Hello @swaghermagazine!
Deactivate the Mobile Theme plugin and see the results.
We have 3 options for mobile versions that you can use:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website looks similar to the desktop version. Edit the page with TagDiv Composer. Click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB; there you can see your mobile version and edit or adjust the elements to look better.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance-optimized theme included in the main Newspaper theme that only loads on mobile devices. It comes with its own templates and design for pages, posts, categories, etc., so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. Please see https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/ for more information.
A full explanation is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
You can choose to use whichever one is more affordable and useful for you.
Thank you!

Hi,
That is a very unusual thing to happen, as none of the theme plugins should deactivate by themselves, in any situation except when manually deactivating them. Or unless there is code in the plugin that is there specially to deactivate a plugin in specific situations, the plugin should not deactivate itself. This is not a known issue and it is not intended by us to happen. The composer is an essential plugin and has to be active at all times.
I see the composer is deactivated now on the website. It will indeed be noticeable if the composer is not active, as pages will not display correctly.
I also see that the theme version used on the website is more than 4 years old, while WordPress has been updated to the latest version. The theme is compatible with WordPress 6 or later 5.8/5.9 versions only starting from recent updates https://tagdiv.com/newsmag/
A very old theme version like the one you are using may function incorrectly. I can’t say exactly that this is why the issue happens, but updating the theme to the latest version should be a priority. Once that is done, if the issue still happens, I will begin an investigation. I can help with the update as well if needed.
Let me know.
Thank you!
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest! We love the TagDiv Newsmag Theme for our Seattle24x7.com community journal — and more!
So here’s a puzzlement for you…and for us!
For the past several weeks/months, TagDiv Composer has deactivated without notice.
To put it more accurately, our “notice” is that the formatting of the home page (mostly)
completely disintegrates. We were surprised to discover that the “broken” home page was because tagDiv Composer had turned off (and were greatly relieved that the disarray could be remedied by simply turning Composer back on!)
Unfortunately this deactivation is not a one-off. It has happened repeatedly, and intermittently. Just
this morning, in fact.
My obvious question is whether there is a known issue that causes TagDiv Composer to deactivate?
Will it deactivate on an automatic WordPress update? Is there a known conflict with a particular Plugin or plugin update?
Could the deactivation be externally triggered by some event? Can Composer be set to reactivate automatically in the event it is tripped off?
Thanks for your Support!
Larry@Seattle24x7
It turns out it was because my version was older and it didn’t work well with the new WordPress version. Just updating the Newspaper theme using this link – https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ – fixed the issues.
Thanks for the help.
On my site menwithkids.com the header doesn’t display and you can see the codes. It looks like it’s a theme error, I can see this from the logs:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_header() in /nas/content/live/mwkprod/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/index.php:6\nStack trace:\n#0 {main}\n thrown in /nas/content/live/mwkprod/wp-content/themes/Newspaper/index.php on line 6
No changes were made from yesterday when everything was working fine, no update to the theme, to the plugins or to the WP version, the header just disappeared overnight. Please help.
Greetings,
http://swagheronline.com
I realized when we updated our theme that this page did not convert. I fixed it on the website for desktop viewing, but how do I make it visible for mobile viewing? Here is a screenshot but it’s the Visibility services page. https://snipboard.io/YXj5mG.jpg
Hello @mojopatrakar!
Please use a single cloud post template and not a standard one. We recommend to use cloud/PRO templates in order to have the possibility to edit them with the TagDiv Composer which contains a lot of functions and features, please check our tutorial here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Documentation here:
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/design-post-pages-using-cloud-library-templates/
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloud-library-category-templates/
Make sure your header and footer template are set as Global in the Cloud Templates. In this way, they will appear on every page.
You have to create only a new page Home and set it like this: https://prnt.sc/b5bxSIJQum5V in the WordPress Settings.
We have cloud templates for articles, category, tag, etc. which you can assign directly to any page.
For the option 1 and 2, you need to uninstall the Mobile Theme plugin.
You can easily edit the cloud header and footer by editing the homepage with the Tagdiv Composer(scroll down in the editor to see the footer section).
Thank you!

Hello @smckenna!
You can use a license key for one single product. We’ve introduced the Manage License System, which can be seen in the 11.4.3 version of the theme in Newspaper -> My license. You can assign or unassign a domain from there. One can be used for staging and one for your live website.
First of all, please make sure you have a backup done, deactivate all the non-tagdiv plugins or the cache plugins you use, and then you can update the theme and the TagDiv plugins also.
I would gladly recommend you to make a backup and update plugins and the theme via file transfer to the latest update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Thank you!

For the option 1 and 2, you need to deactivate the Mobile Theme plugin.
If you use the Mobile Theme plugin, then there are some settings in order to customize it in the theme panel -> mobile theme. Note that you can not customize this plugin’s layout with the TagDiv Composer.
Hope that helps you!

Bettina,
We have inherited a Newspaper site that was running VC. We need to transition pages that were formerly in VC to tagDiv and repeatedly find support articles referencing this post (https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/). Unfortunately that link results in a 404 error. Can you post an updated/accurate URL or point us in the direction of a similar resource? Thank you!

Hi Bettina, thanks for your answer, I don’t see the category of “Common page elements shortcodes” Also, if I click in the cloud icon nothing happens. I have the latest updates of the tagdiv composer and the theme, do you know what its happening?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Mauri
Hi Bettina and Team,
As we have checked with external DB expert and he confirmed below:
——-
I have gone through your issue, and it seems that your site is running WordPress. The query itself seems to be originated from the theme and although we would be able to alter the theme’s core codes, it would make the theme be blocked from future updates. Additionally, since the nature of the site is a “News Portal”, the site would naturally consume a lot of resources due to running the queries in parallel.
——————-
It is clearly theme issue. Kindly help us to get this solved.
We are getting lots of saturation issues due to your theme issues, we are advised to do following, plese check

I would suggest implementing any remote caching tools, such as nitropack.io or asking the hosting provider to implement Redis Caching to the Database, so the load on the server would reduce.
Please help us to fix the issue.

Hello @Maurafarah!
Make sure you use the latest update of the theme and the TagDiv Composer. You can use the posts loop element or flex block element: https://forum.tagdiv.com/posts-loop/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/flex-block-settings-guide/
Thank you!
Hello @zelda!
A more elegant method is to override the child theme. You need to take all the code of the flex block 2 from 4386 to 6268 lines, make the changes, and change the word “add” to “update”: https://prnt.sc/sbzdlfUovced
Thank you!
