My view is people worry too much about AMP – it’s only worth using for fast news sites with lots of content, to appear in search results – most people visiting won’t visit again for more news

The demo is a wide theme, but when we install it on our site it shows up with less width. I’ve spent the last week trying to make my theme look like the demo. It does not seem like it’s possible to do without coding.
I have created several cloud templates. You must create a new one for each category page which is time consuming. It seems there should be a way to create one new category page, use that as the default, and have the theme figure out how to assign the posts labelled with that category to show up on the page. I don’t see anyway to do that which is why I’m having to create a new category page for each of my categories.
That’s time consuming, but then with regards to tags it seems you cannot even do this. I see no way to assign a different page to each tag. So you’re either stuck with not using the cloud library or using it and having all your tag pages pull posts from the same tag. This makes no sense. Again, there should be a way for the filter to figure out the right posts to pull. Once you set the filter on a cloud tag page, then it pulls posts from only that filter. So now you’re stuck with a page with the right customizations, but it won’t change per tag. So you have all the same posts showing up on each tag page!
If this is all true and there’s no way to do this, then we cannot recreate the demo look.
If true, the theme should not even be allowed to be listed as a themeforest theme. I just want to be sure I’m not missing something otherwise I’ll start posting complaints and ask for a refund. The $50 I paid is nothing compared to how much time I’ve spent wasted on this theme. Please let me know if it is not possible to make the theme look like the demo, including wider tag pages that update per tag without paying for customizations to the code.

The AMP feature of your theme is inactive.
In this case, your theme may not conflict with any AMP plug-in!
Is it correct?
Please update the AMP compatibility of your theme so that it does not conflict with other plug-ins as in 9.6.0!

Ok, but I have added some custom CSS, background image, text, and other adjustments to the theme will those be lost during the update?

Please make sure you have the tagdiv composer plugin active. If you updated recently please note the tagdiv composer needs to be updated as well. Access the theme plugin section and press the update button and then activate the plugin.

I’m not sure what’s wrong with my site, however my homepage, when you click on an article, will take you to said article, and then it shows you the entire homepage below the article. (I don’t want that).

Answered my own question.
It looks like when I was attempting to update my own footer, i incorrectly set my footer as the homepage and it had ugly consequences. I didn’t intend to do that.
Setting it back to -No Page- effectively removed my HomePage from acting as a footer to every webpage.

The newsletter is provide in our theme package singe Newspaper v8.7 will not work on previews version, also from the plugins that we provide you need to use only the plugins that came in theme package, not a later or prev version of them.
In order to use the newsletter plugin you’ll need to make a theme update, but first please make sure that you make a full backup to your website.

First of all, ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme NP 9.6.1. Here, it was made some improvements on AMP. That new update allows you to use the AMP with or without the Mobile theme. Regarding customization, notice that the Mobile Theme has a default layout and do not have any such an option that allows you to make some changes from the Theme panel, sorry! Guys! You’ve made a preety mess with the AMP. I wrote it in few topics. It took as a few days to understood, that now ist 3 headers; one for desktop, one for “Mobile + AMP” and one responsive. In our opinion third choice pure “AMP” doesn’t work at all. Our site now is set on “AMP + mobile” We had a lot of trouble with google analytics. Generally 9.6.1 is the worst update since I’ve remember.

I think that you are referring to this notice ; this notice apper eaven if you edit/update the page from backed, but this is just a notice, is not an error; you can edit the page/template, you do not need to create a new one.

The settings from theme panel are general settings, are applying for almost all elements ( but not for those from tagDiv Cloud Library ), also with tagDiv Composer you can set individual settings fro each element from your page/template ( those will override the settings from theme panel for those elements on which are apply ).

If you are using the mobile theme the menu will be sticky.

Update to 9.6.1. Activate the mobile theme plugin. Go to Theme Panel > Mobile Theme. Where it says “Use Mobile Theme For” select ‘AMP’ and save settings.

I agree with Gooma2! You have virtually ruined everything I’ve work hard on by doing these silly updates and releases.
AMP update was just silly and I’m sure has annoyed an awful lot of your customers. Just look at this forum for example, it’s riddled with AMP queries!
My google analytics have all been lost too meaning that I can’t show the stats to my paying clients!
All you have done is offer a refund so that I can use a different theme. A refund would not cover the huge amount of work that would be needed to build a new site from scratch!
What are you guys going to do about these issues? Newspaper used to be great, now we’re all getting annoyed! I don’t want to leave!

I just enabled it again, it was disabled because of another update that happened while I was gone. Now it’s enabled and the gray display is there again. I saw your screenshot and I do have the Demo-header-menu chosen for the main and footer. Are you saying I should work with the mobile menu’s own or I can choose my menu? (demo-header, which I prefer)
Hi, in the theme panel settings, I disabled ajax view count but I am still seeing that td_ajax_update_views function is still firing (and causing slow down on my site). Would appreciate any feedback. Also, does disabling this feature work across all post types including custom post types?
Okay, was able to update. Yes, the thumbnail scraping issue persists in 9.6.1. Takes a few saves before it grabs the video thumbnail.
