Hi,
The new path top that file is – wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/includes/shortcodes/td_block_mega_menu.php but this will work only for a standard header, if is a cloud header the path is a different one wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/shortcodes/header/tdb_header_mega_menu.php unfortunately this file can not be set in a child theme, it will be need to be edited after each theme update or it will be need to make a plugin with a similar shortcode in tagDiv Composer.
Thank you!
Hi, can you let me know what the issue is and how to resolve it? images and header are no longer visible in brave browser, it is when I am in editing mode.

Hi,
Almost 5 years on and I need to re-open this post 🙂
Now that the Newspaper theme has a way of showing the modified date I do not need the code any more to show the modified date. I removed it from the custom CSS, however, I cannot find it anywhere in the site. I tried going through the CPANEL file manager but still nothing. When I inspect it in Chrome it shows this:
<p class="last-updated">Last updated on March 1st, 2024 at 10:56 am</p> from this page: https://searchgo.co/internet-speeds/
it doesn’t look very nice as it’s under the menu on the home page. I would appreciate any advice to remove this.
Thank you
Hi Newspapper Team
I would like to exclude third level sub-categories from mega menu.
Eg :
Cat 1 (mega menu)
– Sub cat 1: show
– Sub cat 2: show
— Sub cat 2.a: hide
— Sub cat 2.b: hide
— etc.
– Sub cat 3: show
– etc.
I’ve read two threads mentioning this possibility by placing and modifying a copy of the td_block_mega_menu.php file in the child theme (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/exclude-sub-categoy-on-megamenu/) (https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/is-it-possible-to-exclude-third-level-sub-categories-from-mega-menu/).
But they are from 2015 and 2018, and in 2024, I can’t find any td_block_mega_menu.php file in Newspapper > Includes > Shortcodes (no shortcodes folder exist).
Thank you in advance for your help,
Best,
Kevin
Hello,
I recommend updating the theme to the latest version, 12.6.4, and checking after.
Please make a full backup to all files and database => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAJXrSI-dDA before the update. After you update the theme, you need to update the theme plugins too.
In the worst cases, the settings in the theme panel may be lost (there have been isolated cases), in these cases, after the theme plugins that were previously used are activated, you will have to use a backup for the theme panel -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/
Thank you!
Hey,
Since this happened on a live website, I can’t change the theme to check functionality. I haven’t made any changes to the server, or altered any PHP files. I’ve deliberately held off on updating plugins, so the issue shouldn’t lie there.
I’ve tried deactivating plugins to rule them out, but without success. There are updates available for TD and Opt-In Builder, but that shouldn’t cause this issue, right?
Hi, I localized the problem. I have a child theme with a folder named “parts” and inside all the header-style files. When I delete this folder the search button works, but I can’t customize the header. I don’t find this “parts” folder in the original theme folder, I suposed that in an update it was changed, I don’t know.
Hello @eman!
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. TagDiv Composer is used to edit the page.Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. There, you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and designs for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.
A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.
From my point of view, if you don’t use the Mobile Theme plugin, then there is no reason or benefit to AMP. Unfortunately, AMP is not working with the cloud templates because the AMP’s layout is not fully customized.
The AMP version works best with default templates and not cloud templates. That’s why we integrated it with the Mobile theme plugin.
The feedback from our clients about AMP was negative and it is not used anymore, that’s why we didn’t add more customization options.
Thank you!
Hello,
Have you recently made any changes to the server or updated any plugins or PHP versions? If the issue persists even after switching to a default theme, please let me know.
Thank you!
I have now restored it
but the screenshot would be the homepage background.
sometimes it happens that the site breaks and you can no longer see anything except the background.
Is it a problem related to updates?
Hi,
I’ve already reverted the updates of this and other plugins and the problem continues, and curiously I don’t have this problem on the sites I use another theme, but it could be a facebook problem.
I don’t know if it’s happening because a update but suddenly the search button isn’t working in oue page. This is the website: https://news.bit2me.com/. I need some help to fixed. Maybe is a problem with js, but I can’t localize it.
Thanks
sometimes when I make changes or updates the site disappears and only the background is visible, how can I solve it?
@Anamaria thank you for your answer.
But all my articles can’t load the image in facebook. (not whatsapp).
Also before 1 month all my articles could load normally the image.
The only thing i change is update.
Thank you for you time.
Hi,
sing our theme, you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ The option that you need to use.
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc, so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY.
So, the mobile responsive is what you see when that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
The Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin cannot.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page, you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
Also, please check this topic https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/amp-pages-not-working-well-with-this-theme/
If the cache plugin does not have mobile support, then the mobile theme version can be delivered instead on the desktop and vice versa.
The solution would be to use the recommended WP Super Cache plugin instead and activate these settings (especially the mobile device support): https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Thank you!
Which one could I use in this case, since it is a functionality that I had and now I don’t have due to the update
i am trying to update ads codes in theme panel option, but ads are not saving. please fix this issue.
Hello, I have recently updated the theme of my website to version 12.6.4, before updating to this version when I printed the main cover of the website, you could see the content, after the update only the header is visible.

If you need to use mobile version 1 or 2, then you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin and AMP.
When I try to share an article, I can see that it takes the featured image of your article.
It seems that you have two different single templates for your posts. Assign only one template for both articles. When you access the article, please check which template is assigned, and you can see that on the top bar. For example: https://app.screencast.com/yGnnnMFcWqacY

Hi. Thanks for your answer. Obvsiouly Yutube is 16:9 which does not render properly on the page. We have now resized and updated a 4:5 feature image for Carnival video and still looks blurry on the phone, it looks better on the desktop. It is not sharp on the phone. What is the exact image ratio I should be using?

Amazing tip @cscott
Thank you sooooo much 🙂
I was so nervous from this issue and I tried everything, update plugins, wp, newspapper, deactivate all plugins, nothing worked.
Your fix in .htaccess file works perfectly.
Now the button “edit in TD composer” open editing mode -> there is no protocol error anymore 🙂
Thanks.
Hello,
Please update the theme to version 12.6.4 and make sure that you are using php v8.1 or v8.2 Check if the problem persist. If the problem persists make another test using only tagDiv plugins.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
