Visual Composer says there is an update. Will we be getting an update file to make it current to 4.12?
First of all let me start by saying that we have been TagDiv / Newspaper users for 2 years now and after all this time in our opinion TagDiv continues to deliver the best quality theme we could find (although we were a bit lucky at the time to pick NP, not that much research behind it, lucky us :)).

Now to the plead for help:
– We’ve just updated from version 4.x to 7.1.1 (yes, it was an odissey)
– After launch most of the stuff is working great and we are very happy with our new website (hey TagDiv, time to refresh our screenshot in your showcase gallery) but we have a couple of problems still that maybe the community and/or TagDiv can comment on:
1 – Mobile translations? – Our site is written mainly in portuguese so we always used the translation mode in the theme panel with no problems. We did it again. Everything looks fine except for… the mobile theme. “Latest Articles”, “About Us” and “Follow us” are translated in the web version but persist in english in the mobile version. Is there a place were we can/should edit this information? Tks
2 – “Invisible” News Ticker – After updating to 7.1.1 and updating Visual Composer and Social Counter accordingly everything looked fine in staging. Yet, after going live, the top news ticker disappeared and is nowere to be found. We’ve removed it and reinserted it several times with no success. We can see it in the homepage builder mode but it stopped showing. The curious part is that we have the staging version running exacly at the same update level (except content) in our servers and it looks fine. Hints?
There are some other minor (so to speak) problems like category exclusion filtering in various homepage components messing up the category atribuition/relations but those are probably either mistakes on our side or bugs to be attended in the future. These two problems are the only main issues between us and a more than great website (and so much faster) for our objectives.

I received a note in the plugin section saying that the visual composer has to be updated.
But in the documentation, it says that we don’t need to pay attention to this note.
So my question is, do I have to download the visual composer from Envato account and then upload it to my website? Or just ignore it?

You mean the yellow paragraph tab at the top left corner of a row, where there are 11 display options, 12 if you include the custom option.
Where does it say in your documentation that only 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3 will work? Prior to this upgrade the images displayed OK so something changed it.
Update.
After using the “custom” option and setting it to 1/3 + 2/3 for the lower block 12 we have got the images to display correctly again. https://www.iisnet-networks.com/

Please ensure that you have using the latest version of the theme and also, you have updated your required plugins to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) Also, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins.

I had to do some changes via Visual Composer (I had to add an ad paid by a sponsor on the home page) so I’ve updated the Visual Composer. I’ve managed to add it but the newer version crushed the theme v6. When I tried to downgrade the Visual Composer to version 4.6.2 it kept crushing the website, so I had to update the theme to version 7.
Now I’m stuck with the version the doesn’t look properly.

Hello, i have updated My Newsmag to 3.0 and now everything looks great in Desktop version… (except cant get facebook followers) but my problem is with MOBILE version where MENU has a problem, seems MENU items seems seperated and looks like HTML… Can you Pls check and help me to solve it…

This was possible earlier with CSS something like (replacing span2 with whatever was applicable):

However, after the update this does not work anymore. I can not seem to remove it.

You don’t need to buy the theme again. As long as you have a valid license for our theme you have unlimited access to updates. You just have to login in your themeforest account and download last theme’s version available in downloads section. We released V 3.0 for Newsmag yesterday so you can update to that version following our documentation. Make sure you do a clean update. By this I mean that you have to delete current theme’s install and upload new themes files via WordPress or vis ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-install-via-ftp/ Also deactivate all others plugins except Visual Composer and test the site again.
Also please address us in English as we don’t speak Spanish and it’s hard to understand your messages.

Please ensure that you have fully updated your theme to the latest version and also, all the required plugins has been updated to the latest version of them (Visual Composer 4.11.2 and Social Counter 4.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method for theme updating. Please make sure that this type of problem does not come from your untested plugins and to avoid this case, please try to disable all the plugins, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme. Please check the parameters from your system status to be higher increased in order to achieve the best result. Tried the regenerate plugin but it didn’t fix the problem. The theme update Newsmag.zip was uploaded as usual through wordpress. Deactivating plugins didn’t work either.

There is nothing more to be purchased as the theme provides visual composer free bundled with the theme. However, if you use the mobile theme plugin, there will be 2 editors in your page edit screen. The one at the top is the mobile editor that does not use visual composer. If you scroll down you will see the visual composer editor present and working.

Please ensure that you have fully installed the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.1.1) only via FTP because this is the surest method in this regard -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ Also, if you have any untested plugins on your install, please try to disable all of them, leave just Visual Composer to active, clear all your caches, purge CDN file is you are using the CDN system and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please notice that our theme has very complex one and if it possible that untested plugins to interact with it and might cause a lot of unknown issues, like this. Please avoid this case through ruling out of these plugins and check the results.
Also, if your problem is still there after doing this advice, please try to make a new clean install from scratch with the latest version of it and see how it goes the theme with the default settings.

after updating to the newest version i have some terrible vertical divider lines within my homepage layout. The homepage is built with the visual composer.

Hi there,
I have an issue after updating to Newsmag 3.0. In some posts I want to hide the grey divider line that shows between columns normally.
I used to have specific CSS in place for those pages with border-left: 0; which used to do the trick but not anymore.
Please note that I only want to remove these border-lines / divider / seperation lines between the columnns. It is built up out of six 1/6 columns and thus creates 5 border lines that I want to remove.
Just want to share.
I now know the culprit or the source of the missing Images sizes which is the EWWW Image Optimizer Plug-in. I hope both ends could be fixed on the next updates.
Some images now show different sizes and are no longer linked up after the update to version 3.

Tried clearing cache, reload images etc.
