Hello rea-secret,
Please try to set your smart lists according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/ (for smart lists we recommend to use single template style 5 for posts for avoiding the duplicate images).
Another possibility, in this case, would be ->
Duplicate images on smart lists usually are the result of using the Photon feature of the Jetpack. If you use this feature please disable it as it is known to cause issues with our theme.
If the problem is still there, please try to disable all plugins except visual composer and clear your cache as other plugins could also conflict with the smart lists. Also, if you are using “strange” characters (!@#$%^&*/”- etc) in ALT tag, the image will be twice. I have added this issue to our list of fixes and in next major updates will solve this problem. Until we will fix this issue, please try to remove these kinds of symbols in ATL tag for better results.
Also, and last but not least, please use post template 5 when you are using the smart list for better results. For more information about smart list, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/smart-lists/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hello rockingfamily,
Please make sure that it’s added properly and also check if you updated the theme according to our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/ clear all caches and test again.
Thanks.
Could you, in an update, change the layout of the invoice so that the “from” and “to” shipping addresses are located where the windows of a standard window 9×11.5 envelope are located? That would make the invoice much more useful.
Hello Christianvideostv,
In order to achieve best results, please try to disable all the active plugins, leave just Visual Composer, clear all cache and install only the plugins that come bundled with our theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. After you have done this, please consult the guide below and then check your social counter and see how it works.
1) Please make sure you have the latest theme version: 6.7. If not, you need to follow this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
2) Having the latest version of the theme is not enough if you do not update the social counter as well. You need to remove the current version you use: http://screencast.com/t/4jvRwNzK and then install the version of the plugin that comes with the 6.7 theme: http://screencast.com/t/9AKKURjTjX
You can recognize if you have the correct version of the plugin when you see the new app key settings: http://screencast.com/t/CIXxklBanNl If you do not have these settings in your social counter it means you do not have the correct version.
3)You need to follow this guide to get the requirements from facebook:
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-social-counter-tutorial-2/
Please keep in mind that the social counter is not a live count. It will update once every few hours.
Hope this helps!

– new: Revolution Slider plugin updated to the latest version 5.2.2
– fix: Theme Panel fixed the structure for categories that have multiple branches(subcategories with their own subcategories)
– fix: Visual Composer 4.10 – Video Player resize problem for aspect ratio 4:3 and 2.35:1
– fix: removed some old Visual Composer detection code from td_wp_booster_functions.php, it was causing an error in certain cases
– fix: improved the Visual Composer detection code inside the default page template file, it was triggered when the shortcodes didn’t have unique names(ex. Woocommerce shortcodes)
– improvement: Authors box widget/block – added user roles option, now you can set it to display only the desired role(s) – https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities
– other: to keep the theme size under 8MB we removed the Revolution Slider install from the Newspaper->Plugins section. You have to install it manually – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-install-revolution-slider-v5/
– other: removed unused code from “page-pagebuilder-title.php” template file
Not theme related — theme does not manage your hosting of WordPress settings, but
a) you need to change the site URL in WP admin > settings > general > site URL ; then resave permalinks
b) you can add in wp-config.php
c) you may need to search/replace old domain name in the php dbase if you have things in the post meta like image placements using old URL — changing URl doesn’t update that stuff
d) you will need to clear all your caching, obviously (in both site/CDN if used, and browser)
e) you may need to clear ‘transients’ using something like wp-optimize
f) you need to resave your permalinks again
Good luck!
Hi,
Yes, that is exactly what I had in mind. It would make sense to work identically both on posts and pages. I look forward to the eventual update you might release.
Thanks,
Peter
Hi
I am not sure I understand your issue however I assume that you want this image to open in a modal window when a visitor clicks on it. Unfortunately the modal image feature wasn’t designed to work on pages as works on posts, sorry. We may extend theme’s functionality in future updates but I can’t promise anything at the moment.
Thanks!
Hi Greg,
Visual composer was not tested on posts with our theme especially on custom post types. We cannot provide a solution as we do not recommend it for posts. Visual composer was adapted to work with our theme but every version needs to be tested as the code is custom and features need to be adjusted. That is why the plugin is bundled with our theme and that is why we are the ones that provide the update as it needs testing and sometimes adjusting. We do not recommend using any other version of the plugin except the one that comes bundled with the theme as it may not work properly.
Thank you!
Hi,
1) The method Alin posted works as expected. The code adds a condition to check for a certain category. He used ‘vogue’ but you can change it to your own category name. You can ad multiple conditions if you know a bit of PHP: http://php.net/manual/en/control-structures.if.php
I’m not sure how saving is not possible. You need a text editor (we recommend notepad ++) and access to ftp. Then simply edit the file, add the code and hit the save button. (Please note that if you use a child theme, it will not work as none of the files inside wp-booster will work from the child theme)
The names of the post templates are specified here:
If you cannot get it to work, please note that custom work falls beyond what support can offer you so you might want to consider hiring some help as we cannot offer customization services. We can only point you in the right direction.
2) Regarding the AccessPress Social Counter plugin, we have no clue of it’s functionality as it’s not tested so we cannot provide a solution for it.
3)We do not recommend upgrading to pro as all of the features visual composer has to offer were tested with our theme. If the pro version provides even more features, there is a chance they will not work as visual composer was adapted to work with our theme. That is why we provide it bundled with the theme and we provide the updates ourselves.
Thank you!
Hi
This top grid is not present in Newsmag theme at the moment, sorry. We may add it in future updates but I can’t promise anything for the moment.
Thanks!
Hello Sebastian,
If you want to make it permanently these settings, you should use the child theme. You have to use a bit of CSS code and place in Custom CSS area from the child theme.
The code is ->
h1 {
background-color:red!important;
color:white;
}
The result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/STIZyZypE6Wg
Please notice that if you make these changes on the main theme, on each update, the code will be overwritten and you will lose the settings. For more information about child theme, please consult our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/
Hope this helps!
Thank you for the message!
Hi Tagdiv,
I simply love this theme! Like everyone else, I’ve followed the tutorial and your other suggestions #themeUpdated #PluginsUpdated #CacheFlushed #Etc and I’m still getting a 0 count on my Facebook page. can’t you people fix it ?
Well, either way, not theme related 🙂
Theme doesn’t affect, manage, update or alter your htacess file for WordPress.
Likely WP Rocket (you might read their docs) does its own rewrite rules and removes the ones that WordPress normally has in your htacess file.

Hi everybody,
i just wanted to ask, if it is possible to customize the existing post-templates in way, that is safe in case of updates, etc.
In my case, I just want the headline (h1) to be underlaid with an orange box with the headline having white font-color.
Actually I just need a way to “overwrite” the existing css permanently, because I´ve managed it with developer-tools in my browser.
Thank you in advance for you answer!
Regards, Sebastian
Hi
Please make sure that you installed the child theme according with our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-child-theme-support/ clear all caches and test again.
Regarding the plugins installations only Visual Composer it’s a required plugin, others are optional. If you still can’t manage to install them via WordPress try the ftp method. For more details about this check this topic: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/just-installed-last-newsmag-version-but-cant-update-visual-composer/ I offered there a solution for Visual Composer but the steps are the same for each plugin included in theme’s path.
Thanks!
Hi
Other way to update the theme it’s by using theme’s patch. However this solution works only from one theme version to another. You can address us via email including a link to this thread and we can provide the patch for each theme update.
Thanks!
Hi,
we have no reports of this yet, but your error seems to point to visual composer clearly. Sometimes plugin updates get released like this (SEO yoast is the best example of this. They release several dot revisions until an update is stable) We will update visual composer again in the next theme version though.
Thank you!
Hi,
I’ve modified the code and everything is perfect. Thank you so much. It would be good that in the next update you you include these changes…
Thank Bodgan for your answer, but i activeted the child theme before the last theme update. In meantime, i written at the author of plugin that i use for to create the child theme. He answer me that Visual composer is loading after the parent stylesheet. He has added a temporary workaround and it is working for now, and he will try to put a permanent fix in the functions file. For the moment it works perfectly. I thinked that this information is useful also for you, because is a plugin rather used
Correct! td-api-plugin v1.1 worked. I’m using the latest newsmag version 2.3.4 and what’s bundled is old version of the plugin which is v1.0.. hope you bundle the latest plugin there in the next updates to avoid this issue.
Thanks a lot!
Hello @thanik30 and @ChroniclesTV
I have checked your website and saw that your Facebook counter does not work as properly. Also, I noticed that you do not have the latest update of Visual Composer. -> http://screencast.com/t/4PEo5Sf0z Please try to update this plugin (latest version is 4.11) and see how it work after these changes.
For more information about Visual Composer updating, please check our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
Also, you can follow the below guide for an accurate setting ->>

Also, if your problem is still there after these advices, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so I will further inspect your setup page. Also, please provide the link of this topic so we can know who you are and what the issue is.
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thank you for the message!
Hi
We certainly plan to extend the theme flexibility and add new features in the future updates. I’ve added your suggestion on our list and when the time comes our developers will consider it. This may take some time because we have a long implementation list and we take them one by one.
Regarding the borders for ads please provide a link where I can inspect this and maybe I can help.
With regard at the response time: we always try to answer at all topics within 24 hours, however this is not valid for weekends. We din’t work on weekend so there is a delay with the response time.
Thanks for your understanding.
