Update: The featured images of the articles are not showing on Facebook, Google+ and Twitter.

Ok…I’ve done exactly the process I’m supposed to from 4.x to 6.0…and have also auto updated the site now to 6.6.

But the site is still having serious issues. The css is not loading properly I think and the Visual Composer doesn’t load any of your templates.

I really need this fixed up so I can present to the client soon.

Let me know what you need and can supply access to the site so you can see what I mean.

Just to add…this is now a clean install and was prepared to rebuild the site using any new updates the import script had carried out. So can’t understand why it won’t even display your demo content properly.

i have also updated visual composer

So sometimes the backhand editor wont appear still? Also like you said the css is being blocked. This all started to happen after I updated the theme. Can you please help me fix this

You should update all plugins too, including visual composer. Then see if it all works.

For me, this is working fine after update.
I deleted the plugin after last theme update and re-installed the plug.
Cache may stop it from appearing for a few minutes, but it is all fine now.

I updated using FTP. “patch_6.5_6.6” I’ve added the file and overwrite it. Is this not enough?

This usually happens because of lazy load animation which’s script conflicts with some of the installed plugins. Try to deactivate all plugins except Visual Composer, clear all caches and test again. Also try by deactivating the lazy load animation.
I’ve noticed that you’re using an old version of Visual Composer plugin: http://screencast.com/t/j5gdTOiNR7R6 I am not sure if this affect the site but we always recommend to update the plugins included in theme’s path, /plugins folder, when you update the theme. Try to update the Visual Composer at V 4.8.1: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/ then test again.
Make sure you also do a backup of your current theme/wp install and database also: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups just in case something goes wrong in the update process you can always go back to the previous working version and try again.

also i deactivated all plugins and i noticed during the updates, the images were loading/showing on my site, when the update completed at some point the images stopped loading. i don’t know what kind of bug is causing this but i need your help.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. For the moment we have some issues with Social Counter plugin and theme’s developers works to fix them in shortest time possible. As soon as we will have a solution our documentation will be updated with the new instructions regarding plugin’s usage and also we will release an update which will contain the new version of Social Counter plugin.

Oh question before I forget, can we somehow make these changes using a Child Theme, so that each time NewsPaper updates we wouldn’t have to go back in and paste the lines of code? Or must we always do it in the main file folder?
