Hi,
That could happen if you use Visual composer on posts. That is not recommended
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
If you use Visual composer then deactivate the tagDiv composer and everything should work properly.
But please note that in future theme updates we will add more elements and options only for the tagDiv composer. That is why it is recommended to use the new front-end editor for your pages.
Thanks
Hello m_xtar,
This element can be used only with Visual Composer, like this -> http://prntscr.com/g3usvg Notice that our page builder does not have yet implemented this element, sorry!
Thanks for the message!
This is an actual terrible problem I am experiencing too.
I am producing a new site and I am at develop end. I was just refining the pages when update arrived.
THIS IS BAD!
Guys, how can you change things like that?
Newspaper was an incredible clean tool to create gorgeous and flawless site and I suggested it to clients and collegues.
I have at least 35 static pages build with old and original VC only on this site and in your idea I should remake it?
Worse, if I activate the TD Visual Composer I experience a lot of visualization problems on my pages (image block, title block and code errors).
Even worse, you cannot use all the plugin that interact with normal VC.
At least We should have the possibility to continue to use old VC with normal compatibility.
In your opinion, what I should tell to my clients?
And what should I do now that I’m leaving for holiday and I have planned the site launch at my return?
We have a lot of sites with different VC layouts.
Visual Composer had 11 options (+ individual layout) and we used some of them.
TD-Composer has only 4 options (1/1 | 2/3 + 1/3 | 1/3 + 2/3 | 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3).
The bad thing is, if you update to the new version and watch the duplicated site with the new TD Composer, you will lose the content outside the 4 standard layouts without any warnings, because you can’t access them.
It would be nice to see more layout options in the new TD-composer or we can’t update to the new version. If we don’t get the same layout options as in VC composer, we have to redesign/relaunch our complete website and this would be very terrible.
Furthermore we miss the backend editing with composer (personal opinion).
Hello stylishmanmag,
Errors happened during tdcIframeData.init() -> bindViewsModelsWrappers()!
Please do not use this setting in Seo by Yoast:
https://www.screencast.com/t/n8Cc35EofLh Also, if you are using the WP Super Cache plugin, please ensure that has been right setup according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cache-plugin-install-and-configure/
Also, the third important rule is to do not edit a page which was created with Visual Composer with TD Composer.
Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to do this, sorry!
You should try finding such a plugin which has this functionality and check how it will work with it.
Clear all the caches and check the results.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
Then something is not functioning as it should. This is how the post page looks at the moment on your website
– http://prntscr.com/g3rxtv
It is not supposed to look like that. There is something wrong with the container, or other elements of the page. Please check if you have any custom code added to the theme files, or child theme active. Deactivate all plugins except Visual composer and other plugins included with the theme, and clear the cache. Then the problem should be fixed.
Most likely this is caused by a plugin, this way you can see if that is the case.
Thanks
Hello,
@Kerran elamassa
Newspaper 4 and visual composer 5 are 2 things that should not be in the same sentence. Newspaper 4 was launched 3 years ago and has since then been updated to newspaper 8. The code has been changed so much since then that the theme is basicaly a totally different one. Please update your theme to the latest version (8.1) by simply deleting your old theme and installing the new one as a totally different theme. There will be a few compatibility issues but you will have to re-create a few styles and elements in order to get the theme to work properly. You simply skipped way too many updates to have a flawless transition between versions. Sorry.
There are many error reports because people simply do not use the theme as intended withe the recommended plugins and the intended way of using visual composer.
If used properly and the way it;s meant to be used, the theme provides absolutely 0 errors when updating. We test our products very carefully before each release.
As for VC, you should not have purchased it as it is already provided free of charge in the theme package.
Thank you!
Hello hammerman,
You should simply make a theme update, clear all the caches and check the results. The problem was caused by the Visual Composer which was not be updated and that’s why you have brought that error with the theme. Now, it was solved in the latest theme version because the Visual Composer has been updated to 5.2 version of it.
Thanks for the message!
But I use Visual Composer.
How to fix?
If i active tagdivComposer and Visual Composer my posts merge sidebar.
Hello,
Unfortunately using both page builders at the same time will cause layout issues. We only recommend using one or the other Never both at the same time. For pages, sorry but not even visual composer is recommended: https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/use+visual/
The page builders in our theme are destined for pages only.
Thank you!
Do you plan to introduce the possibility of disabling rows as we could before in Visual Composer? A newspaper is a living entity whose design also changes throughout the day. The only simple way is to have rows that you can publish or unpublish according to the time of day. This builder is very lame without that option. Not really useful for a newspaper.
Ok. But If I use VisualComposer the problem is true too
Hello! I’m using Newspaper 4 and Visual Composer 5.1.
Problem 1:
When I update to VC 5.2 my site crashes: ”Fatal error” that points to ”wp-content/themes/Newspaper/vc_templates/vc_row.php on line 30”. Site works again when I re-install VC 5.1.
Problem 2:
I have tried to update the theme for Newspaper 7 (I have the .zip file) but could not do it with WP dashboard or FTP program – site crashes, I guess this has something to do with Visual Composer (5.1) as well.
Question:
Is there a simple (or at least safe) way to update the theme & plugin? I would be happy to update only up to Newspaper 7, because I can’t live without Visual Composer. I have 500+ pages (not posts) that are created with VC, so unfortunately I can’t start using TD Composer.
Thanks for help!
That old video from 2015 shows “Visual Composer” — not “TD Composer” — two different things. TDC was just introduced to provide a faster, more efficient with web server, optimized page builder for those who primarily use it for home page layout, grids on categories, and business page layouts.
See the docs for TD Composer for how that works.
VC and TDC are two entirely different things.
They likely need to update the tutorial page to point at the new TDC stuff !

Hello Team,
I have been facing issues with the posts which uses the visual composer when the tagdiv composer is active. Currently tagdiv composer is not supported for posts. I used Visual composer to built some of the posts. When the tagdiv composer is active the post page is distorted and the layout is not proper. Have the look at the images for reference.

When the tagdiv Composer is active

When the tagdiv composer is not active the post pages looks proper.
For now I deactivated the tagdiv composer. Once this problem is resolved, I will switch to Tagdiv composer.
Thanks.
Hi,
That probably was the issue with the Visual composer update. You must have updated this plugin, before it is officially supported by the theme
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-visual-composer-plugin/
There were similar problems where in the backend, only code would display inside the elements. You should only use the Visual composer plugin that is provided in the theme package, as this is tested and fully compatible with the theme. Or if you have a purchased license, at least make sure it is the same version and do not update it when available.
Please note that in the theme latest update today, support for Visual composer 5.2 was added. Try updating the theme and check if the problem is solved.
Only use Visual compose or tagDiv composer, not both at the same time
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial/
Also check the theme system status and make modifications to the parameters mentioned in this guide, if necessary
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/
This will ensure the proper functionality of the theme and plugins.
Thanks
Hi,
It could the case that you used Visual composer for your posts. That is why they are displaying like that. Try creating a new post with a sidebar if needed for the test, and test if it is displaying properly.
Visual composer is not recommended to be used on posts, but could still be used if enabled in the settings. The tagDiv composer can only be used on pages.
Thanks
Hello whiten67,
I guess that in the past, you have used the Visual COmposer for post pages right? Now, if you will use the TD Composer, notice that all of the customizations from your posts where you have used the Visual Composer will not be recognized now and thatțs why you bring some HTML codes on your front end, sorry! You have two possibilities in this case: the first one would be to further use the Visual Composer for posts, which is not recommended and the second one is to remove all of your customizations from your post pages and use only of our post templates and continue t use our page builder.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hey guys,
When I’m running both TagDiv + Visual Composer I run into issues.
However, I would like to design an “Articles” page with some of the blocks that Newspaper provides only under TD.
Is there any way I can still use TagDiv without messing up my theme? I have a little too much into Visual Composer that it would take me weeks if not months to go back and re-update everything with TD.
The way I fixed it was as follows –
Create a temporary test page (do NOT use a page you are planning on using at some point in the future).
Go into the page with tagdiv composer. Place a couple of elements, including the broken “Text with title” element. Save the page and return to the wordpress backend.
Now load the page in the old Visual Composer and make edit the “Text with title” element in there. Save the page. It might break the page doing this because they aren’t compatible. Now load the page again in the tagdiv composer, and the Text with Title element should now work properly.
That’s how I did it, and all the information I know. I did email it back to the staff to see if it helped. It’s like using Visual Composer somehow reset it, which doesn’t make much sense but now it works for me.
Hello mdeleon,
Sorry for this inconvenient! First of all, you should check your system status parameters to be according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ Also, make sure that your theme has been correctly installed via FTP way because this is the surest method in this case. For more information about using our page builder, please consult the following useful guide here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-composer-tutorial-2/
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Simon, I was expecting a bit more thorough approach to be honest.
As I mentioned in the initial post – the only change that was one – was upgrade to wordpres to 4.8.
Te problem is actually fixed without restoring anything, please see below the solution. Hope it will help you troubleshoot similar issues with future users complaining about the same thing.
The answer from our hosting support – the problem is evident from the answer.
As per my initial reply I switched the PHP version to 5.6 again and cleared the cache for the website, which immediately had effect as the login page at https://allontario.ca/wp-admin/ started working again without any errors. To test and verify this I created a temporary user for your installation and then managed to successfully log into the dashboard. While there I went to our SG Optimizer plugin -> PHP Config and ran the PHP 7.0 compatibility check, which reported having one plugin out of date and not compatible with PHP 7.0:
Code:
The following plugins/themes are not compatible with PHP 7.0.
WPBakery Visual Composer

To use the ad box; see the theme docs on ‘custom ads’ — where you put the custom ad HTML into the custom ad box in the ad panel in the theme, not widget. Then with widget you can select a custom ‘ad spot.’
Or, just put your HTML into a plain ol’ HTML box in sidebar. I do that often. Just use the text mode, not the visual mode added with last version of WordPress.
Inserting a photo from WordPress widget is just putting a photo there, like a staff photo or company front of building, etc. — totally diff from ad banner.
Hi,
Why can’t you create a new page if it’s the front page? Simply create a new one from scratch and set it as a homepage instead of your current one.
This is why I suggested creating a new page: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/
Also please do not use both page builders at the same time. Only keep one of them active. Both plugins active will cause issues.
Thank you!
Hi,
If you are going to use Visual composer to create your pages, please disable the tagDiv composer plugin. Then your pages should display as you want.
Also it is worth mentioning that you should use the recommended row layout when building pages with Visual composer
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-use-visual-composer/
This will ensure that the elements on the page will wok as intended. If you do not use Visual composer as specified, there could be layout problems.
Thanks
