Glad it is fixed, that was a known issue reported by many users, we tried to fix it in the quickest time possible.

We add each new feature and fix in the update changelog on themeforest, also in the theme package update log, so the users know what has been changed

Go to Newspaper>Plugins section on your WordPress dashboard and update all the plugins you have installed for the theme.

Hi, site has always been fine but my pages have taken a turn for the worst after the update and wp updates. The home pages has basically turned to code. Am I missing a setting? Posts are fine but the footer is also affected.

Make sure you are using the latest version of the theme (9.2.2). Download the latest version of the theme from themeforest.net then go to the newspaper>plugins on your WordPress dashboard and update the mobile plugin from there.

As an update – it helps if I add the code to my subdomain .htaccess and not accidentally to my root domain. ‘

Confirmed – solved the issue here as well.

Hey support.

I followed the instructions and updated the theme to a newer version. But after doing that, i tried previewing everything, and my website was disorganized. All they settings and styles, were changed, and i was unable to see even the composer.

What can i do?

Hello,

It seems you are using an older version of the theme. you need to update the theme and plugins for the social counter to work properly.
Please use this guide to update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and then use this guide to update the plugins: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-how-to-update-a-plugin/

Thank you!

Epic, thanks for the input.

If disabling lazy loading solves the problem, perhaps someone from tagdiv can tell us why this happens? I got this problem when updated the theme to the most recent version and didn’t know what to do and had to revert to the backup earlier this day. Would appreciate if the issue can be solved without switching off some functions.

HI,

I have an issue that I can’t fix by myself… I moved a number of servers and shared hosts in 2018 ( 7… ) because of speed issues, or lack of support, etc…

One thing always caused a problem: – the theme settings in the post page (the main category, subtitle, author name, etc boxes ) not copied over when I moved the site to another host, and I had to do it manually – with lots of extra hours of works.

Even I bought the wp-all-import/export plugin to make a little more help, but that also struggling to place it back to place where it should appear.
ANd all because it is an uncommon meta box and some reason something not right with it. The copied content also has inside the DB but does not appear on the post edit page at all…

Is it possible to convert those meta pieces of information to a more common ACF ( advanced custom fields)? I mean to make a separate table in the DB for the meta info?

Or some other solution to make easier to export and import when it has to?

2.:

COuld you make the plugins update more automatised?

I update the theme via the “Envato Market” plugin. Its make a very comfy way. But plugins just a mess always to de-activate, delete, download the theme package from Envato account, unpack, upload via FTP or wp- add , activate…

Why is it so complicated?

Please make the plugin updates also available via the theme settings plugins page or the WordPress update page.

Thank you for your hard work with this great theme and plugins, hope to see the more awesome feature in 2019! 🙂

Hello,

Yes, I followed this and have used this previously. For the latest version, I followed “A. Update the theme via WordPress.”

Since the Newspaper.zip file must be renamed every time there is an update, how am I able to tell if I successfully updated?

Have you tried installing the “Envato WordPress plugin” from the link Epic provided above?
It is suppose to allow a one click install of the updates, using the Envato Token.
I’m new so I have not seen it in action yet, but I’m hoping it works as described in the documentation.

before last update i saw my site has doble title problem in search results.
im using yoast but nothing changed about it.

i changed header.php file as:
<title><?php wp_title(‘|’, true, ‘right’); ?></title> (old)
<title> <?php wp_title(”); ?> </title> (new)

do you think will it solve my problem? and why it seems like that?
is it about theme or another plugin?

Here are the recommended theme update methods https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/. The FTP (or manual) way is recommended to ensure there are no problems when updating. (I don’t work here).

Hello,

Initially when I installed Newspaper and a new version would come out, I could update via WordPress dashboard (like every other WordPress installation I have ever worked with), no problem. Several versions ago, I tried this and got an error message of “Update Failed.” That was all it said, every time. I migrated website hosts from JustHost to Siteground to work around this; still it persists. I’ve activated and deactivated plugins, no matter, nothing works.

Every time I update the theme to the latest version, cosmetic changes are always needed, and I end up spending 2-5 hours every single time. I hate this and am tired of doing this. But, I love your theme.

Can you please let me know how I can solve this issue? Is there a way to do the one click theme update that WordPress is so reknown for?

Please let me know of any questions.

Thank you, love the theme.

Paul

Hi guys,

I had quite a few custom sidebar text widgets created and after updating to the most recent version, all of the custom text widgets have vanished. This is a big problem and will take me a lot of time to fix — what happened and is there any way to restore those without manually recreating all of them?

Having same issue, followed instructions to update (max_input_vars, max_execution_time, etc.) and it was working fine. Stopped working recently. Now cannot save any edits in td composer.

Happy Holidays!

I updated to the latest version of the theme, I updated to WordPress 4.9.9 (no 5), and unfortunately I continue to encounter this problem, almost every day I find myself with tagDiv Composer turned off, which I have to manually reactivate.

I ask you a solution, a way to block this situation, the deactivation of the plugin. tagDiv Composer should not deactivate automatically!

Hi,

There is no option in WP-Admin to update. My license does not support updates ?

Thanks I was using 9.1 version I have updated it and now it’s fixed.

Thank you so much.

A small suggestion once there is an update it would be really helpful if you can add badges such as new or latest so we know what all are the new changes that we need to make or look into the latest updates.

Thank you

Hi,

What version of theme are you using? There have been some issues when using shortcodes in a previous theme version
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/shortcode-in-text-element-convertered-to-html/
The shortcodes were rendered, that could potentially be the cause of the problem in your case.
The latest theme update contains the fix for this issue, fix that was made in 9.2
https://www.screencast.com/t/Ll5oXhkY2qxx

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, that will be the proper way to do it. The full theme packages contain a plugins folder, there you will find the WPBakery page builder as well
https://forum.tagdiv.com/whats-included/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
The latest theme package contains the latest WPBakery version – 5.6.

Thanks

Hello,

Please do not use 2 versions of the theme inside the wordpress themes settings. Ypour code is still found if you activate the old version. Please activate the old version, and delete the new one.
Use this guide to properly update your theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
All custom code can be added in the theme panel custom code section.
If you want to make the header style 3 logo larger, we need a link to your site so we can remove the extra padding around the logo.

Thanks
