Hey I’m new!
Just bought Newspaper! Super excited to start using it. This is my second website I have built using WordPress.
So I’m familiar but all still very new. Plus its been about a year since I’ve even really updated my first personal
site or learned more about WordPress.
Newspaper is looking like a great reintroduction.
The first problem I have run into is tagdiv Page Composer won’t load is in the sample videos online.
I have no Page Composer blue button when page building. Just the code with a pretty basic backend page builder.
I got rid of all the stock plug ins at the beginning of my process. So maybe I messed up there.
Right now I have only a few plug ins installed. Tagdiv AMP, Cloud Library, Composer and Social Counter…oh and Contact Form 7…so I haven’t even begun to really dial it in.
Any guidance to get my Composer up and running for dynamic front end designing would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I am newbie here. So I am still learning.
I finally made up my mind and purchased Newspaper 9. And I am now trying to decide my hosting service. I would like to know if Tagdiv Newsaper 9 theme and all it’s demos work fine with wordpress.com? I read the related posts here on the forum and seems the responses could not make it crystal clear. One reply from the staff team even said the the earlier version (8.X) of the theme could only workw ith wordpress.org. And multiple people seems had problem to upload to wordpress.
I know wordpress.com allows third party theme to be uploaded if business plan is subscribed. And this si what I plan to do if I shoudl choose wordpress.com But anyone expereince any problem installing or running TD composer, TD library with wordpress.com? What are the problems? I am want to focus the discussion on Newspaper 9 and it’s updated resoruces, not the earlier verions.
If wordpress.com is not the best option to you, which hosting service would you recommend that would work perfectly with News 9 theme all the plug-ins and all the TD resoruces. What are some drawbacks you can think of with wordpress.com related to the NEwspaper 9 theme, TD composer, demos and related resources?

I’m struggling to get facebook social counter to work, all others work fine, but facebook requires app id and security key, i think i’ve got these correctly, but it is showing 0 likes. Is there an updated guide on how to do this, tutorial says only facebook ID is required

Hi, I have a website running on wordrpress 4.1.5, i upload the theme on my ftp, when i activate it on my backoffice a have this probleme,”Please update your [tagDiv social counter] Plugin!” nothing run and my website crash, what the solution ?
That has elements that’s not part of the composer but it used to work fine and now, after i updated to version 9 it’s not working. I can’t load the pagebuilder.

Unfortunately our theme do not have this option, and in order to obtain that you need some custom work, to make some changes in theme file, maybe to add some elements/call to action too on the left side of blank screen, also is need to detected if there it is blank screen or not.
Also please notice that those changes will be override after you’ll make a theme update.
So if you are decide to do that and you have the proper skills to do that please make a full backup to your website before you start make changes in theme files, if you do not have those skills please take in consideration to hire a developer to do that for you.

So you installed a demo and then you tried to activate the theme with the license key. That would have no effect on the state of the website or demo installed.
When a demo is installed this process will import the demo theme panel settings and custom design where needed (with content it will import demo posts, categories, menus etc).
Only if the demo is uninstalled, or a different one is installed will the demo data be lost. The theme panel settings, custom design etc will be removed in this case.
What exactly is the message you are receiving? A screenshot would be helpful. Also what exactly is preventing you from updating the theme, what error message? Let us know.
The theme can be updated in multiple ways, the most recommended is by FTP

Displaying ads inside blocks is not possible, ads in pages can only be displayed in ad box elements. You could place an ad box after the block, but not inside the actual block between the post.
Regarding the telegram icon, I could add this as a suggestion on our list and it will be considered for implementation in a future update.

This can be an auto-update, or some plugins conflict.
Also please make sure that the theme system status is configured as mentioned in the requirements guide. Please follow the guide carefully

A post I made to this forum a few days ago was dismissed as already “answered” —
It was NOT
WP 5.0.3 update is DIFFERENT from 5.0.2 in a critical way — Gutenberg Block editor is now DEFAULT
Going to ADD + Pages with this Update from WP NO LONGER DISPLAYS the
TD Composer Button above the Page Content window.
I just did a local host install on my Mac laptop after trying this on my Windows development machine to see if I got the same result locally as I reported a few days ago with my Online Newsmag install.
I did
Completely virgin database, php, 5.0.3 WP download, fresh install of Newsmag 4.7
The Gutenberg Block editor for Pages is the default and today I cannot even find a link in the Edit options to restore the Classic Editor for WP.
And again — the tagDiv Composer Blue button does not display in the Gutenberg editor.
I had to go to this link Disable Gutenberg Editor to see TD Composer button
Once I installed the plugin and activated it to restore the WP Classic Editor to my WP 5.0.3 installation THEN the TD Composer button re-appeared and Worked as normal.

The lazy load was implemented in this way because some users have bigger or smaller device/monitors, and in this way the lazy load will apply well on all of them; unfortunately for the moment there are very few settings for lazy load

Yes, this could be a problem, the kind of ios version. Try to update it or change it to another newer device and check the results. Until now, we do not encounter any problems.

Normally there would be two places where the latest articles section settings can be accessed, in the backend of the page and in the composer directly

Due to an issue these settings seem to not appear in both those places as intended

You can make that change in theme file, but unfortunately this change will be need to be made again to the next update of theme.
In order to do that you need to go in wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/wp_booster/td_data_source.php

You can edit the popular7 , just replace in code the “604800” seconds for seven days with the “2592000” for 30 days.
In order to change the text from drop-down chooser you need to edit the wp-content/themes/Newspaper/includes/td_config.php

I have a few questions, i install the demo on my site first, and set up everything. then I went and got me the license copy, but my demo tells me I have an update will that wipe out my setup I already have on the demo. And also i cant even update because i keep getting an error message.
Also how long does it take for it to update when you edit the sidebar ads? I added custom ad 1 on the side and I can see it when I go to my homepage but when I check on my phone it has not updated and it has been a few hours. Thank you!

It’s as if you think your theme is so complicated to use that we will need to be able to contact support often. :*) Not a good sign :*)
Old argument – and I am likely one of the biggest naysayers on child themes, personally, as it’s an additional redirect of the main CSS; further, over time, when there are ‘major’ theme updates/upgrades, the child theme has to be updated as well (kind of like pesky WooCommerce templates) — which entirely defeats their purpose beyond style over-rides.
It’s a general ‘norm’ to have child themes as part of WordPress, but ideally better to consider simply adding another css file that over-rides main theme css, and perhaps load that vs modifying sub-templates as child theme.
This is *only* my opinion, based on using WP since 2004, so I’m a bit biased based on how we used to have to tweak for speed/performance. Less of an issue now with http/2 and PHP 7.2, etc. But used to be minor speed bump to do child load on top of main load.

have anyone figured out how to change filter “popular (all time)” to “popular (last month)” or “popular (last 90 days)”, so it will show only last 30 days or last 90 days instead of all time and will stay that way after next Newspaper update. You know, “all time” is kind of useless sorting option. 😉
We’re running into a weird problem with our home page. The block elements will display perfectly for a time, and then when we check back hours later, the only thing that displays is the header and menu. Selecting “edit page” and then “update” will cause the block elements to display and work again, but the home page keeps eventually reverting to being, essentially, blank. When I try to use TD Composer to edit the home page, I get this error message:
Error at rows: 2(models) : 1(dom). The model does not match the content
I have looked through the other forum messages and have seen the recommendation to edit the .htaccess file. My attempts to do that yesterday broke the site, and I had to revert to a backup to get things running again.
What can I do to keep the home page working?
