Hello,

after updating to Newspaper 8.7 I can’t access Settings/Google Tag Manager in WP backend. It shows only this message:

Fatal error: Access to undeclared static property: tdc_config::$group_params in /mnt/data/accounts/…/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/includes/tdc_map.php on line 1494

Is there anything I can do with it? Thanks

Hi,

The theme will try to update the plugin automatically, but seems sometimes it fails. Try to use FTP to install the composer. Remove the previous plugin folder from the uploads folder (if present) and paste the new one from the latest theme package (unzip it first). A guide for manually installing a plugin here
http://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/step-by-step-guide-to-install-a-wordpress-plugin-for-beginners/

All the plugins are provided in the plugins folder located in the theme package

Please update to the latest version as there was an update to version 8.7.1 that fixed the issues regarding visual composer as well as other urgent fixes.

Thank you!

The website is not loading at all – https://www.screencast.com/t/B9A5retNiRj9
Please reinstall the theme properly – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Reinstall the version you were using or download the latest theme version. If you install the latest theme version update the theme plugins as well.

Check the theme requirements and system status recommended values

I don’t understand what the problem you are referring to is about. We did not encounter any issues with the latest WordPress update (4.9.4) and the latest version of the theme.

There was also no negative user feedback in the matter. So if you could mention details about this problem we will try to help you. From your message concerning category update I don’t understand what the issue is.

Hi,

WPBakery Page Builder plugin did not receive any updates, the latest version is 5.4.5 which is provided in the theme package. You can keep using this for your products.

Woocommerce provides shortcodes, these can be used in the tagDiv composer if you decide to use the tagDiv composer in the future
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/
These shortcodes can be placed in text elements using the tagDiv composer

Hi,

We have a site that is running a very old version of Newspaper (3.9.1) and would like to update it to 8.6. The site breaks if we try to migrate directly, but we’re wondering if there is a different migration path (for example, are there old intermediate versions we can use to do the migration)?

Thanks!

Got a theme update notice again today, updated theme after clearing cache along with standard process of backup/cleanup etc. As precaution, deleted and reinstalled Tagdiv plugins as was advised during the last update when we encountered issues after theme update.

Post today’s update, noticed a main block of content vanished from the home page. One of the settings “Random Post Today” in Block 3 of “Sort Order” filter was malfunctioning after the update (showing “no post” message in the row) while it worked just fine before today’s update, changed it to a different setting and it worked fine. Tested this multiple times to confirmed the issue.

For Tagdiv, please take a note, test this bug and release fix. Others with a similar config on their sites can take a note and switch to other settings until a stable fix is released.

Hello,

I want to use a few google fonts that I find on their website but i can’t find them in the theme’s dropdown. Is there a way you or I can update the included Google fonts? I’m looking at Spectral and Spectral SC in particular. thank you

Hi, I just received a notice to update the topic. Currently I have the 8.7 I must say that the update 8.7 has been a nightmare. I blocked my access to my administrator blank page, and the last thing I deconfigured my landing pages very large images. This error is solved by reading in the forum, deactivating the tagDiv Composer. But I fail the tagDiv Social Counter out pure codes. I do not know whether to update or wait for the results if it does not have failures. regards

Thansk for your answer Bogdan but it does not help me a lot. I’d like to have an address or to know exactly where I have to check in order to know if you updated some files.
Don’t you have any public list of the changes you do in the files ?
Should I go to the Envato Market every day, download the theme and check the update log, or is there an easier way ?
Thanks in advance

Hey @rashburn

Sadly, I’ve gotten very generic responses from support via email and they keep blaming the buyers of this plugin. Hard to believe that after an update and so many customers have the same issue that the company would say it’s the paying customers fault.

They have done two updates since February 14, 2018 but they are not listed in the Changelog and I can’t get anyone to say what those changes actually were. Very frustrating for those of us that have been paying for support for over 4 years now and when we need it, it’s proving to be worthless.

Thank You for a quick reply from https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/tagdiv-stopped-loading/#post-218172.

I installed the multi-purpose plugin as well as uninstalled the 2.0 TDC and reinstalled it with no change. I am very disappointed in this as I can not update my main home page. TDC is working on other pages that were built with it.

I see that this issue is quite common, I am hoping that I do not have to re-create my entire site to move forward.

I looked that the system status with this result: https://randyashburn.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2018-02-18-at-5.35.32-PM.png

I have made the requested adjustments in the php.ini file: https://randyashburn.com/wp-content/uploads/Screen-Shot-2018-02-18-at-5.37.03-PM.png

I am doubtful that this is why our TDC’s have stopped loading, although it is worth the time to investigate.

This has been an issue for almost 60 days now. Please let me know how you feel this can be truly resolved…

I have not been able to save a lot of changes in Newspaper as well. There have been random things over the last months that I did not think to document. Even this morning I am trying to create a new blog and I used a previous draft that even though I am saving the new changes, it is not consistently saving them on the site.

I am hoping not to get a generic answer here and if there is anything I can do to answer any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I realize that you are just now hearing of my issues, although NEWSPAPER has been great until a a couple of updates ago and now I am unfortunately losing market share and momentum.

Thank You Again,
Randy

Hi! Thank you for your reply.

I have checked, and my home url and site url are both https. I have also tried disabling all plugins, cleared all caching, deleting the existing theme and reinstalling it via the ftp method. I have then tried reinstalling the td-composer plugin. And the results are the same as before.

I’m now convinced that the problem lies with the buggy td-composer update, as many others have reported similar issues. Can we expect the issues to fixed anytime soon?

Can you add a toggle option to turn this on and off in the next update?

as we have 33 writers around the world (literally) having them undo their PC protection seems to only be asking for problems for the website. wouldn’t it be best to have an update to deal with this issue since this latest update to Newspaper has sparked the problem in the first place?

I’m a little frustrated as a very long time user and buyer for your support service that with this update, I keep hearing that the problem seems to lie with your customers when the 8.7 update has caused the problem. Seems like a horrible way to do customer service.

Never had an issue with the newspaper theme. I updated this morning to the new 8.7.1 version, and now i get this message on the homepage:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_detect_encoding() in /home/clovisroundup/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_css_res_compiler.php on line 54

HELP!

You all have done two updates (as denoted in the last update section on the Newspaper) but they are not listed in the Change Log).

The latest update is marked for February 20, 2018 and I was wondering if you can let us know what the latest two updates included. I appreciate you all working on this too as it’s the first problematic update I’ve encountered since using your Newspaper them for several years now. It’s just after having our site being knocked out for 12 hours (and we have 33 writers working full-time for us) we a little nervous about going through the process again. Many other users are feeling the same way so you can understand why we’re not so ready to just try the update all over again.

Thank you.

Hello,

I just updated to 8.7 but unfortunately it broke my homepage design. I was already using TD Composer before since 8.0, working fine, but it seems after the update the plugin was uninstalled and fails to reinstall now.
In the plugin page, when I try to install it I get this message “this plugin doesn’t have valid headers”, and “plugin installation failed”.
I could really use some help ! Thank you

Olivier
