Thanks for this Andrei, but where do I get this patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder ?

I went on my Theme Forest account, I downloaded the theme as explained here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/, I opened it, but I couldn’t find andy patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder.

Also I’ve noticed that you’re using V 2.3.5 of the theme and the feature images aren’t displayed on the page. Try to update the theme at the current version available on themeforest, V 2.3.6 and also update Visual Composer plugin at V 4.11.2 which is included in theme’s path. unfortunately I have to ask again .. i use this method but but since the last update is my error.log fully with this messages:

PHP Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, class ‘td_video_support’ does not have a method ‘on_save_post_get_video_thumb’ in /xxx/wp-includes/plugin.php

and constantly tells me wp that the connection is broken and it takes some time until you can do something on the page again.

any idear what i can do to fix this problem?

You can find the changed file in patch_2.3.5_2.3.6 folder. You can use that patch to update the theme without loosing your current customizations. Just replace the old files with the ones from patch and the update will be made.
We didn’t changed any of loop/single files in last theme update. With regard at child theme there are no additional changes made so your code should work fine. There would be a chance to appear some issues with sidebar position on page. If this happens go to appearance > widgets and drag the widget from footer 3 to footer 1: http://screencast.com/t/ZZQZ6eU9
Visual Composer plugin can be updated without any risks as the actual page structure will be kept.

Also before making any change make sure you do a full backup of your current wp-install and to the database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

When you use WordFence it is the new firewall function(https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2016/04/wordfence-announces-firewall-threat-defense-feed/).

You have to set the “Firewall Status” to “Learning Mode” and save it. After that you have to update the theme panel. After that you can set the “Firewall Status” again to “Enabled and Protecting”. So the functions of the theme panel are whitelisted.

Also deactivate all plugins except Viual; Composer, clear all caches, purge cdn files if you’re using then test again.

you might consider adding a new section in the right menu under “Documentation” (below that).

New section:

I’ve seen something like this on other support forums; it really saves the same 20 posts from customers who don’t know how to “scroll back” in forum to find answers to the same topic, so it gets posted over and over and over. Makes it hard for others to keep on “actual” issues that might impact us.

Just suggestion — would save you a ton of support time, to simply have a single locked “answer” for any breaking issue each time it happens vs 50-100 Q/A posts for identical issue.

So I did what you said, updated both the theme and Visual Composer. I’ve cleared my caches (caching plugin, my personal computer, and my CDNs) and I’m still not able to save changes. When I click “Save Settings” that animated square just stays there. I’ve already gone through and checked to see if it was a plugin that’s interfering, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Im not really sure what else to do.

All page content and settings are stored in database and won’t be lost when the plugin is updated. However as a security measure do a full backup to your current wp-install and the database: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

I am facing the same issue’s as many others I’m afraid. I cannot edit any published “pages” with visual composer. pages that are in a draft state or new pages seem to function ok. But anything published the VC ball just keeps spinning.

I updated the theme through automatic update using the Envato theme updater plugin. I have ruled out 3rd party plugins, disabling them all except VC. I’ve disabled, deleted and reinstalled the plugin as well, changed my home page to draft and back to published, no joy. Not sure where to go from here

Hello Thank you for getting back. I do love the theme, and understand that creating such a robust theme that you are bound to run into issues here and there. I am however not under any illusion that there’s a magic button to make rankings go up, but I had hoped that some important seo elements would be implemented into the home page such as the H1/H2 title tags etc so that I may concentrate on content. I will patiently wait for the update as you suggested to @Mayapur Voice. Thank you for your support
