
– improvement: file path and names are now visible on each module, smart list, template etc on hover
– improvement: breadcrumbs markup, added BreadcrumbList schema
– improvement: in the System status panel, the theme now shows the license key used on the current install and we also have a button to remove the license from the install.
– fix: our blocks sometimes had issues auto adjusting the column count when placed in a inner row that is in a row
– fix: wrong recommended columns in Visual Composer, new users found it difficult to find out on what column layouts our blocks work best
– fix: drag and drop metabox flicker in wp-admin while editing a page
– improvement: system status now checks for mbstring and DOMDocument extension. We use DOMDocument for the new inline ad system.

Was there an update or not on December 2nd?

a) disable all plugins except VC
b) install theme and plugins via FTP
c) clear caching if used
d) clear transients with wp-optimize
e) resave permalinks
f) make sure you have at least 256M allocated to WP in your wp-config.php file and php.ini on hosting, for busy site can be higher depending on your hosting plan; 96M minimum needed for VC *default is 40M // you can check this on the system status panel in theme settings
g) note you need to then actually setup your site using a custom home page; then select that ‘page’ as the homepage in WP settings > set static page
h) you will need to regenerate thumbs to fit pages
i) you need to go through the theme panel settings and set defaults for page/category templates, post templates

** note any custom CPTs, plugins, shortcodes from former theme likely don’t work in the new theme as ‘shortcodes’ are styles included with theme not WordPress so don’t carry over, etc.

If site not working while you learn how it works, setup dev folder and import site, then test there prior to deploy.

If you can’t get anything to work; roll your site back to former theme/plugins, and resurrect your dbase from the last backup.

All common sense stuff. Good luck!

Hello,

I don’t think there is a bug in the theme but rather a plugin conflict or a config issue.
Please increase your system status parameters as follows: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
Then test again. If the issue is still there please disable all plugins except visual composer, clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it. Please also check any custom code you might have added to the theme panel or the theme files. If you use a child theme, please switch to the main theme to make sure it does not affect the proper functionality of the theme.

Thank you!
