Hi @Anamaria,
We used WP Rocket before and had a conversation with WP Rocket support team. To date, Newspaper and WP Rocket do not properly work together.
The preload function is for single post featured image. This feature doesn’t seem to properly work with EWWW plugin. I will make a new thread when finish testing.
Our server is optimised, as well as the theme.
– This thread (which was not started by me) is about the poor INP poor performance. It is the theme’s elements that make it fail (buttons, popups, mobile menu, comment form fields etc). It fails on your main demo – mobile origin – Despite you used a mobile page for home page, INP fails throughout your whole demo website.
You should probably improve the theme, so it meets the required criteria in 2024. It currently does not.
Hello @Alex
I checked your website and it seems that you run ads, to reduce the resources, I recommend using WP Rocket plugin to optimize the scripts https://i.imgur.com/CXm3M4A.png -> https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-www-fightmag-com/4cmtkp35p0?form_factor=mobile
Also, please enable this option for the single post featured image https://i.imgur.com/hKSRSOZ.png
Furthermore, we make modifications and optimizations, but this is not just about the theme and the server you have, what plugins you use, and what optimizations you have made.
Thank you!
Hi,
Please edit with tagDiv Composer -> https://i.imgur.com/j8YvKks.png click on the block and remove the offset -> https://i.imgur.com/dJ0iFQu.png let that field empty.
Please enable this option for the single post featured image https://i.imgur.com/hKSRSOZ.png
Page speed optimization results are influenced by a large number of factors like your server performance, the number of external scripts loading on the website (ads, fonts, tracking codes, external resources, plugins), the size of the images, the number of elements on a specific page, caching solution, and many, many more.
Now, also, you have a good score for mobile https://i.imgur.com/Rs31PSB.png

Helo, guys, how are you? I’m trying to convince the dev I’m working with that I don’t need a plugin change. I love Newspaper, and I’d do anything to continue using it on my website. But, I’m struggling with speed issues and mobile optimization, and the dev thinks we require a brand-new redesign, with a new and lighter theme.
To prove him wrong, I’m trying to set up preloaded fonts. Since the font request is one of my main concerns at the moment. Do you have a step-by-step tutorial to do that?
My site is https://www.topensandoemviajar.com.
Thanks a lot.

Hi! On deactivating, now my website is showing ok, but i check my website on https://pagespeed.web.dev/. now it give “Core Web Vitals Assessment:
Failed” for mobile.
Hello,
I noticed on all my NewsPaper Themed websites (7 websites with different structures), that since Google update on their Core Web Vitals Assessment, the status on Mobile is Failed because of Interaction to Next Paint (INP). On Desktop it’s fined.
I’m using WP Rocket to make sure everything is optimized but it looks like it’s not enough to fix the issue.
I’m sure your team is looking into that, and maybe you have an estimated time of update to fix this ?
Please don’t answer anything like “have a look at those links to optimize speed”, nor write me “speed is not part of our assistance”.
Thanks
Hoi guys, I used to have a perfect satisfactory page speed, but after using a mobile template for my homepage and switching back to what I had I’m having issues with the loading time of my website. Maybe it has nothing to do with that, but I cannot find what is causing the issue.
I use WP Rocket and exclude the entry-thumb from the lazy-loading option. That does not seem to help.
Even when a deactivate WP Rocket the problem still exists. When I run my homepage trough speed insight the images are not even showing. Do you have any idea what is happening? http://www.wandelingen.info
Hello!
However, page loading speed can depend on many factors, and each website is unique from this point of view.
Unfortunately, we can help you only with some advices.
Please note that page speed or optimization is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
Our developers are aware of this issue and try to synthesize the composer, which is big, and fix the major problems of the theme and speed.
I recommend you use fewer features on the page, so the requests will be less as well.
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
Hi Calin. I have the same situation, but I only see it from my mobile phone. Can the exclusion you suggested solve the problem for me? I switched to Cloudflare on Friday, also to speed up the website. Apparently – although I know it’s part of the support, but I’ll give it a try because I failed to solve it – after minifying the javascript and css files, one of my important ads (the javascript code is placed in the footer because it’s displayed as a bottom ribbon ad by a third party) doesn’t show up. Even after I turned off the minifying, I still couldn’t get it to revert. Do you know what could be the conflict? Thank you very much!
I optimized the loading speed of my website. A problem persists only on the mobile version.
I notice a “Largest Contentful Paint” of 4320ms for the title of my page. The google page speed test indicates under the problematic title <span class=”td-pulldown-size”>.
Is there a setting that I could change on the theme to improve the loading speed of this specific point ? I don’t have a mobile page on this page model.
Thanks
My website is hosted on Cloudways/DigitalOcean, so as part of my hosting I can use Cloudflare Enterprise Edge caching which is essentially full page caching. However, once I turn it on the main menu starts behaving strangely, namely not showing on about 10-20% of the pages, or showing, but not working.
My hosting company say it could be due to the Newspaper page builder, and due to some kind of caching used in it. I have turned it off for now, but would like to use it ASAP as it offers a huge speed advantage for my site.
Do you know of anything in Newspaper that would cause this?
Hello!
Improving page speed in WordPress is crucial for providing a better user experience and optimizing your website for search engine rankings. Here are some tips to help you enhance your WordPress site’s page speed:
Optimize Images: Compress images before uploading them to your WordPress site. You can use plugins like WP Smush or EWWW Image Optimizer to automatically optimize images without losing quality.
Utilize Caching: Implement caching to reduce server load and speed up page loading times. WordPress caching plugins like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache can generate static HTML files of your pages to serve to users, instead of dynamically generating them each time.
Minify CSS and JavaScript: Minify your CSS and JavaScript files to remove unnecessary characters and reduce file sizes. This can be done manually or through plugins like Autoptimize or W3 Total Cache.
Enable GZIP Compression: Enable GZIP compression on your server to reduce the size of files sent from your server to users’ browsers. Most hosting providers offer GZIP compression, but you can also enable it through plugins like WP Rocket or W3 Total Cache.
Optimize Database: Regularly clean up and optimize your WordPress database to remove unnecessary data and improve performance. You can use plugins like WP-Optimize to automate this process.
Limit External Requests: Minimize the number of external requests your website makes by reducing the use of external scripts and widgets. Each external request adds overhead to your page loading time.
Enable Lazy Loading: Implement lazy loading for images, videos, and iframes so that they are only loaded when they are visible on the user’s screen. This can significantly reduce initial page loading times.
Optimize Server Response Time: Choose a reliable hosting provider with fast server response times. Consider using a content delivery network (CDN) to serve your content from servers closer to your users.
Regularly Update Plugins and Themes: Keep your WordPress core, plugins, and themes updated to the latest versions to ensure compatibility with the latest performance optimizations and security patches.
Ads can significantly impact the speed of your WordPress website since they often involve loading external resources and scripts. You can try to limit the number of ads, optimize ad sizes and formats and implement lazy load on your ads.
By following these tips, you can significantly improve the page speed of your WordPress website, leading to better user engagement, higher search engine rankings, and overall improved performance.
Thank you!
Boss, in my case focusing on Google speed performance is a waste of time. You just maintain your website. Google will manage your website itself. I wasted too much time on this. But nothing came out. For the last one year I have stopped paying attention to it. Now my articles get indexed instantly and 78 percent of the traffic to my website comes from Google only.
Well, there are some tips which you can follow;
1. Also make a mobile version of the website.
2. Reduce ads.
3. Use full photo for desktop version and smaller image size for mobile version.
Rest of Google performance has no value. The world’s top websites cannot even pass the Web Core Vital issues.
I would like to apologize if you feel bad about my suggestion. But this is the truth.
Dear Waleed9, Why are you so much confused? Just relax and access Cloud Templates option from your admin pennal. On this page you can create different mobile templates for all website pages and for any modifications you have to update both Desktop and mobile template.
It’s very easy to do and it increase website speed/performance too. I am also using the same. Even I stop using amp after getting this feature with newspaper theme.
Hi,

As you can notice in this report, you have a lot of the scripts for ads -> https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-newspatron-com/5m3vmvj9v8?form_factor=mobile -> https://i.imgur.com/oTMzAC1.png

Thanks i was able to that and remove the undesired post block. Let me know from where the email block subscribe block could be removed for the home page or page[s].
I want to keep the email subscriber block to keep appearing as normal below the posts.
One more thing I want to learn is how to remove the unutilised blocks or empty blocks from the home page.
please let me know how to do that.
Also please advise me how to make the website load within 2 seconds. I am trying to place simple elements all around the website starting with the home page.
Only after the site loading speed is optimized the next goal could be achieved.
Hi,
The situation looks like you have a cache plugin that is loading only the essential code and the rest of code is loading after the first interact with the website. Usually this type of “implementation” is used for getting a good pagespped score here – https://pagespeed.web.dev/
I inspected further and indeed there is a custom css (the one you provided and this is apply after you interact with the website).
My first suggestion is to check if the problem appears when you are logged in, if appears, then make a test using only tagDiv plugins and the main theme (not the child theme).
Let me know the results!
After monitoring my websites, I found that the theme, even when cached, continues to slow down the speed in these two files. I used the “black demo” theme. My concern is that even when I try to minify these two codes, the theme fails in the search button or ends up breaking. Currently, I use Ezoic as a CDN for my site.
42% of the render-blocking time comes from the script loaded from path “/wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/js/tagdiv_theme.min.js” (the Newspaper theme) e 11% comes from the script “/wp-content/plugins/td-cloud-library/assets/js/js_files_for_front.min.js”.
@kompic, as you likely know WP Rocket is a premium paid plugin.
One can start having a though that they won’t be able to mass sell their theme if they will start disclosing that in addition to buying the theme and paying to them, you will also have to buy another plugin for speed in order to meet CWV.
That’s why they have a guide for WP Super Cache, Cloudflare, etc plugins that are free and “Optimisation is not covered”.
These guides for free plugins will get your sites to 90+ no problems, I know it as I’ve done it on multiple sites.
But as soon as you have Adsense + any other external code to load java, ads or whatever – it’s basically game over for CWV. You will still be around 90 in the pagespeed test, but won’t actually pass CWV, as it collects real user experience data.
And like you also noticed they use WP Rocket for their demo. One can start thinking that maybe their guides for free plugins don’t actually work?
Maybe this can be asked on some public forum like reddit to get some fresh answers… A shared guide from three years ago from someone else’s website is not really helpful, is it?
Hello @loaphuong24h!
The page’s elements need time to be fully loaded. This problem is about the page speed of your website. I recommend you have fewer elements on the page.
Thank you!

Hello,
1. You have now the amp plugin but also the mobile theme plugin, but I understand that you want to use the responsive version, therefore non of those plugins are not required (you can disable the tagDiv mobile theme and amp plugin).
2. This is usually related to a cache or optimizing plugin that is interfering with the js from the theme. Is this situation always, for example when you are logged in (and the cache is not apply)? If yes, then please check the browser console to see if there are any errors.
Indeed, I checked the website pagination is working now (because you disable the mentioned options from LiteSpeed cache plugin).
For css I think that you can use some options but not all of theme and for js please try to exclude those:
/jquery-?[0-9.](.*)(.min|.slim|.slim.min)?.js
/jquery-migrate(.min)?.js
tagdiv_theme.min.js
tdBlocksArray
If this is not work please try this:
/jquery-?[0-9.](.*)(.min|.slim|.slim.min)?.js
/jquery-migrate(.min)?.js
tagdiv_theme.min.js
tdBlocksArray
tdb_globals
td_youtube_list_ids
iosSlider
/td-cloud-library/assets/js/js_files_for_front.min.js
Also, the amp is deprecated – https://i.imgur.com/gipeN7q.png
Thank you!
Hello,
The google auto ads, it is displayed automatically on the entire website -> https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9261805?hl=en, not only when you want. Also, regardless of the type of code for ads, these will still bring a report in the decrease of page speed.
The code needs to be added to the Theme Panel -> Analytics/JS code in head -> https://i.imgur.com/UypAKbc.png but only scripts.
Thank you!
