Hello, I’ve just purchased. I’m asking if it is possible to create a double side bar by using the Visual Composer Widget Sidebar, by anyone here on Newspaper forum. I’m an Online Adsense, Advertsing & Publishing Broker. I work alongside with Open X, Revcontent, Svorn, Taboola etc. I will be injecting a big investment into our Advertising Campaigns for Quarter 4 – Oct to January.
I need to be able to create an Ad Layout with Double Side Bar
1. 160×600 Banner on the Left as a Left Side Bar
2. 728×90 Banner
3. 300×600 Banner on the Main Right Side Bar.
I’m currently using a Theme that cannot support any modifications for Responsive Layouts from Desktop to Mobile because the 728×90 Banner doesn’t fit onto Mobile.
This is a screen shot of the last Theme I used named X Theme http://prntscr.com/8g3x8x.
However, there latest VC update had a conflict with their Theme. Which put our UX for mobile out of whack! All coding is no longer relevant until they sorted out the bug. I know Visual Composer has 5/6 + 1/6 but I need the 1/6 on the Left Side Bar not the right.
I reversed the 5/6+1/6 Columns around http://prntscr.com/8gw1l0 to give me Left Side Bar widget that for 160×600. Center Column 728×90. Main Right Side Bar 300×600.
Before I add CSS code. Is it possible to adjust the margins to full-width without Mobile Responsive being compromised?
As the right side bar is most effect for Banners of 300×600 + 300×250. I seriously need a Theme that has multiple template layouts but I need one that has a double sidebar to maximise Adsense/Ad Networking/Online Advertising and Publishing.
Emil G, http://prntscr.com/8gvt4m did say to hire a Programmer from Envato but I have had no replies, yet. I’m in desperate mode as our first campaign for Advertising is the 25th of September. I have tried Fiverr and Freelance with replies. But, I really don’t trust the work ethic from those two platforms. I can’t afford a huge budget to have a Template created.

Main Right Side Bar…? I’ve been trying to figure how to bring the right side bar down flush with the Left Side Bar and the Center Side Bar Columns. I’ve tired Top: -20px and Margin-Top: -20px as an example but it doesn’t seem to be moving.
Any guidance or help will be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to get a child theme, but i want it to have the current layout and colors of the the parent theme but updates to the parent theme won’t affect it.
Any idea how to do this? My child theme will have function.php and the other child theme components.

1st problem:
I got my menu to now be 30px height but when I scroll the sticky menu is 48px height. I even updated the menu_affix_height to 30 in tagdiv_theme.min.js and tagdiv_theme.js ?? http://www.aeriographer.com

When I look at it on mobile the top ad banner is beind the menu bar now instead of below it.

If you follow the tutorial and make each step as it shows, everything will work fine.
Regarding the update, i think you are talking about a theme update, in that case it depends. If it is a major update (to a different version) not a dot revision, then yes…you will have to update the child theme as well.

now i tried to upload the theme downloaded from themeforest but doesn’t work again, always the same mistake.
Would it be possible to add in a future update the advert size 970x250px and 300x1050px

I have checked your site and found it working properly except of this wp booster error present on category pages: http://screencast.com/t/1UhaO8Abn – this happens because the setting you currently use has been changed in the latest update. It’s enough to go to theme panel > categories and set the category template: http://screencast.com/t/JmI2zZx8xoV make sure you clear the cache, purge cdn file if you’re using and test again.
Please provide more details about other issues you experience after latest theme update and also make sure you empty all chase, purge cdn files if your using any and make sure your also test this without plugins, just theme’s plugins.
Please also provide more details about the ‘Malware’ warning from your website after theme update so we can look into it.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience. The first “Server Error: blog/wp-content/themes/Newsmag/” happens when you try to access the theme’s index.php file directly, usually it displays a Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_header() and it shouldn’t be picked up by google’s crawler.
You can find more info about this in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/fatal-error-3/ and add a redirect rule for it.

the smart list 1 uses a slider script called iOS slider. All the content is already on the page but it’s hidden and it shows up only when the slider is moved. The slider also updates the permalink of the post when it switches to another slider. Google should handle this well but I can have a look at your site if you give me an url.

I’ve test this on my side and seams that the anchor links don’t work on tablets and mobile devices. I’ve added this on our issue tracker and will try to fix it in the next theme’s updates.

If you have custom modification to the theme’s files you will need to re-add them as when you update the theme these files will be overwritten, but the the styling options you’ve set in the WordPress Theme Customize or settings should not be affected.

The theme doesn’t have an option to display ads depending by category, but you can try a plugin to achieve that functionality. Also I’ve added your suggestion on our feature requests list and we will consider it if decide to ad further improvements for the ad system.

I have a number of structural errors showing up in Webmaster tools regarding my blog. I have updated WordPress as needed so it is not a matter of missing an update. I have had these issues for as long as the blog has been up. I haven’t done much blogging due to the errors, however I would really like to start using the template and blogging regularly. I like the design and did pay a good price for it. I had previously asked about this issue and did not receive any advise to lead to a resolution. We use the less files in theme’s development process and at the end contents of these files it’s compiled in style.css We don’t intent to release a theme update that will use less files instead of style.css

The theme doesn’t have an option to filter the articles displayed in more articles box according to tag’s novelty, you will need custom modification in theme’s core files to achieve that functionality: http://screencast.com/t/R3t8wZtmtjM Those changes involves custom work and unfortunately we cannot offer it for the moment as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. The background ad is a great inclusion in this theme. We however require multiple different background ads dependant on category. This would allow an advertiser to do a “site takeover” for “sport” for instance, but then another advertiser to do a “site takeover” for “fashion”.
Would you consider this for a future update or even custom work?

@meh6927 Please check this guide how to update to the version 6 – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ make sure that you make a full backup before and do this without any plugins active. After you updated the theme please run the script to rename shortcodes, import old settings. All your custom sidebars must be imported as well, but unfortunately you will have to add again the widgets to them as they become inactive or doesn’t exist anymore.
Please note that the Newspaper 6 should be regarded as a new theme, so you need to update also the child theme as the old customizations(files, css) will not work in this version and you need to adjust and re-add them.
