I know it’ll fix itself automatically after some time, 5, 10 minutes, half an hour, but that’s slowing me down. Other themes update much quicker and the changes are visible a second I initiate them. Anyways, I don’t have any other questions. Thank you for the support.
Leave that, retrograde stuff. I reinstalled and used some basic settings. It would be helpful to have a way to update picture here, not going somewhere else doing something as if it’s 2001.
In the last couple of days, we have noticed that using the Facebook share icon in the posts no longer works. Instead, we get a ‘reload’ button on the facebook page. At first, we thought it was a plugin, but turns out that your demo site does the same thing. If you go to:
and click the Facebook icon, you are directed to:
You must be logged in to Facebook before the blank page with reload button appears.
Sharer.php seems to be deprecated and no support according some posts on Facebook’s forums. Do you have any updates or new ways we can use to share posts to Facebook, or should we be looking at using a dedicated plugin for that?
Hi,
Please update the php version and let only the tagdiv plugins be activated, and check after if the issue with images persists.
Thank you!
I have successfully re-registred my license key and it says registered in green but I still get the following error when trying to update in the updates tab: An issue has been encountered while trying to validate your license key. Please help. Thank you!
Hello,
I am trying to edit Newsmag theme files through FTP and also WordPress > Appearance > Theme file Editor however changes are not reflecting in the front-end.
The main reason I want to update the theme files is that I want to integrate another plugin called s2Member – which allows me to bar blog posts for registered users – basically viewers have to register (for free) first before they can read the blog.
I’m specifically editing the file loop-single.php to add required php functions from s2Member plugin for it to work properly, however the changes seems to not reflect. I have already turned off/removed WP Cache but still no to avail.
Please advise, thank you.
Matt
Hi,
Please disable the mobile theme plugin and check after. Also, please check for a plugin coflict.
Using our theme, you can choose from 3 mobile versions
-> mobile responsive => https://www.screencast.com/t/oJ2ShOp47
-> mobile theme plugin => https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
-> mobile page => https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/ The option that you need to use.
Suppose you created the mobile pages with tagDiv Composer. In that case, when you install the Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin (the mobile theme comes with its templates for page, post, category, etc, so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout, the page content is made without builders in mobile editor => https://www.screencast.com/t/xbgZG8kH also, the options that are provided to edit the mobile theme version are limited (this keeps the things simple)).
This is a video about Responsive Newspaper Theme, AMP & Mobile Theme, Mobile Pages & Templates -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpGkOnJeNZY.
So, the mobile responsive is what you see when that you select the viewport on phone => https://www.screencast.com/t/matV17hH, so some settings may apply for each viewport(where is the border blue), and others are not(where the border is black).
The mobile page has the mobile templates from Cloud Library => https://www.screencast.com/t/YCcZ8rL8
The Mobile responsive version of the theme and the mobile page editor can be edit with tagDiv Composer, the mobile theme plugin cannot.
For example, you can have the mobile theme plugin activated and use the mobile page/mobile responsive version for the homepage/pages, but for the categories pages/404 page, you can’t use the mobile page/mobile responsive version if you have the mobile theme plugin activated.
So, if you want to design the pages with tagDiv Composer, you can use the mobile page or mobile responsive version.
Thank you!
Hi,
I recommend doing the update and changes on a staging website and fixing it there and after updating the live website and doing the changes.
Thank you!
Thanks for your prompt response.
As far as I can see, all the changes have been made to the child theme.
After inspection of the console, it looks like no css files have been loaded.
@DocDigit it is an old version, this version https://wpscan.com/vulnerability/993a95d2-6fce-48de-ae17-06ce2db829ef/
Since it is a production website, I would like – if possible – to first update to a safe version of tagdiv composer or at least patch this, while maintaining compatibility.

Hi,
If the version is that old, it is possible that the structure of the child theme also needs to be updated https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/. Additionally, it depends on what issues arise when you perform the update. If major changes have been made to the files in the child theme, then you will need to contact the custom work team who can help you with this, as it might be beyond our knowledge https://tagdiv.com/submit-a-request/
Thank you!
Hi,
This is just a notification that doesn’t disappear, but the update has been made. It will be resolved in the next update.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please let me know what version of the theme and WordPress you have.
Also, please make sure that all the plugins you use are compatible with the PHP version you update.
Thank you!
Hi bgits,
Here are the steps that you’ll need to do to update the theme:
1. Check your themeforest account and download from there the Newsmag theme package.
2. Make a full backup for the website and database.
3. Use a FTP/cPanel access to replace the current theme versiun with the one downloaded from your themeforest account (if you got the full page it will be need to unzip it and install only the theme inside it).
4. Connect on the website and go to Newspaper > plugins and install/update the theme plugins you used before the theme update.
Now in case that you no longer have access to the themeforest account what you can do is to contact the envato support team and ask to help you to re-cover the account or create a new account and buy the theme.
Thank you!

Can you help me discover where this javascript malware is inserted in my theme? I´m using the Cloud Templates: Living PRO, but I can´t find where this code comes from.

When I update to a php version higher than 7.4 all the pictures on my site disappear and a gray border goes around my site, making it mobile size on desktop. What can be done to fix this?
Hi,
I have chosen and updated it, but it still doesn’t work.
Please check: https://prnt.sc/uTmA-H0rrFeu
Thanks.
Hi,
For Newsmag you need to download the latest package from ThemeForest, and update the theme manually https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
Thank you!
i wrongly posted the question in newspaper theme. my website has newsmag theme. my theme has 4.7 version and there is no place where i can see updates flash or icon so that i can update the theme from my dashboard.
Hi,
I had approached you earlier as well regarding my issue. Since you could not offer support, I am approaching you once again with a new request. The concern is that my website theme (purchased from you) is not updating since our web admin is not available any more.
Our web admin only had the login details with tagdiv and themeforest with which only we can keep the theme updated every now and then.
Now, since he has left us and is not approachable, we are left with no option but to buy the theme again (for no fault of us) for regular updates. We do not have the required login details of the theme purchased from themeforest.
How can you help us? We are ready to pay a subsidized fee for buying the theme again so that we can keep updating the theme and website every time there is an update. Let me know what best can be done. Can it be done without paying any amount? Our webside is gcaffe.com
Thanks/ Gee
Hello!
If you use default templates, then make sure you have the Standard Pack plugin installed and active. Try to update the WordPress and PHP version.
Make a test and deactivate all plugins except tagDiv ones. Also, if you are using a cache plugin, deactivate it, clear all cache, and try again.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
Hello,
I had a problem with my website and just updated it to the last version of Newspaper but I’m facing this issue:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 199233536 bytes) in /home/icanqrpg/public_html/JPPJV/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/common/wp_booster/td_util.php on line 2923
Changing define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘256M’); won’t do anything and it’s not a good solution
What can I do ?
Thanks
Hello Gregor!
If you will use in the future cloud templates (that we recommend), then you have in the TagDiv Composer a lot of options for customization. We wanted to create the easiest platform, so you can build your website without knowing any code and have the possibility to customize every field from any demo. That’s why you do not need a child theme with cloud templates. But you can use the child theme you have with the default templates.
The child theme is not overwritten by the update. An issue with that could be the compatibility of your child theme with the new version of our theme.
If you have some custom modifications directly in the theme files, then better save the code and replace it after every update. You can use a staging plugin, so you won’t ruin your website.
For every update, we always recommend the following:
-> First of all, please make sure you have a backup.
-> Please deactivate all the non-tested plugins with our theme before updating.
-> Update WordPress, PHP, the theme, and plugins to the latest version: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/.
-> Check all these requirements for the theme: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
Thank you!
Hi, I got a website from a client. The website is using a very old version of Newspaper theme (9.2.2) The tagDiv Composer has a very bad security vulnerability that causes the site to be hacked all the time.
The agency that made them the site didn’t provide them any updates or licences, and they weren’t aware of any problems untill years later when they were hacked and asked for my help.
I purchased the license but it looks like the latest version is no longer compatible with the old one or at least not with the child theme. The frontend completely colapses if I upgrade to the new theme.
The site will also be refreshed in the future, but for now, at least removing the vulnerability is the priority.
How could I upgrade at least the tagdiv composer to a non vulerable version without having to rebuild the whole site?
Thanks for your answer and best regards, GRegor
Hi,
Have been using the theme since May 2020. Today when I tried to update the theme, it asked me to reset the registration from the theme’s System Status menu. SO I tried to reset and it took me to the Activation screen, where after keying in the purchase code and clicking the Activate button, nothing changes and spinner icon next to the activate button is spinning and nothing happen evenafter 20 min.
Kindly advice on how to proceed….
The errors started on the most recent update
Newspaper 12.6.6
Wordpress 6.5.4
PHP 7.4.33
Yep. Disabled all plugins and it did nothing. The error continued happening
