Hi, you know what is the solution (at least for me)? I deactivated “tagDiv Mobile Theme” and it works like a charm. All the plugins and everything is updated in my system but please pay attention when you say “make sure you have the latest version of the PHP” because the latest version is the 8. and nothing works with it.
Kindest regards and thanks for the prompt reply.
Why when I update does it add this record to the .htaccess:
<IfModule mime_module>
AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php56___lsphp .php .php5 .phtml
</IfModule>
Hello!
This issue has been discussed already here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/after-the-update-of-theme-to-10-3-9-1-site-slow-down-with-heavy-load-on-server/
Thank you!
Hello @ajayrijh,
Please let me know what version theme you have because this issue was solved in the theme update version 11 https://i.imgur.com/6Ob6spi.png
Thank you!
Hello!
If you need a mobile version different than desktop version, then I recommend to use mobile pages. Build and assign them to your desktop version: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
Thank you!
Hello!
Let me explain you which options of mobile versions are:
1. Responsive version: A responsive version of your website is looking similar like on desktop, edit the page with TagDiv Composer, click on the mobile viewport: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB ; there you can see your mobile version and you can edit the elements there.
2. Mobile pages: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
3. Mobile theme plugin: The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout. For more details, please take a look here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
A full explanation you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY
So, if you need first option (responsive version), then please make sure you have the Mobile theme plugin uninstalled and you do not build any mobile pages.
If you created the mobile pages with TagDiv Composer, then when you install Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten (disappear) by the plugin layout.
If you use Mobile theme plugin, then you can not edit the pages with TagDiv Composer.
You have only some settings for this layout, which you can find in Theme panel -> Mobile Theme. Please note that if a page is made by Composer, than the content won’t be displayed on Mobile theme version. You should create the content with the Mobile Editor.
Thank you!
Hello,
I have noted your suggestion on our list of suggestions and I hope this will be implemented in the coming theme updates.
Thank you!
Hi,
I have updated to the latest version from Version 10.3.2
After the update, when I activate the mobile theme it’s showing “There has been a critical error on this website.”
The desktop theme is working fine, if I deactivate the mobile theme then it’s working fine as well.
My website is news based website, which has huge traffic. I must need the mobile theme to make it more speed and flexible.
Please help.
PS: My website is using WordPress Multisite
Thanks
Hi

What’s wrong and what can i do.

Hi Bettina,
We are talking about two very different problems here. One is the theme appearing to be unregistered. The second is (was) that the theme completely broke the output on the front page. The former is still there – the theme appears to be unregistered still. The latter we addressed like explained previously. Allow me to point out that some theme settings were completely erased in the process of switching between child -> parent -> child themes; settings like the header, the logo, the default post template, the custom ads 1, 2, 3, 4, and more.
To be completely transparent with you, I am very hesitant in touching the update buttons again any time soon. This is not the first time I am experiencing unexpected output caused by updating Newspaper. If you search on previous tickets of mine (you could search history for my email associated with this account) you could verify this. Living with Newspaper has been anything but easy and trouble-free.
I attempted to re-activate the theme, but the wheel kept spinning, and spinning, and spinning. It was at least 5 minutes of spinning until I realized it was not going anywhere, and I had to cancel.
This is an alive installation, and every time something like this happens it never goes unnoticed. We honestly hope there will never be a “next time” in the months to come. The activation code is available, and we would rather resolve this without having to go through a similar experience another time.
Thanks.
Hello!
It’s strange because if you buy the license once, then you should have it for life how you mentioned. While you have the code, then it could be reactivated again.
If the problem is solved now and for the next update you will face the same issue, please contact us and we will take a look to see from where this problem appears.
Thank you for understanding!
Hello,
I saw you have an older version of the theme, https://i.imgur.com/VZHUIFb.png and is possible to cause this issue, you may not able to change the logo.
Also, please check the console and see if you don’t have an error when you try to save the changes.
Please let me know what WordPress version do you have.
Many changes have been made over the years, and the latest version of the theme is 11.3.1.
Also, if you want to update the theme I recommend that you update the theme on a staging website and make sure that you have activated the tagDiv Standard pack plugin to keep the look of the website.
Before the update, please make a full backup to all files and the database if something goes wrong. => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Here you can find information about the changes that have occurred in each update over time https://tagdiv.com/newspaper/
Also, on our channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOT1RiNysIPCTPSnVZskwtQ, you can find more videos that can help you and documentation https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-documentation/ and you can ask us here on the forum if you have any questions.
Thank you!
Hello!
I’m glad that you could solve the issue.
I saw you have the theme version 10.4, and there was a problem with unassigning the mobile page, but in the latest updates, it was fixed.
Have a nice weekend!
Hi Bettina,
Actually, it is no big problem. If we don’t publish the new issue page, then we can see all the published posts on it and deal with any issues before publishing.
If we filter the home page on issue tags too, then the new content doesn’t appear unless and until we update the block filters, after the issue page has been put to bed.
So its all good, as they say.
Hi, after the last update I can’t find the function to avoid duplicates in page edits.
Usually there was a function at the bottom of the page, the page edit.
can you give me support?
Thanks
Today I attempted to update the theme from 11.2 to 11.3.1.
Apart from the fact that once again I was required to manually activate the tagdiv plugins on which the theme is dependent, which broke my site (the infamous tagdiv short-codes all over the place phenomenon), I was requested to manually update the plugins. Following the appropriate guide for that, I realized that the plugins were already up to date (more reasons to scratch my head!). Then I navigated to the Newspaper section of the WP installation, only to be notified that after 18 months of regular use, my theme appears to be UNREGISTERED.
I resolved the issue with the short-codes by manually deactivating all tagdiv-related components, re-activating them, activating the parent theme, re-activating the child theme, and flushing the cache. But I am left wondering how the heck has my theme become UNREGISTERED!? How can something like this be possible? Isn’t the license active for life anymore, or what?
I am literally and honestly at the point where one thinks that one would be better off leaving the thing alone – if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, right?. Because every time one touches the thing, the thing crumbles! Jeez!
Hi,
Thanks for getting back to us.
When we embed a youtube video it is on top of a couple of lines of text, making them not visible. For example, on this story, it is occurring: https://happilynews.com/military-dad-surprises-cheerleader-daughter-by-photobombing-group-photo/
It is difficult to see because the text is behind the video.
But the passage of text should read as follows:
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>The moment she saw her dad she jumped up in shock and her dad ran towards her.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:embed {“url”:”https://youtu.be/WGK0H-KpL3k”,”type”:”video”,”providerNameSlug”:”youtube”,”responsive”:true,”className”:”wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio”} –>
<figure class=”wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio”><div class=”wp-block-embed__wrapper”>
</div></figure>
<!– /wp:embed –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>They both began to hug and wouldn’t let go of each other.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>Karlie said: “I was so relieved with joy that he was home and safe.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>“With everything going on with the military in other foreign places and some kids not being able to reunite with their parents, I had been so worried about my dad not making it home.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>“After crying to YouTube videos of people in the military’s kids being surprised by their parents returning home, I never thought that I would end up being one of those kids.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>“Thank you to everyone who participated and surprised me.”</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>Dad, Kyle said: “I was nervous and excited to see her as the first half of the game took forever waiting to see her.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
<!– wp:paragraph –>
<p>“Then I felt relieved and overwhelmed when I saw her reaction.</p>
<!– /wp:paragraph –>
However, as you can see the video embed is covering the next six lines that should be straight after the video embed. So it seems to be a padding issue with the WordPress youtube embed widget.
This issue appeared to begin straight after we updated the theme to 11.3.1.
Hello,
Thank you so much for your feedback and kind words!
Also, I add your suggestion ( to make this plugin to be compatible with our theme ) to our list of suggestions and we hope that our developers will make this plugin to be compatible in future updates.
Have a nice day!

Hello!
Please make sure you have the latest version of the PHP, WordPress, theme, plugins(11.3.1) and all the requirements are done as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
If that problem is still there, then please execute these steps:
1. disable TagDiv Composer
2. uninstall(delete) TagDiv Composer
3. clear cache (if cache plugin exists)
4. install TagDiv Composer
5. activate TagDiv Composer
6. clear cache (if cache plugin exists)
Sometimes, the issue can be from a plugin conflict or a cache issue, that’s why, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
Hello!
Any change you make in the files after update will be overwritten and you have to make the changes again. Better save the code somewhere and then apply it again after update.
Thank you!
