Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the Visual Composer 4.12.1 which come bundled with thew latest version of the theme. If you are not using that version, please try to update the plugin, clear all your caches and test it again and check the results.

Your theme will need updating too and your plugins as well.
Please use this guide to update your theme to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then use the guide you mentioned to update visual composer. You will also need to update the social counter plugin. You can use the same method by removing it from the plugins section and deleting files and then installing the plugin again from the main theme archive you download from envato.

Please notice that our theme has been changed quite a lot lately and if you want to migrate your actual theme to the latest version you must mind that you will lose all of your customizations, sorry! Basically, you will have to re-customized all your website on the new theme. First of all, I suggest you doing a full backup to your database and then, you can create another fresh install, on the local server where you can begin to create your own new website with the latest version of the theme and try to adjust every element from the old theme to the newest. Please make sure you have the latest theme version and the latest version of visual composer installed.

I canÂŽt upload the theme.
In your documentation, it is written that:
“C. Update the theme via WordPress
âą Step 1 â Deactivate the current âNewspaperâ theme from the Appearance > Themes section by simply activating a different theme. Once you activate a different theme, delete the Newspaper theme. Donât worry, your content will not be lost.
âą Step 2 â Get the âNewspaper.zipâ file from your new Themeforest download (Installable WordPress file only). If you downloaded the âAll Files & Documentationâ from Themeforest, then you need to unzip the archive file you received, the Newspaper.zip will be inside it.
âą Step 3 â Go to Appearance > Themes, choose Add New Theme, Upload the âNewspaper.zipâ and click on the âInstall Nowâ button.
âą Step 4 â After your upload is finished choose Activate the theme.
âą Step 5 â Update the plugins. The theme required and recommended plugins are included in the theme package inside the ../Newspaper-tf/plugins folder.”
As a result, I made the “Step 1”, and it appeared the following message:
“Deletion failed: The requested theme does not exist.”
So, I did “Step 2”.
After I made “Step 3”, but it appeared the following message:
“Installing Theme from uploaded file: themeforest-5489609-newspaper-wordpress-theme.zip
Unpacking the packageâŠ
Installing the themeâŠ
Destination folder already exists. /home/videosu/public_html/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/
Theme install failed.”
Question: how can I solve this problem?

I’m using the newspaper theme for the site mjr.jour.umt.edu. This website was built by others and I’m merely taking it over and I have pretty basic WP experience.
I’ve updated the Newspaper theme, WordPress, and all of my plugins, however, the visual composer does not work properly. When viewing a page with content on it or attempting to create a new page, the actual interactive window where you insert elements does not load. Here is a screenshot of the interface of a page loaded with content.
My visual composer plugin is at version 4.7.4. Do I need to update this further to get it working again? I was following the protocol here, but I’m not sure where to get the visual composer update folder.
Any suggestions as to how to get visual composer working? Thanks!

Yes, there’s a new version 4.12.1,
I updated to the version 4.12 and I haven’t purchase the license of Visual Composer, so I can’t make the new update automatic.
I only purchase the theme Newsmag and Visual composer comes integrated with the theme. The version of the theme is 3.1.

I have followed the instructions here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/author-card/ and installed the Wp User Avatar Plugin. I’ve updated a user’s profile photo and cleared the cache however I am not seeing the author’s image on any posts or the author’s page. I’ve tried disabling other plugins, clearing cache, but still no avatar. Any ideas/suggestions?

You may find my optimization thread useful, and I’ll update this again soon.
Note the ONLY way to fully remove above the fold render blocking on mobile is to move style.css to footer, and then use a “Critical CSS Generator” to load ALL “above the fold” CSS content in the header file inline. Period.
Second, Google also has bee in their bonnet about “tap targets” — so stuff like tag or category links need padding between them for “tapping without touching other item” concept. Really annoying with stuff like footer text. But easily fixed with minor CSS tweaks.

Seems that you’re using an older version of Social Counter plugin. Please make sure that you also update Social Counter at V 4.1, clear all caches then test the site again.

have a problem updating to version. I cannot delete the older version of Newspaper from the Dashboard, it displays a message “Cannot be deleted. Theme doesnot exist”

Please make sure that you update the theme according with our documentation, also try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer and Mobile theme, clear all caches, purge cdn files if yourâre using then test the site again.

Sorry for not answering since now, we were migrating our page from a new server and that took some time.
I did manage to update the visual composer plugin to V 4.12.
But still can make the social counter work, I want it to work only with Twitter.
I’ve tried as a widget and with the visual composer and it gives the same error; just a strange shape with no color or link. http://ampaturocanmates.org in “segueix-nos”….any idea, why it doesn’t work?
Our twitter ID, as is requested in social counter is ampatcm.
I have install the weather widget, works fine!

At least one of your theme header templates does not support Schema markup of the webpage head section â this is especially important for Pinterest. The <head> element in your header templates should include a function, action, or filter for its attributes. NGFB can update your header templates automatically to change the default <head> element to:

Click here to update header templates automatically or update the templates yourself manually.

Unfortunately, I do not exactly understand what you mean, sorry! If you have made any modifications to the code and you do not know them, please try to make a new update for your theme, revert all the theme settings to the default state, clear all your caches and check the results. Social Counter updates the infos at every 3 hours and the numbers displayed there may be a bit inexact. Also if you’re using a plugin for cache the update time may be bigger. Try to clear all caches then test the site again.
